Here is my sand team:
[animate]tyranitar[/animate]
Tyranitar
Ability: Sand stream
@ Passho Berry
Adamant (+Atk -SpA)
252 Atk / 68 SpD / 168 HP / 20 Def
-Stone Edge
-Protect
-Crunch
-Earthquake
My sand streamer and has a move/answer to almost everything. It is the heart and soul of my team because of the sand stream, and I like it because it has such a big move pool and has a high attack stat, so it can use it's moves well. Passho berry is to make some attacks not kill it, like surf and sometimes even hydro pump. I find myself sometimes not fainting in a really key point of the game with these types of berries so I like to use them a lot. Passho berry is also very good because my team, being mainly a ground type team, is very vulnerable to water type attacks. No speed EV's is because it won't outspeed much even with speed EV's, and it will pretty much make sure I win the weather war.
[animate]gastrodon[/animate]
Gastrodon
Ability: Storm Drain
@ Rindo Berry
Quiet (+SpA -Spe)
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 HP
-Recover
-Earth power
-Muddy Water
-Ice Beam
I replaced Heatran with this mainly because of all the trouble I had beating rain teams. This gives rain teams a lot of problems, forcing them to not use water-type moves on it, forcing them to use moves like Ice Beam, but with Recover, 252 EV's invested in HP, and 4 EV's invested in SpD, this is an effective wall against any Pokemon on rain teams, save Ludicolo, but once I've taken care of Ludicolo this is ready to wreck havok on any normal rain team. Ice Beam is to hit pesky Dragonites and Kingdras for super effective damage, Muddy Water is a nice dual-hitting STAB move. Earth Power is also a nice STAB that can be abused a lot when Cressalia or Wash Rotom are out. The reason why I have no speed invested is because really the only time I'll be using this is when trick room is up.
[animate]cresselia[/animate]
Cresselia
Ability: Levitiate
@ Leftovers
Bold (+Def -Atk)
204 SpD / 72 Def / 232 HP
-Light Screen
-Psychic
-Ice beam
-Trick Room
I mentioned having a lot of trouble with rain teams, and this Cressalia joins Gastrodon in turning that matchup into a favorable one. I use it to set up a trick room to make the abused Swift Swim users (Ludicolo, Kingdra, etc.) become the slowest of the slow. After a trick room Gastrodon becomes the fastest, not to mntion it being a wall. Light Screen basically makes this take almost no damage from any special attack, and helps gastrodon take less damage to tank more. Ice beam is to hit Dragonites and Kingdras, while Psychic offers a nice STAB move. And before people say "get a better nature," I know, I'm trying to get a better nature right now.
[animate]garchomp[/animate]
Garchomp
Ability: Sand Veil
@ Haban Berry
Jolly (+Spe -SpA
252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
-Dragon Claw
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Protect
Another sweeper. Some people might be thinking why not dragon gem and draco meteor?! My answer to that is I really hate having to lower my stats to use a move. I know I have to confuse myself for outrage but I can switch out and fix that. The Haban Berry is there to survive outrages, dragon claws, and occasionally draco meteors. I use protect to make them take more sandstorm damage, and surviving my other pokemon's earthquake without getting hurt. This has an amazing attack.
[animate]excadril[/animate]
Excadrill
Ability: Sand Rush
@ Focus Sash
Adamant (+Atk -SpA)
252 Atk / 56 HP / 200 Spe
-Earthquake
-Swords Dance
-Rock Slide
-X-Scizzor
A very good sweeper. After a swords dance I can deal massive amounts of damage while moving fast because of sand rush. Rock slide is amazing after a swords dance taking a lot of both of my opponents pokemon's HP. I'm debating putting leftovers on him instead of cressalia but still do not know. The Focus Sash basically guarantees that I get at least one move after my swords dance. This has SUCH a high attack its amazing as a sweeper.
[animate]rotom wash[/animate]
Wash Rotom
Ability: Levitate
@ Choice Scarf
Modest (+SpA -Atk)
252 SpA / 56 HP / 184 Spe / 16 SpD
-Dark Pulse
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt
-Volt Switch
This adds on to the theme of making the rain matchup good. I like Rotom a lot because of levitate so I can abuse earthquake from other pokemon when he is out. It also takes care of water types just fine. Nothing really walls this, taking out things like Politoed's, Cressalias, other ground-type Pokemon, and many more. I'm am debating taking the speed EV's out and replacing them with Special Defense EV's and taking Choice Scarf off for Life orb, and make it more of a set that sweeps when trick room is up.
