mmm... my question is about castway:

How to play castway? search tool, energy and trainer(obligatory three)? Or any of three?

and my other question is:

Double Raibow energy and raibow energy are every energy in the discard pile??

Like what Bytheway 1 said, you must search for EACH of them. If you can't find any one of them, you can't use this card. That is why this card more useful in a Pokemon Tool deck but you can still use it in any deck BUT you must have Pokemon Tool in it & I'm sure every deck has Supporter & Energies in it...

DRE & RE count as a single energy card like Basic Energy in the discard pile. Only when they are in play & attached to a pokemon, they will be counted as energieS...

I realize something about your post..
Why do you always put a TC at the end of your post, you can put it in your signature instead of putting it at the end of your post...

Hmm... There's little I can add to this conversation, but I will say something. Perhaps he has that in his post much like how people decorate their posts with icons and lyrics on other sites?

I know but wouldn't it be a lot easier if he just put it in the signature rather than he uploading it every time & paste the link at the of the post??

You can still play Castaway and only get an Energy and a Supporter. I used to play Kingler d with them, and I've asked my PTO about that. You can get any combination. That question is asked a lot when I play it lol :p

ok, i can search any combination of 1 trainer, 1 energy or 1 tool.

but double enrgy that, es colorless energy in pile discard or not??

You don't search out of your discard pile either way, only your deck. And it's only basic energy. If the card has a message box at the bottom saying Special Energy, you can't search it with Castaway. Basic Dark, Basic Metal, Psychic, Water, Grass, Lightning, Fighting, and Fire are all options.

So you mean, we can still play Castaway even if our deck does not have any Pokemon Tool in it??

According to my PTO, yeah.

You could compare it to using a Drawing card when you don't have enough cards in your deck. You can still use TV Reporter when there's only 1 card left in your deck, it's still a legal action (And of course you wouldn't lose right away since you don't deck yourself until you can't draw a card at the beginning of your turn).

Thanks... :D
Ok, if I don't have any Pokemon Tool in my deck, that means I can use Castaway to search in any combination, am i right??
Thanks in advance.... :D

Yeah, it's cards like these that help my Noctowl DP deck. You can get the same number of cards as your opponent easily, since you can just decide whether you need to pick 3,2 or 1 card and in case of the Tool(and maybe the energy if you haven't played this turn yet), you can decide whether to play it immediately or not. Works great.

You get a Supporter and an Energy but no Tool, yeah. You can't get 2 Supporters and an Energy though, just one of each of what's left.

I had this one time where I used Budew to search my deck for a Trainer card. I found only one, but I didn't want it, so I simply didn't take it. My friend/opponent asked if this was OK and it was. I think this is a little bit alike that situation.

You can choose to search and not get anything, because, in theory, you could have nothing to get in your deck. Your opponent would probably know you'd have something to take, but according to the rules your deck isn't considered public knowledge, so technically, in theory, they can't know. Recently it was considered legal to do this, so you can play a Celio's Network at the very beginning of the game and grab nothing if you wish. You still have to at least shuffle your deck though.

Your discard pile is a completely different thing, since it is public knowledge, and if a card says search you are forced to take whats there (On a side note there was an errata on Holon Farmer I think, and you can get 0 - 3 Pokemon but you must get all energy).

Wow that makes Holon Farmer pretty weird. o_O
And I already heard the public knowledge thing somewhere before, it's quite cool. But when I just told my opponent cuz I was curious whether it was legal, I don't really care that he knew I had only one (useless) trainer in my deck left. It was just a prerelease anyway.
And now that I look at it, there are quite many cards that 'force' you to do stuff. Of course, when you play em, you play em deliberately, but it's still somewhat creepy. =P

They can know, and at the beginning of the game it's obvious you have Pokemon in your deck, but in theory, they can't know and they can't prove it, so that ruling was made I guess lol.

Yeah, things that force you to do things are usually involved with the field. Windstorm, Rare Candy, Switch, etc can't be played if you can't follow through.

I've heard that Briney can't be played if you only have one Pokemon on your field lol. Which is sorta dumb since there's no difference between suiciding like that or just scooping and giving up lol

DRE count as an energy card in the discard.
Multi is a colorless energy in the discard pile.
only can got back with something like Delcatty ex.
