Returning Competitive Player Getting Back Into Standard

Hello Trainers,
I had taken a long and thorough hiatus from Pokemon TCG and MTG and recently picked up DBZ TCG and quit Yugioh TCG. I honestly had missed this game, but today I come back with a few questions.

When I played I had DonChamp, ReshiBoar, and PyroToad lock for IRL TCG and Online respectively.

Now as the format will be going back to Standard I want to know, what deck will have the most longevity and relevance after rotation? Essentially what's worth investing money into?

Moved to TCG Help & Advice as the OP is asking for competitive help over competitive strategy. ~bbninjas

In terms of longevity it will be a toss up for awhile with the new sets coming out as of right now because of BREAKpoint coming out and the rise of things like Zoroark. If anything I would say Mega Manectric has been pretty consistent this whole time since it's release. As far as rotation goes, we wont know until closer to Worlds until they announce it. It's been around 5 sets or so they have rotated out.

Some good decks will be the following:

Mega Manectric
Zoroark
Night March
Vespiquen
Mega Rayquaza (Colorless)

As far as deck lists/skeleton lists look in the Deck Garage and the Metagame Deck Discussion thread. If you have a list and need some help working on it, I'd be more than happy to help you work on it so you can play something.

Something to note is that some staples are Shaymin EX, Professor Sycamore, VS Seeker, Judge, and Hex Maniac now.

I hope this helps! Good luck and have fun!

Actually I am going to run the Mega MAN and Kyurem Regicie deck.

This is a good list of decks to check out, it does update week to week as cities is currently going on. I definitely think it's worth saving up for the next set, as well as investing in night march and bats as they are relatively cheap cards to acquire and good decks to play to get an understanding of matchups.

I think you mean megamna articuno/regice or megaman ice, it's a good deck to first start off with.
