RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

rogue: something unexpected that usually counters the meta-game.
meta-game: what people are playing/what's good.
uber: super powerful awesome.

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

^Good card that everybody uses and the whole format is like based on it. Like GG and magmortar used to be archetype cards.

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

^^^^^^
nope, an archetype is a DECK thats overplayed, if anyone techs a gardevoir (1-0-1) in their _____(input random deck), would you call it an archetype?

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

Archetypes are NOT overplayed decks.
Archetypes are decks that are famous, people know them, and they're often played. Examples include:
Skittles
AMU
Kingdra
Plox
Empozong

Some are more up-to-date then others, ofcourse.

True, but the most overplayed decks are archetypes. Aah, so confusing...

Kinda boils down to
"Every cow is a mammal, but not every mammal is a cow"

Pretty much goes here too.
"Every overplayed deck is an archetype, but not every archetype is an overplayed deck"

Just look at Skittles. It IS recognized as an archetype, but its not Tier 1 by far.

Oh, and get on MSN you lazy bugger >.>

Learn the difference. It could save your life.

Btw, uber is not a term generally used and shouldn't be, other than to promote your own deck. You couldn't call a deck uber unless it has a perfect win record. (which, as far as I know, no single deck has)

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

objection!!!

GG had last season (or plox, mieren******)

and somewhere in this format, there is a deck that has an outstanding win record, there was every time.
only with plox it was obvious because of their evo line.

Sorry, but G&G/PLOX racked up quite a few losses last season... therefore, it does not have a perfect win record... just look at Worlds 2007-08's results...

Noobs using archetypes make and archetype deck look bad. Simple. But since even noobs use archetypes, means

1. It's famous because it's good.
2. It's popular so everybody uses it so even noobs want to follow.
3. It dominates because everybody wants to use archetypes that there is no room for other decks.

I was referring to red blastiose's post, he worded it in a way that makes me think he thinks that G&G/PLOX had no losses last season... World's results showed that they got high ranks, but I'm 100% sure it didn't win every division...

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

just asking, can u win if ur not using archetype? guess that's why they opt for one

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

The correct term for G&G is a cookie cutter. No matter how many times you stamp a deck out with that same mold, it'll be quite similar. Maybe a few weird edges (tech) but generally the same.

Last season I had one of the best matchups against G&G. Shame Magnezone's a cookie cutter now.

Btw, the actual definition of an Archetype, as founded by players across the nation a long time ago, is a Card class with common support outside a printed class on the card (if you play Yu-gi-oh, Elemental Hero's are one of the most famous archetypes in the world).

Yes, anything is possible... Besides, some of these combos started as rouge decks! You just have to be smart about it!

Also, after GC hits North America, everything will be total chaos...

RE: Rogue,Meta, Uber, what else...

total chaos er.hmm waiting for it.everyones waiting for rampardos to kick raichus butt.
