My main goal is to set up faster than any other deck, especially with Landorous in the format. My first turn consits of getting emolga into the active spot by ultra ball and get as many tynamos as possible on my bench. By turn two my ideal bench would consist of 3 eels and Ray getting loaded up.

Tech Choices:
Shiny Ray is there for Siglyph and mirror matches.

Mewtwo is self explanitory as it is a staple for almost every deck. His synergy with eels is too much to ignore.

Trainer Choices:


I run 4-2 Ultra-Level Ball in order to get my Eels set up as quick as possible by T2 and get as many energy's into the discard pile as i can. Which I can then get back with dynamotor/superrod.

The list you find in the bottom of the thread is 1 I used for a City Championship, I can tell you that in 4/5 (where 3 of them actually happend and the last 1 was due to a double prized tynamo) cases, then at the end of my turn 1 I had Emolga as my active, atleast 1 Rayquaza EX. 1 of any other pokemon which I need for the specifc match u, and 3 tynamos on the bench.

Your list seems a little out dated. You have no techs for Landorous or Keldeo. And what is your reasoning in running eviolite in a rayeels deck?
 
Out dated? In no way, against Landorus all you pretty much need is a good turn 1, then the game is in your hands. When would you ever need to tech something for the match against Keldeo? You beat with Rayquaza easily. they have to focus on your eels when you can focus on their ex's,
 
Ok, so I will give you some straightforward advice with your deck, since i am assuming you want that and not to be told that you should go read some really long article.

The first thing I would do is run at leas 2 Rayquaza Stamped DV. One reason, having your Eelektrik attack a Sigilyph, because your RayRay is prized isn't fun, trust me.
-1 Prism Energy
Reasoning is that Baby_Bi is kind've right, Lando is a threat early game and catcher wise, and you really only need 2 prisms o one shot Lando with Keldeo which will take 2 turns min. to setup. So 2 shoting is probably an ok option
+1 Rayquaza DV

-1 Ultra Ball, I only play 2 since I figure I have Comp. Search, but if you're comfortable with 3 thats fine. There is no reason to run 4 since there really isn't going to be a turn one Dragon Burst/Secret Sword/X-Ball. You should be fine.
+1 Cheren I looked at your list and said "WHAT ONLY 10 DRAW SUPPORTERS. Oh you know what I'm sure he makes up for it with like 3 Skylas(I was sadly mistaken)" -___-
But the most important thing here to remember is that don't let anyone tell you to drastically update your deck, a few tips here and there won't hurt, but let's face it you should be comfortable with your deck and when someone faces you and you win you can always go yeah I won with MY deck that I tested and made better on MY own. Good Luck with your future endeavors in becoming TCG world champion ;P
 
I personally think that the deck does not need the Keldeo or Prism.
if you take them out you can have 5 fire energy and put in 1 more cheren
,1 more skyla and eather 1 thunderus or 1 more lightning energy....
..but thats just my thaught
 
Keldeo is more of a personal preference, I personally don't use it but in theory it is the answer to all of eels problems. Scrnario: an eel is being catcher stalled to avoid an easy ko victory for you. In theory you should be able to drop a Keldeo dynamotor to it rush in use your remaining dynamotor a on a Rayquaza (maybe even use a catcher) retreat your Keldeo for 1 (assuming you have Skyarrow bridge in play) and bam take your final ko for the win. Supposedly it's unbeatable but it takes a bench spot AND a deck spot. Meaning that the defending pokemon better have 120hp or less and you have to have 3 eels in play and a ray ex with a fire . It's just not my style, but I hear that it works.
 
good point, but if you dont use your switches carelessly you wont need Keldeo. and if your worried about landorus ex it will at least take 2 turns to set up Keldeo when you could set up Rayquaza in one turn. and thunderus is great in any eels because in 2 turns you'll have 3 energys on him. and 1 skyla is no where near enough you need 2 of them to get your catchers and max potions, wich i saw there were none in the list whats with that ,just add 2 and the list will be better
 
I am all about setting up fast and not about max potion or tanking my attackers. I also tend to use double switches per turn if I can to load up ray ex for the ko. This is where I love playing Keldeo so I can have more double switch opportunities.

edited my list as well. Took out an energy for a Skyla.

