Old thread, big update. Basically, I added anything that has to do with Call of Legends, and more importantly the Lostgar matchup. I also updated the techs and the other matchups a bit to make things more precise.

for matchups against active Gengar prime, when u use sacrifice, wouldnt you send your own pokemon to lost zone? not only does this help your opponent, you cant use rescues to bring back mesprits, crobats, giratinas.. etc. denying twins helps of course. would you suggest teching 1-1 dialga g X to counter that problem? since u use metal energys anyway deafen can deny lostgar players from playing down their lost worlds.

...oh wow, I hadn't even thought of that. You are correct.

However.

Lostgar isn't going to really be dealing damage to Regigigas anyway, so barring a T2 Sacrifice to get some Regi Moved Energies onto Gigas to use Giga Blaster (and that will usually happen before a Gengar hits the field), you shouldn't need to Sacrifice during the match whatsoever.

Oh wow. In every single match I've tested Gigas with, neither me nor my opponent noticed Gengar's Body. I guess this greatly limits Gigas' matchup against Lostgar, so I gotta retest the match. For now, I'd say the matchup would then lean towards unfavorable unless you're able to keep discard Pokemon with Regice and limit the amount of Sacrifice you use.

The deck has a horrible matchup verses lostgar, and I almost positive it is always unfavorable for Gdos. It was a great deck but now it is dead

Actually I'm pretty sure that Gliscor's assessment of Gigas vs Gyarados is pretty good. I've fought Gyarados decks several times, the most recent of which I was almost perfectly even with my opponent (we both kept swinging at each other left and right).

In any meta where SPs are often played, it has a really fun time - virtually any SP matchup for the guy is Slightly Favorable. Gigaton Punch/Giga Blaster usually does enough damage to OHKO any SP, especially Garchomp, who can even be OHKO'd by Drag Off+Belt.

So no. It's not dead at all.

i think gigas is a very favourable against SP. imo Garchomps C should never be able to dragon rush against you, as soon as they,re played down, they should be KO'd by belted drag off. without the key compoent of the deck SP is severely limited.

SSU/DCE is in the tech section, but DCE should have been moved to the staple card part rather than the tech section. For SSU, I've never seen myself need it over Seeker/Pokemon Rescue.

No thoughts on a Gengar prime matchup?

Kinda odd that you would completly forget abotu hte most hyped deck for states, even thouhg it is bad.

If you look a page back, you'll see why I don't have a Gengar matchup. My tests against Lostgar ignored Gengar Prime's Body, so I'll have to retest it. My guess is unfavorable, though.

I don't see this being a good matchup, especially against hybrid builds running Palkia G. He can threaten Lost Cyclone, threaten damage (not GREAT damage, but damage) to make you sacrifice, while putting Gengar back in front of your Regigigas to punish your sacs. Without any trainer lock he can set up quickly, as well - if he gets a T1 gar, you might as well scoop.

lost cyclone shouldnt be a problem. the power can be stoped by mesprit. Then palkia is just drag off bait. discard any pokemon you dont need, and just make sure not to get ur gigas X sent to lost zone.

I'd suggest putting in Colorless Gigas section. It sure is different, but takes off most of the energy attaching. A list would be something like this:

3-1 gigas x 2 la 1 promo
4 mesprit
2-1 uxie
1 q
1 smeargle/Chatot Md
1 tina ll
1 regice
=15

4 collector
4 seeker
4 ssu
4 vs seeker
3 rescue
3 junk arm
2 bebes
2 prem ball
2 belt
1 twins
1 black belt
2 energy exchanger
=32

4 call
4 dce
2 warp
2 cyclone
1 rescue
=13

Power lock all game and disrupt everything. A similar concept ended up winning a GA Marathon Cities(Or TCing don't remember). It flows pretty nice, you want to get a t2 gigas swinging, preferably Gigaton Punch. I consistently power lock most if not all game. VileGar's an obnoxious match-up but livable.
