Reputation system (cause others didn't understand the title XD)

I think that normal members get this to make up for the fact that we have "X" amount of stars and belong to Staff, and many people in the past have asked exactly why we get it and they don't. The reputation system is non-sense. If anything, this is going to distract normal members from posting, and lead to lots of disputes as to why such and such gave such and such a negative ref. Not only leading to disputes, but further spam.

Yea, I agree, this really has no point; I don't know why I would need to know how good others think someone is at the english. I'm already reading the post; why would I care about what other people think about their grammar?

The system is o.k., honestly I do not agree with the reason... Grammar is all good and nice but at the same time it will just cause Animosity..

It's main reason is to, hopefully, stop all the n00bs from spaming and making fools of themselves...

I don't truly think this is needed, but it's not a terrible idea. I guess it would try to stop n00bs from spamming, and if the n00bs take advantage of it, they get zapped.

Although I am unfortunately seeing it getting taken advantage of...and darkrai just wants more negatives so he can brag about how he has more negatives than bacon did.

EDIT: Yeah Tofu, I have already seen those kinds of comments as well.

This system is pointless, what about the people who are not from America? Most of the people that can not type proper English are going to get negative for what? Not being from America and not being able to type English?

That is unfair. I think the system need to change...

Yea, exactly. I don't know if anybody has heard of PokeEarth, but this was the exact reason it wasn't getting much posting, was due to the fact of this silly reputation system.

Oh sure, spelling and grammar. Pssh. More like....grade me on how much I spam. Then, others just look like for instance,

"Oh, Sweet Dawn gave TofU a Negative. So, I must give him a negative."

Yea, I think not.

Then, some perfectly good thread filled with a great discussion is going to come along, have about a page or two of good discussion, and then BAM...

Now, is this what this system is supposed to do? Because if you ask me, (and I'm sure you all knew from the start), that people weren't going to grade people on how well they type, just whether or not they are a n00b. =P

I don't really care for the system, but i don't like it, some people are giving a rep for no reason, and half of them are people that we don't know.
Sadly like Tofu and sweet dawn said this is a horrible distraction, even if the system gets better with less spam and all, i still don't find it amusing

I agree the system is going to get spammed up and all. But the least you can do is give correct reps and not spam...
Besides this system is a day old , give it some time.

You gotta be kidding me.

This system is seriously failing, Jon. TearsofanUchicha and AnthonyG pointed out some stuff that you might want to take note of. As Sweet Dawn said, this isn't being used as much as a spelling grammar thing. It can also be used to flame other members/gang up on them.
 
I like it...

It looks like a lot of the people who are complaining about the system being abused are those who happened to get spammy reps.

That's why I reinforced the points of people who do not have reps.
 
Another thing that could happen is that people could get mad because they get negative reps or no reps so they start flaming and spamming negatives to other people.
