What were they thinking? A couple I do understand, like they Shiny Rayquaza(Hoopa Movie and Ancient Origins), Zygarde, Xerneas, and Yveltal(XYZ anime), and Mew(Red, Blue, and Yellow/20th Anniversary). But Pokemon like the Bird Trio, a Mythical Pokemon every month, and Pokemon Bank Regi Trio, don't make sense. I still do get these event Pokemon, but that's because they're hard to get Pokemon. I know, 20th Anniversary and all that, but they don't need this many events. What's the next event after Yveltal?(Not counting Mythical Pokemon). Just asking.

The logic behind the whole event Pokemon release is that they probably wanted every player to have the opportunity to "catch them all" before the introduction of a new gen. That's why I think they have returned the "gotta catch em all" motto.

But in November and December, they're having Genesect and Meloetta, and Sun and Moon are gonna be out by that time. Will you be able to recieve Genesect and Meloetta in Sun and Moon? Because if that's the answer, I'm gonna get Genesect, put him in my PC, play the game normally, then steamroll the Pokemon League with him. But with the birds, you can get 1 in XY depending on your starter, and it's possible to use the GTS. But also, who would want want to SR, just to get it's Hidden Ability? That's probably also what the Bird Trio event is for.

Well, the way I understand it, is, why do you really care about them handing out free stuff? I mean two shiny legends and 12 (28 including Regi trio/legendary birds/Johto and Unova starters, Zoroark, and Zygarde + the event legendaries) event Pokemon that rarely get released are all finally coming out, it gives younger fans a chance at getting said rare Pokemon, and it's generous in general. When is the last time they had a Darkrai or Manaphy event? Or even a Shaymin one? Plus it's nice to have updated and now Pentagram possible Pokemon, which means if for some reason in the future event Pokemon are playable we can actually use them. Overall though, I wish they would have done stuff like this in the past, and not even using the mythical Pokemon, competitive Pokemon work just as well, but I'm glad that we're finally having all these events.

This. I would've killed for this many events in the past, there's been so many that never really made it out of Japan (and while many of them had good reason not to, I can think of several from 5th gen that didn't).

The shiny Golurk/Hydreigon event kinda wrenched my soul :/ They've had some good events over the years that the U.S. or anywhere else got, which I think is a shame.

So, let me get this straight... They're distributing legendary pokémon that are REALLY hard to get and you're complaining? facepalm...

Though, there is a reason for all of them which (some) might be oblivious to you...

-The mythicals: self-explanatory, I think. Gotta catch 'em all. And they'll have the blue pentagon mark. Still, they're event pokémon. You never have too much of each one cause you never know when you'll be able to get another.
-Shiny Rayquaza: Actually, my country didn't get this one (one more reason for you to not complain)... But yes, movie and TCG tie-in.
-Kalos trio: Anime tie-in. Plus, Xerneas and Yveltal are shiny locked in-game, so this is the only way to get them (I also still don't know if my country will get these)...
-Legendary Birds and Regis: They come with their hidden abilities which were previously unavailable. Sure, the abilities are not that useful but the fact is you can't get those in a regular way. I wouldn't be surprised if they release the beasts with their hidden abilities before the end of Gen 6.

Does anyone here know how to sign up for the newsletter? Is there a point to now? Will there be future distributions like this one?

I looked on the website and there doesn't seem to be any information about the newsletter existing. I definitely have an account there, made in 2014, but do you have to also sign up for the newsletter separately. If so why is there not a button that says "Sign up for the newsletter".

To be honest I love these Pokémon distributions, but only in code via stores or over the internet. Not a fan of these "Sign up for this" distributions.

Your in Europe, actually I feel bad for Europe, they only got Zygarde, didn't get Shiny Rayquaza, and a bunch of other things. Also, I was just gonna write about the Poke Bank Regi Trio Event(They're in ORAS so what's the point?) But I wrote more than I was gonna, so I felt stupid for a minute after I posted it.
