Rainbow Fairies (Crazy Idea)

The genius reprinting of Rainbow Energy has opened a new door of possibilities. With Prism, we now have 8 wild energy cards that can count as anything. This deck is a crazy idea that attempts to take advantage of it.

Pokemon 16
  • 3-3 Aromatisse
  • 3 Thundurus EX
  • 2 Genesect EX
  • 2 Darkrai EX
  • 1 Keldeo EX
  • 1 Virizion EX
  • 1 Rayquaza (DRV)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums 31
  • 4 Juniper
  • 4 N
  • 3 Skyla
  • 2 Colress
  • 2 Ghetsis
  • 1 Computer Search
  • 3 Ultra Ball
  • 1 Level Ball
  • 1 Plasma Ball
  • 4 Tool Scrapper
  • 2 Red Card
  • 1 Super Rod
  • 3 Max Potion
Energy 13
  • 2 Lightning
  • 3 Plasma
  • 4 Rainbow
  • 4 Prism
Strategy: Use Aromatisse is conjunction with Rainbow Energy and Prism Energy to have any attack at your disposal. All of the basic pokemon are strong attackers, but they also serve other functions

Thundurus is key thanks to it's ability to accelerate special energy.
Genesect provides you with a plasma pokemon to accelerate energy onto. It also has a built in catcher which can be put to good use.
Both Darkrai and Keldeo help you to retreat with ease.
Rayquaza is mainly for Black Kyurem, but it does provide you with a cheap non EX attacker.
Virizion is not a strong attacker, but it does protect you from lasers.

As for the trainers, Ghetsis and Red Card are techs against Sableye decks who spam enhanced hammers. 4 tool scrapper might be overkill, but Garbodor does kill this deck. And Max Potion is for tanking strategies with Aromatisse.

Rainbow and Prism energy are self explanatory, but the plasma is for Genesect's red signal (and maybe Thundurus's second attack) and the two lightning are in case of pesky hammers.

The deck is just a rough draft of an idea I had so it's probably not the best build, but you get the general idea, taking advantage of being allowed 8 wild energy cards and rolling with it. There are other attackers that could work with this (Terrakion, Reshiram, and Shaymin EX are intriguing ideas), but unfortunately, you can't fit them all in.

Edited to coincide with the rules! ~Kecleon

You could rework it to use Xerneas EX and a few fairy energies. I would also advise keeping Darkrai
and running either Landorus EX, Chandelure EX, or regular Xerneas.
Also yes, 4 scrapper is overkill. Giratina EX>Rayquaza DRV.

Forgot about Giratina. Though personally, I'd run Rayquaza just so I have one non EX attacker.

Also, Mew EX, I can't think of any other deck that could get as much use of Mew than this.

And then a Safeguard Sigilyph or Suicune pops up and ruins your deck, unless you want to attack with the engine. One non-EX attacker isn't enough, considering it could be prized, then you'd truly be up a creek without a paddle.

Good point, there's where Kyurem, Terrakion, Absol, Reshiram, Zekrom, or any number of these guys can help.

Heck, you could even use G Booster as your ace spec.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the non EX Xereneas and Yveltal promos. Those things can hit for 100.

Just a little thought: Thundurus-EX, in this deck, can only accelerate to Genesect-EX. I KNOW that you can just move them with Aromatisse, but what if Genesect is not in play? I'd consider either running Team Plasma Badge or make this deck a Plasma Rainbow Fairy deck(?). Hope I could help!

That's another idea I thought of. Plasma also benefits greatly from rainbow energy since they don't have to rely on blend alone. I actually thought of a Thundurus/Genesect deck. Thundurus taking Virizions place as the accelerator (with one Virizion put in for the ability). You could really throw in any other attacker, Kyurem, Absol, or even something weird like Moltres EX. Only problem would be bench space. With at least one Aromatisse taking up a spot on the bench, and probably Virizion, there might not be room for Deoxys. Then again, Genesect seems to do fine without Deoxys so it might not that much of a problem.
