I know how much he sold it for. and it was not 22k, but it was a really good selling price.

Yeah, I meant the Quick Player starter set. This is just ridiculous. $700, now I am sure I have seen these cheaper, in recent years.

I believe it has sold for under $200 in the last year.

Yeah, I had a few friends who managed to pick a few up for a reasonable price earlier this year or late last year. It's a nice set, but it's just a tad expensive.

I gave one as a Christmas gift over a decade ago. It cost me about $30 at the time.

Honestly, that is not an unreasonable sale price considering what the individual cards sell at.

One thing that is a little bit odd... there are supposedly only 6 of these in existence, one for each of the 6 contest winners. Yet 4 of them have been graded? Most people just threw out their pokemon cards, seems too good to be true that at least 4 have been found and sent to PSA.

Yeah I think more were produced than we know. The chances of the children keeping them in a good condition seems rather hard to believe. Especially when sleeves and binders weren't really around back then.

...I knew those cards were real! I just forgot the other one was a Munchlax, but I do remember being told about a San Diego Piplup worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $10K.

My memory now has closure.

Oh.. he finally put it up for sale... lol , I know who is selling those 2 cards. Too bad they're both aren't mint.
