Can someone explain to me why the 5th Generation games are Region Locked?

They're region locked because of the DSi enhanced content in the games

The Ds light can play both jpn and eng games

By Enhanced Content I meant stuff like the XTranceiver which utilises the DSi camera so that you can video chat with friends.
