22 Pokemon:
4-4 Scizor prime
3-3-3 Samurott (ability)
4 Skarmory (UD/COL)
1 Bouffalant revenge (bw)

21 T/S/S
2 Judge
3 Pokemon collector
4 Pokemon communication
2 Interviewers questions
2 Proffesor Oaks new theory
2 Switch
2 Twins
2 Energy Exchanger
2 Rare candy

17 Energy:
4 DCE
4 Rainbow
4 Special metal
5 Metal

Strategy: Get out a scizor prime and either wall your opponent or tank with special metals and the stackable attack.Samurott is to counter fire decks and skarmory is a possible starter and good mid game regrouper when a Scizor is KO'd. Super scoop up and seeker pick up damaged scizors, noctowl for draw power. Tyrogue is to turn 1 do 30 dmg while attaching energy else where and dual ball is to not waste my supporter. Judge is for disruption (main aim) and some hand refreshers to get my pokemon out.

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

Really need some feedback on the list! I am not sure whether to cut the umbreon line and add in a steelix one instead.

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

-x4 Tyrogue [In a Scizor Prime deck, Skarmory is a much better starter to get the SP.Metals on Scizor]
-x1 Umbreon [A 2-2 line well get the job done]
-x1 Eevee [^^^^^^^^^^^]
-x1 Pluspower [Not needed in this deck]

+x4 Skarmory UD/CoL [Best starter in a Scizor Prime deck]
+x1 Scizor Prime [A 4-4 line is very much needed as the main attacker]
+x1 Syther [^^^^^^^^^^^]
+x1 Rotom UD [Acts like Azelf (Switch a card on top of your deck with a face down Prize card)]

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

I'll try the changes, thanks. What do you think of the idea of it becoming a scizor/steelix deck rather than an scizor/umbreon deck? The main thing I like with Tyrogue though is that I can T1 ko a Cleffa while attaching my energies elsewhere. Also it will 50% of the time not take damage T2 as it will be asleep. I also think that Rotom doesn't allow me to see which 2 cards are being swapped I may be swapping a scizor or a crucial card for a IQ when I already have enough energy. I will consider it though thanks.

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

You will need a counter against Fire, which will be everywhere in HS-on. You could try Lanturn Prime or Zoroark, but the next set (Red Collection in Japan) will give you more options. Umbreon is pretty useless in HS-on IMO.

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

Problem is Lanturn will get revenge KO'd and takes a while to set up while with zoroark I would need a plus power and DCE which would take up a lot of room in the deck. I am considering partnering scizor with vileplume to make a lock deck, thoughts?

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

Hmmm... The thing with the the Scizor/Vileplume Deck is that you won't really have a good starter to set up Vileplume fast. (Much needed Spirtomb, but as we all know, It will be rotated) *Sigh*

Scizor Prime variants normally are fast, but, with the format the way it will be, the Vileplume will just be too slow. As 'Julliant' Said, "You will need a counter against fire."

Reshiboar will probably be tier 1. Hope this helped.

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

Yes I know but I can't think of a good counter. I guess vileplume would be a bit slow but it would work well. I may have to wait till the red collection is released.

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

Maybe. I will be making a Scizor Prime deck for my BR coming up next weekend. I will see what goes well with it and I will let you know. :)

PS. Do we know any cards that are coming out in Red Collection???

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

Ok thanks, I recommend you do bring it to battle roads as it is a great deck especially when paired with the right partner which seems not to have appeared in a HGSS on format. Yes we do know because the Japanese set has already been released and we can see the translations. Does anyone think Scizor will work well with Beartic next season?

RE: Scizor/Umbreon HGSS ON

don't use rotom unless you have alph. even then, it's not very useful. I don't suggest putting it in this deck. definitely need a counter against reshiram. I think zoroark would be the best thing for that.

RE: TurnOr (Scizor/Lanturn) HGSS ON

I've been playtesting with Scizor Prime, and I found this list to be very productive and fast, you don't have to follow it, I'm just letting you know what works for me, and if you see anything you like, try testing it out!

