Scared About Card Rotations

Im learning about everything to get into Competitive Pokemon TCG and one thing that concerns me that i cant seem to find the information on.
When do sets rotate out?
How often does this happen?
When will the next one happen?
How many sets rotate out each time?

As a newbie on a budget trying to be able to play competitively with a deck for a while while i get ready for changing/multiple decks

Please and thank you for your concern.

A rotation useually happens every September and it's the older sets in format that are the ones to get rotated out, for example the upcoming rotation will most likely rotate out the BW series.

Set rotations happen at the end of every season (September), and while there has been a mid-season rotation in the past, it's not really something to worry about. Generally 3-5 sets rotate at the time, and it's really impossible to predict the next one (last rotation only rotated 3, but the one before that rotated 5).

I was in the same position as you when I first started--I began right around this time in a season and was very concerned about a rotation and having to adapt to it. I would not worry about it too much--learning the fundamentals of competitive play is far more important than the format you're doing it in, and decks aren't so expensive nowadays, so having to adapt to a new format in all likelihood won't cost any more than having to adapt to a new set coming out. My only advice is to avoid buying Tropical Beach if you were planning to. I doubt you were, but it's a 150$+ card that's probably getting rotated this September.

My personal guess would be BCR-on, but if you want to be safe, I would probably tell you plasma storm on. There's no way that they'd get rid of plasma blast, so they'll probably keep the othe plasma sets with it.

I made a list on a Thread called "The Next Rotation" including the cards that will/might rotate out on September, if you want to taka a look ata it. ;)
