  • 4 Xerneas XY8 (beatdown)
  • 1 Trevenant Ex (beatdown)
  • 1 Flareon Ex (beatdown)
  • 1 Jolteon EX (beatdown)
  • 1 Malamar Ex (disabler)
  • 1 Manaphy Ex (retreat)
  • 2 Aromatisse (enable)
  • 2 Spritzee (evolution)
  • 2 Shaymin EX (draw)
  • 1 Hoopa Ex (search)
Trainers (32):
  • 2 Prof. Birch's Observation (draw)
  • 4 Professor Sycamore (draw)
  • 2 Giovanni’s Plan (draw)
  • 1 Teammates (search)
  • 1 Lysandre (control)
  • 3 Fighting Fury Belt (beatdown)
  • 3 Trainer’s Mail (search)
  • 3 Exp. Share (conserve)
  • 1 Escape Rope (switch)
  • 1 Sacred Ash (retrieve)

  • 4 Ultra Ball (search)
  • 4 Skyfield (attack boost)
Energy (12):
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
  • 2 Rainbow Energy
  • 6 Fairy Energy
STRATEGY:

Go first and start with Xerneas. Bench Spritzee and search for Hoopa Ex. Use him to search out Shaymin Ex and Malamar Ex in addition to another attacker. Attach an energy card to either Xerneas or Malamar Ex and pass the turn. Next turn attach Double Colorless Energy and fill the bench with other attackers. Attach Exp. Share to Aromatisse and attack with Rainbow Spear. When Skyfield is removed, discard Hoopa Ex and Shaymin Ex in addition to another Pokémon Ex. Retrieve them with Sacred Ash and refill the bench with Hoopa Ex.

SPOILER:

Jolteon Ex
Baic Lightning Pokémon
HP 160
[L] Swift: 30
This attacks damage isn’t affected by Weakness, Resistance, or any other effects on your opponent’s active Pokémon.
[L][C][C] Flash Ray: 70

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Metal (-20)
Retreat: 0

Flareon Ex
Baic Fire Pokémon
HP 170
Ability: Flash Fire
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may move a [R] energy from one of your Pokémon to this Pokémon.
[C][C][C] Blaze Ball: 50+
This attack does 20 more damage for each [R] energy attached to this Pokémon.
Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

CONCERN:

The deck could use another Pokémon retrieval card in case Sacred Ash is prized but could not find a means o fit one more into the deck.

Maybe you can add an Aegislash-EX since u arent running any metal types and helps to attack special energy user's, also i don't think 2 giovannis are needed, 1 is enough, replace the other with birch since u don't have any way to reshuffle your hand.

i hope i have helped :)

I'm trying something similar in expanded, but let me know, why don't you include Rainbow Energy? There's no point in including Yveltal EX or Regirock if you aren't running those energies. If it's only for their types, change Yveltal EX for Malamar EX and Regirock for something else, like the Aegislash EX that has been told in the last message.

Also, 2-2 Aromatisse is a bit weak, I'll personally use 3-2 or 3-3

Hi Andrew Lostaunau,

Thanks for the review. Will be sure to consider Aegislash Ex. Might switch Regirock for Aegislash Ex. Want to keep the two Giovanni's Scheme since it worked real well in several decks and Xerneas can use the boost from time to time.

Hi Javi Blizz,

Thanks for the review. The main reason that this deck does not run Rainbow Energy is that I would like to have a turn two Xerneas XY8 which seems to need Double Colorless Energy. Any idea on how to use Rainbow Energy and still ensure a turn two Rainbow Spear? The smaller Aromatisse line worked fine for me. The main reason for it was to conserve energies with Exp Share to ensure that another Xerneas can take over once the former one was knocked out.

Okay, so then switch Yveltal EX for Malamar EX. You won't be able to attack with them, but at least you can sleep your opponent's active pokemon using Malamar's ability.

If you still want to run Yveltal EX, you could change 2 Fairy Energy and include 2 Rainbow Energy.

Hi Javi Blizz,

Thanks for the assistance. Will switch Yveltal Ex for Malamar Ex in this case. Also included two Rainbow Energy to allow Manectric Ex to attack but not entire sure on it.

Think you could fit a 1-1 Zorua/Zoroark line in there? Keldeo was a staple in last format Fairy Box due to both water attack and status healing. If you could fit the Break in that could also be huge as long as you play the Rainbow Energy.

Also, more Rainbow Energy, and definitely keep Regirock. With Rock/Zorua/Spritzee might be worth play Bridgette over Fan Club, though I know FC can pull Shaymin/Hoopa. :/

Hi folks,

Revised the deck and would be interested in comments on how to improve the deck and iron out the concern listed above. Thanks for the assistance in advance.

I think you'd prefer to run Charizard EX instead of Flareon EX. With the same number of Rainbow Energy attached to them, Flareon EX does 90 damage, while Charizard EX does 150. The same can be said between Trevenant EX and Sceptile EX Promo. For 3 Rainbow Energy Trevenant does 110 damage and Sceptile does 130. Btw, I'd like to run Aegislash EX instead, trying to slow down other Rainbow Spear Decks.

Hi JaviBlizz,

Thanks for the review. I believe that Trevenant Ex is better than Sceptile Ex in this deck since he can attack for colorless when needed. Furthermore, Sceptile Ex needs the active Pokémon to be poisoned while Trevenant Ex is more self-sufficient. A similar argument holds for Flareon Ex. Will look into Aegislash Ex but not sure at the moment since Metal weakness is not as common as Grass or Fire. Any idea on how to fit a second Sacred Ash into the deck?

No, I was talking about the Black Star Promo Sceptile EX, is diferent than the Ancient Origins one; but if you prefer being able to attack using colorless cost attacks, then Trevenant is the one who fits in.