Pokemon (20):
4-4 Scizor Prime (Scyther UD)
2-2 Lanturn Prime
1-1 Dodrio UD (Doduo UD)
3 Skarmory UD
2 Smeargle CoL
1 Bouffalant BW

T/S/S (24):
4 Pokemon Communication
3 Switch (Will Probably Take these out for Pokemon Catcher.)
3 Energy Exchanger
3 Pokemon Collector
3 PONT
2 Professor Elm's Training Method
2 Seeker
2 Twins
1 Professor Juniper
1 Flower Shop Lady

Energy (16):
4 Special {M}
3 {L}
5 {M}
3 {C}{C}
1 Rainbow Energy
Dodrio provides a free retreat for anything in the deck, allowing you to switch out Scizor, Lanturn, or even Bouffalant and Seeker to get Energy or Damage off your Pokemon. Bouffalant will help for Revenge-kills. 3 PONT and 1 Juniper should be enough Draw Power for your deck. Energy Exchanger will help you exchange your Basic Metals for Special Metals, or if you need an Electric or DCE you could grab those.

The rest is pretty much self-explanatory, hope you like it!

RE: TurnOr (Scizor/Lanturn) HGSS ON

Pokemon: 24

4-4 Scizor Prime
4 Skarmory UD
3-3 Lanturn Prime
2-2 Dodrio UD
2 Shaymin UL

Energy: 18

4 Special Metal
4 DCE
6 Metal Energy
4 Electric

T/S/S: 18

3 Pokemon COllector
3 Pokémon Communcation
3 PONT
2 PETM
1 Flower Shop Lady
2 Interviewer's Question
2 Twins
2 Seeker

Here's my current list. Similar to Gritt's but I don't think have a 1-1 tech is good in this format. And the Rotom and Alph Lithograph is silly.
Shaymin is to move energies to another Scizor, retreat, Seeker, shazam.
Dodrio is awesome for the free retreat.
Haven't tested it out, I should probably add in more Communications, and possibly take out the Shaymins for something else.

RE: TurnOr (Scizor/Lanturn) HGSS ON

Thanks for the lists they help a lot but my only question Gritt is why do you run 3 switches if you run Dodrio as it gives everything free retreat? Deepcrow don't you find it better to run 2-3 energy exchanger rather than the 18 energy? Bouffalant is here for Umbreon as well as anything else with low hp. Anyway what do you guys think of this list?

Pokemon - 21
4 Skarmory
4-4 Scizor prime
2-2 Lanturn prime
2-2 Noctowl
1 Bouffalant (the revenge one)

T/S/S - 23
2 PONT
3 Energy exchanger
1 Dual ball
2 Seeker
1 PETM
4 Communication
3 Collector
2 Judge
2 Twins
2 Switch
1 Juniper

Energy - 16
4 Special metals
3 DCE
3 Electric
1 Rainbow
5 Metal

RE: TurnOr (Scizor/Lanturn) HGSS ON

-2-2 Lanturn
-1 PETM
-3 electric
-1 dual ball
-1 juniper

+2-1-2 samurott
+2 rainbow
+1 DCE
+2 rare candy

Fire decks will eat you alive and lanturn is not a viable counter to fire imo because it gets OHKOD by fire decks poster child Reshiram. Also Samurott can abuse DCE if needed and rainbows will work towards the water requirement on heavier things like Emboar. Also Samurott can kill umbreon as you mentioned id leave Bouffalant in however since RDL will be seeing a ton of play this format.

Edit~ id probably also do -1 twins, -1 exchanger for 2 IQ to pull special energies more easily.

I'm not sure about this as getting out a stage 2 against reshiboar is hard and if you do manage it they will have taken almost all their prizes. I will consider this change though.

True unfortunately lanturn prime needs too many energies to be OHKO right back. Samurott has a bit more staying power as an anti fire tech. If the main thing you want to counter is reshiboar I suggest 2-2 Zoroark with either a few special dark or plupower as it will OHKO reshiram and RDL.
