Regigigas Overrated?

Still giving many prizes for just "locking" there powers is not smart. Just play Glaceon LV.X or Gardevoir. But I can see it helps.

In my opinion, this is a great card because I tried it in a deck and does a 100 damage. It might be just over-rated.

Only deck it has a truly BAD matchup against would be Machamp. Machamp is so silly cheap, its no fun at all to play against. Meh, I'm gonna try next week, hoping I don't get all Machamps against me like this week.

Gigas has a couple other bad matchups, although they don't tend to be seen often. Luxray takes at least a 60-40 against Gigas. Obama also has a fairly decent time since he is a 2HKO and he makes Gigaton Punch useless. Overall Gigas has some good matchups on most decks.

Luxray is SLOOOOW once it KO'd something. As Obama goes, he can't really do anything back to Gigas. Spread 20? I'll just sacrifice badly injured stuff when I need to. 60? Alright, fun, and then? That costs 3 energy and is therefore too slow.

Champ is 50/50. Turbo uxie actually wrecks champ really badly. It really depends on how fast they can get thier swarm going and if you can keep yours up as well (need to hit those tsds/nm early).

Foxtrot has a point with Uxie going against Machamp. I would give this 9/10 to be overrated.

Regigigas can equip an Unown G and Machamp will be a 2HKO.
I play Gigas, and he is quite the tank.
Only problem I find is using Sacrifice.
Poke' Healer is a must for long battles.

And that's the problem really. When your opponent brings out TWO T1 Machamps, you can pretty much forfeit. Iunno about the USA, but I believe the Machamps over here focus even more on speed, which make the matchup that more annoying. And against Champ, it will in the end boil down to Coin Flips from the Machamp player. 3 heads from Hurricane Punch does you in. One from the Level X. A right coin-flip on Strong-Willed is good game as well.

Regigigas is not bad, but it's not awesome I made a lot of decks around him and every failed =/

I have a Regigigas deck, and it beat a Machamp deck.
I have a pretty good win ratio with the deck.
and, I get t3 Gigas lv.X :D
Most of the time.
My Gigas deck has nothing but basic pokemon in it. (Not good)
But t1 Machamp would be pretty bad....

What I don't get about Regigigas Lv X is about how awesome people say sacrifice is and how blah blah blah 4-energy-attack-that-needs-sacrifice blah blah blah...

You're giving your opponent a free prize! People just seem to ignore this bit...

A free prize, but with Palkia and WP you are using Giga Blaster EVERY TURN. That is enough to make up for the single prize loss. Also with the overuse of the sprites Gigas takes an easy prize whenever you want.

Since it's nearly impossible to actually ko gigas, you're not giving up a prize. Rather, you're devolping your side of the board further then the opponet, while shorting the game state for both players....lol.

Sacrificing:
-1 Prize Card
-1 Pokemon, most likely a simply tech that lost its usefulness.
+80 hp, thus letting yourself stay alive, dealing 100 damage as usual and energy accelerating your self.

I say it's quite well worth it.

Zyflair is right. Sacrificing helps more than people let on. One Sacrifice can change the tide of a game from losing to winning. I would say most people play Regigigas to have fun, not to win. Regigigas is a tank, and I find it amusing to watch my opponent try and take him down, especially with a Snowpoint on the field. :p

I don't thik it's ovver rated, i think that its over hyped, And the storys about Gigas beating Machmap? Machamp X can hit Hurricane Punch with 1 heads from 4 and still OHKO your gigas, so i can't say that it's easy, there is lot's of good cards to play, Dusknoir, Kingdra, Gengar and Gigas are only over used and when 90 % of good palyers plays them there is no way that something elese would win every torunament.

No. I don't think he's overrated at all. He's a great Pokemon to play, but as Gigas' ability is, (Slow Start) is what normally happens. This guy takes a while to charge up, so you get a slow start. Sacrifice is great, which is what Zyflair pointed out, and I do believe and agree with Ampharos. I'd love to play this deck for fun. (Different colors...o_O)

When I did beat the Machamp deck, it was not easily won at all.
I even used my Unowns to attack >.>
Regigigas is hard to use, and yes slow, in some cases.
Regigigas is not a fail, because it is easy to speed up a basics only deck.
If you can T2 or even T3 Gigas X, your opponent won't know what hit em'.

Pros: Would have to be Sacrifice, High HP, can absorb lots of damage,
deal lots of damage, Gigas is a tank :p and beats most decks.

Cons: Depending on what you play with it...Slow, abusing Sacrifice = losing games, high energy cost, triple-color cost, hard to win against Machamp, and if he gets KO'ed you lose, basically.

His retreat cost is 4. That is not a Pro or a Con, because he is supposed to be your active Pokemon the entire battle.

I have fun with Regi, but still lose quite often to Gengar and Dusknoir. With Gengar swarm and poltergeist... i'm being hit for 90 a turn. if not more. I try to ditch my supporters... but they just keep coming...

it's tought not to have 3-5 in my hand. Especially late game... Then the feinting spell... I hope for tails.

What's the strategy versus that?