What are your ideas on running 4-3 tynamo elektrik?
 
i ran 4-3 tynamo elektrik and did not do to bad at regionals the super rod helps alot so i say yes but it matters on the way you want to play
 
4-3 eels was the way I went when I won regionals here in Denmark. It is the best way to go about it until 1 of your eels are prized :p
 
The list looks pretty good in my opinion. My biggest issue is, if you run Keldeo, I think you should run 4 Prism and 1 Fire. Prism is just so much faster and more versatile. Although it can be Hammered, this deck's Hammer matchup isn't the best anyways, and your Landorus matchup will be improved if you can use Keldeo better.

First of all, I too have built and run my version of Ray-Eels. At the recent Regionals tournament (largest in the country: 500+ players, 370+ masters!) interestingly enough, I played against 3 Ray-Eels decks. There were also a large number of Darkrai EX variants and Garbodore decks being played.

Some thoughts/comments for you to consider:

A 4-4 Eelektrik line is optimal. Your opponent will most definitely attack the low HP Tynamos, as well as your Eelektriks. When these are taken out, the deck is severely SLOW; and your chances of recovering are low without the energy attachment acceleration. The 4-4 line also improves your chances of getting more Eels into play faster when 1-2 may be KOd early game and/or 1 is prized.

At Regionals, all of my Ray-Eels opponents ran Emolga. I'm not sure what their counts were, although I suspect it was at least 3 to enhance their chances of starting with it. Each opponent had Emolga active by t2.

Landorus EX is a major threat to this deck since it can attack multiple Tynamos and/or Eelektriks concurrently and easily wreak havoc early game. On the other hand, you can't even easily revenge/respond KO the Landorus EX with your Keldeo EX without some MAJOR luck to get both Prism energy onto your Keldeo EX. Lastly, Ray EX is your main attacker that can 1HKOs any Poké in the game!

With all of the above said, I suggest the following deck changes:

-1 Keldeo EX. IMHO, I don't feel it will give you a good return on your investment of a precious card slot. Plus, it can not easily 1HKO a Landorus EX.
+1 Bouffalant (Bouffer). This is a Poké all EXs must reckoned with!

+1 Emolga (Call for Family). If you want this as your preferred starter ("to help you setup faster"), then I believe another 1 is needed to enhance your chances of starting with it.
-1 Ultra Ball. With 3 Emolgas, your dependency upon UBs decreases.

-2 Cheren,
-1 Switch. I've found 2 Switch to be sufficient for me.
+3 Bianca. Since you are playing Ultra Balls which requires you to discard cards from your hand, Bianca can replenish your hand effectively, moreso than Cheren.

-1 Energy Search. Undoubtedbly, I suspect you use this card to search for R energy. IMHO, with improved card draw and rebalancing your R energy, you will not need this card but rather...
+1 Energy Retrieval. I really like this card for getting R energy from the discard pile!

-2 Prism,
+2 Fire. Should you remove Keldeo EX, you will not need Prism energy (which would be prime targets for Hammers).

Lastly, another L energy or Mewtwo EX or Rayquaza could be quite useful too. You could replace one of the Skyarrow Bridge for this should you choose.

Now, playtest, playtest, playtest till you find the right combo for you.

After playtesting a little Keldeo has not done it for me. It takes to much luck to set up the ohko and I rarely rused its rush in ability effectively.

I like the idea behind energy retrieval and replacing cheren with bianca. I will give that a shot.

Not to keen on Bouf though. If I want to stall I can play Ray DV and it will faster (with only requiring 1 energy to attack) / more effective than setting up to play Bouf.

So if I take out Keldeo is it wiser to replace him with emolga or another eel?

Did some of your cahnges and I like how it plays out.

You think running just 1 SAB is smart? especially if i only replace it with a L energy

Through my experience, I've found only 1 SAB is sufficient. In many cases when I retreated, I just Dynamotored that discarded L energy (used for retreating) right back onto a Poké; so, nothing was lost.
 
After Plasma Storm comes out though, more SAB will be necessary. Winning those Virbank stadium wars will be crucial to matches.

I think 2 should be run anyway. You need to get it onto the field ASAP and if another random stadium comes in, you could have some serious issues.
