Hi ya!!

Im a big fan og rogue deck`s and im allways thinking about new rogue decks too make. But what do you think a good rogue deck should contain...??
When im making a rogue i allways want to have the suprise factor in the deck, but i altso want quickness/speed in the deck (this offcourse depends on the metagame) But i allways want that little extra in my rogues

So...how do you picture a "perfect" rogue? ;)

It varies too much. There are way too much combination and variations of different strategies.

But a rogue deck should at least be fast. That's my sort of benchmark.

Along with speed, it should be able to hold well enough together that it doesn't flop a few turns in. Rogues should be able to counter at least one of the top metagame decks out there, but don't shoot for all of them.

In my opinion, a perfect rogue is one nobody will expect, can T2 Donk on occasion, avoids that happening to its-self, holds up well, deals heavy damage, snipes, is fast, and yeah... counters the top decks in the meta game. Sounds sort of like a dream deck doesn't it...

All a Rogue deck needs is one thing, sensational suprise. I like to think that the more my opponents have no idea what I'm doing, the better. Go ahead and tech in an Unown ? and a Steelix, they'll never see it coming, lol.

Lets just face it. the perfect rogue doesn't exist, and if it does, it won't exist for long. It will become Meta-game.

^ You're right. That's why when I come up with something epic, I save it for Worlds. The next day, it goes out of date!

Well, there's three main types of rogues you can play:

1) Two cards that have great synergy, but nobody plays them (I dunno... there's millions... be creative).

2) Decks made up of cards that SPECIFICALLY counter the metagame, and nothing else (like Arithmetic did).

3) Random cards thrown together, which, obviously isn't part of the metagame - For good reason.

Agreed. This is my true favorite type.

I have issues with this type really. Someone built a deck to specifically counter GG for Worlds. Unfortunately, that wasn't the whole Metagame there.

3) Random cards thrown together, which, obviously isn't part of the metagame - For good reason.
Welcome to about half of the types of decks plays. No joke. How can someone think Swampert and Infernape have synergy >.<

Zyflair - your comment on #3 cracked me up. This is what I hope for, for my kids at cities - that they will face mostly #3 decks - I do hope they have a few tough ones though.

I think rouge decks are surprises to see what their strategy is. Also, to be different then others.

rogue will become metagame.so thats kind a problem
Not true. Great rogues can do excellent in a metagame but may fail to be picked up if it doesn't work in every metagame around the world.

Zyflair is right. I swept BR's with a rogue deck and only 2 other people ever considered playing out of about the 50 who know about. One of those being Shadowwiidragon.

Celebi23 your so mean, you don't have to rub it in my face. I used a different deck for fun.

^ Come off on it.

A couple of things you could stick in rouges

Pluspower - Complete surprise when you use it if your opponent doesn't play Gengar.
Unown ? - Tech as much as you like and your opponent will never guess which of the four/fives you have in your hand.

You can use anything in rogue as long if it works.
