In this true incident, the man had been let out of prison for the day in order to enter the marathon. After completing the race, he kept on running to avoid returning to prison.

;D i thought someone would at least guess that he was running from the police D:

here is another

this one is easy. Why are 2 animals alone in a boat in the middle of an ocean?

Clue:

They were deliberately cast adrift from a famous boat

The animals can sometimes offend the senses

;D easy right?

A man is standing at a bus stop carrying an ordinary kitchen chair in his hands. Why?

Clues:

The man would have liked to have sat on the chair while he waited for the bus, but he could not.

The man was unhappy, and the chair was the cause of his unhappiness

When he got on the bus, the man had difficulty paying his fare.

The chair was glued to his hands.

D: you got it so easy.

He was repairing the chair when he super glued it to his hand. He was taking the bus to the hospital to get it removed.

FINE

A careless driver caused and accident. Fortunately, both he and the driver of the other car were wearing seat belts and were uninjured. However, a passenger in the other car (who was not wearing a seat belt) was very badly mangled in the accident and lost both his legs as a result. When the case came to court the careless driver escaped with a small fine. Why was the judge so lenient?

Clues:

(i dont see how this help but...) The driver's care was white. The other car was black.

Your spelling errors burn my eyes.

The judge was the careless man's careless brother?

that is directly from the book ;D unless you mean my capitalization :p also...no that is not the answer

edit: oh i see now....ya ok you are still both wrong :p

The judge was the careless driver?
The other person was breaking the law by not wearing a seat belt so the judge thought it was the guy who got hurt fault

The judge was the careless man himself?

EDIT: Doubly ninja'd. Adan had my identical answer.

Was the careless driver the mayor?

Completely unlikely, as a man would never be allowed to judge himself in a US court.

The other car had no driver?

Or maybe the legs were prosthetic to begin with, and during the crash the legs detached and flew out the window?

The careless driver was rushing to the hospital because his sister had fallen from a 34 story building and had landed on top of an apple shack that happened to be infiltrated by 86 jewel theives who were asking for directions to Central Park. The sister had 16 lacerations and a fractured tongue. So the carteless driver was in a rush to get his sister to hospital. Of course, the accident improved her condition dramaticly....

His legs were paralyzed ( permanently broken) so therefore nothing major had really happened to him

Here is a pretty hard riddle

You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?
