Rogue`s

The perfect roque will never exist, neither will the perfect archetype, everything can be countered.

I'm not being mean. I was proving a point. I don't care whatsoever if you copy my decks. Many have done it. "Imitation is the highest form of flattery." What part of it made it seem like I was rubbing something in your face?

I object.

GG was the perfect archetype. Even Jason, who admitted that Empozong had a better matchup, stated that it was close to unstoppable. A few people at worlds tried to play anti-GG decks (some I encountered myself) and it couldn't defeat GG. The speed and disruption (no to mention power with Gallade. Good lord.) was horrible and close to unstoppable.

Then there's Sneasal, the first card in Pokemon TCG that was banned. It slaughtered every deck there was. As Papi/Manny put it, it found a way to counter and win. That was a completely unstoppable card then.

Sneasel? From what set? I have always seen Sneasel's only purpose as being to evolve into Weavile.

That is just sick! A basic (a Darkness type, too) capable of dealing 120 damage (with luck, but not applying Sp. Dark energy). Yeah. I never managed to beat a GG deck all of last season (that's why I did so poorly). It could be countered, though. If you play a Gardevoir deck that runs no Supporters, Wailord for Gallade, and a psychic type for Gardevoir, you're good off. It was a sick force, though.

Not to mention for only 2 energy, 0 retreat cost, no weakness, 60 HP (which was not near as bad as it is now) and a resistance to boot. Even with the flips, it averages out 80 damage (with 2 Special Dark energy) T2, which is great by even the DP era's standard.

Let's not forget the other card that was banned too, which was Slowking from the same set. Put that as a tech in Sneasel.....oh gosh.

Anyway, on topic, the perfect rogue in my opinion would be unknown, at least somewhat fast, had a good strategy, and good fare well against at least most of the metagame.

GG was relatively easy to beat, but not if you wanted a deck that could stand a chance against anything but GG.

Slowking's stacking power was virtually the best locker then.

All good decks need to fare well in the metagame or it wouldn't be a good deck. To me, rogues aren't played because the skill required to carry out the strategy is too difficult for inexperienced players.

Relatively easy to what? Magmortar beats Leafeon, Empozong beats Magmortar, and nothing had a clear-cut way to knock down GG.

While I don't think GG was the perfect archetype, it was VERY good. I still remember when people said it would be a bad deck....ahh....

Anyways, I think rogues are unplayed because they require more thought put into them. Some people are just brainwashed into playing archetypes.

Therer were worse things than GG in the history of the PTCG. Sneasel, for instance, was one of them. IT was the perfect deck then.
