Energy: 8
  • 4 Lightning Energy
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

Seismitoad and Manectric will become main attackers with muscle band attached. The bats create additional damage to assist with KO or create damage to bench. This will also work well against those that use several item cards to power up. In addition the goal is to get silent lab in quickly to prevent abilities. I am also considering maybe replace muscle band or something else with Rock Guard for Seismitoad.

Another idea would be to replace the Shaymin with Lugia (AO 68/98)

Let me know what you guys think.

With the coming Fighting fury belt, it boost Seismitoad EX and Manectric EX health to 220 and 210HP respectively, although sacrificing 10 damage per attack. Another draw back would be Crobat can't use Fighting fury belt (Crobat deal 100 damage to Mewtwo EX and Lucario EX with band). So i think i nedd some testing to see which item fits in better.

Rough Sea would be another choice for stadium. Although Silent lab shut opponents' Shaymin EX, it's limited to basic only. Bronxong, Aromatisse, Zoroark and bats are not affected. Given your opponent is slowed down by quaking punch already, knocking out a 220HP toad with 30 recovery every turn would be painful.

Thanks for the tips. I forgot about the Fighting fury belt and might work out better than muscle band. What do you think about rock guard though, I mean 60 damage not on your turn is pretty effective to getting some KO on your turn, especially for the higher HP EXs. Overall how do you think the deck will fair against some of the other frequently used ones out there

by saying rock guard, are you playing in expend format?

No one else has any suggestions for my deck? Thought there would be a little more insight on here
Just fyi: many players now may be more focused on Expanded decks right now given the upcoming (US) Regional tournaments. Just may take a little more time to get more feedback.

After reviewing your deck, I made some observations; IMO :

The sole Level Ball is insufficient to get access to the necessary Zubats and Golbats in a timely manner.

"Experienced" players will nullify your Head Ringers at some point; so, you may only slow your opponents down a turn or 2, if at all (your opponent could Item-lock you first in several ways).

The 5 card-draw Supporters are woefully insufficient. Note that your Silent Lab will also nullify your Shaymin EX's Setup Ability. Have you considered Octillery at all for more consistent card-draw support?

I'd suggest the following deck changes for your consideration:

-1 Team Flare Grunt - you already have a Xerosic which is more versatile
-2 Trainer's Mail - 4 seem excessive for this particular deck
-1 Ultra Ball - 4 seem excessive when you can also everage Dive and Level Balls
-2 Head Ringer - slots needed for higher priority cards

+2 Level Ball
+2 PB Observations / Shauna
+1 Rough Seas - for healing, as well as another counter Stadium
+1 Lightning (or Bunnelby (PRC 121) to recover and recycle discarded resources)

- - - - - or - - - - -

-1 Shaymin EX - not really needed with more, consistent, supplemental card-draw
-1 Team Flare Grunt - you already have a Xerosic which is more versatile
-2 Trainer's Mail - 4 seem excessive for this particular deck
-1 Ultra Ball - 4 seem excessive when you can also everage Dive and Level Balls
-2 Head Ringer - slots needed for higher priority cards

+2 Level Ball
+2 Remoraid
+2 Octillery
+1 Rough Seas - for healing, as well as another counter Stadium

I hope you find these comments helpful.

Tux,

Thanks for taking the time in reviewing my decklist and also for the tip on Regionals.

I did consider Octillery as well as Garbodor but wasn't sure to to really fit them into my deck. I do like the idea of Octillery for the draw support in addition to Bunnelby for his duel attack. Discarding one of your opponents cards can really put a hurting on them. What do you think about the (4) Professor Sycamore's? I always hate discarding parts of my hand but I guess bunnelby could help with that.

If I remove the Shaymin EX all together in place of (2) Remoraid, (2) Octillery, (1) Bunnelby. This gives me 20 Pokemon which I think might be a little excessive, but not sure. I want to get Seismitoad out as an attacker as quick as possible to prevent opponent from using item cards not sure what the correct setup would be.

Thanks again for the help

In either case whether you build Seismitoad-Manectric-Garbodor or Seismitoad-Manectric-Octillery, the deck's strategy differs, and you'll want to include the necessary cards to support that particular strategy.

I have used Bunnelby (PRC 121) in several different decks. In your particular case since you are not running M Manectric EX, Bunnelby can be used to recover and recycle, for example, your precious few energy (either Basic and/or DC). And, it's a good starting Pokémon to; as you've noted, it can discard card(s) from your opponent's deck. Just remember to keep the deck (whichever variation you decide) focused first and foremost. The great news is that you have plenty of time to easily play-test different variations.

Lastly, consider creating multiple deck discussion threads, 1 for each of the deck variations you are considering.

What do you think about the (4) Professor Sycamore's? I always hate discarding parts of my hand but I guess bunnelby could help with that.
As some of my close Poké pals would attest, I tend to be a bit "slow" in adopting certain "proven" Pokémon principles, like running 4 Professor Sycamore in a deck. If you do run a Shaymin EX, Octillery as supplemental card-draw support and a strong Ball "engine" to facilitate your bench setup, you may not need 4 Professor Sycamore, but keep in mind that running 4 maximizes your chances of drawing into 1. Re-balancing your card-draw Supporters types and counts results from testing the different combinations till you find the one that's right for you.

If I remove the Shaymin EX all together in place of (2) Remoraid, (2) Octillery, (1) Bunnelby. This gives me 20 Pokemon which I think might be a little excessive, but not sure.

Note that there are Seismitoad-Bats, Manectric-Bats and even Manectric-Seismitoad decks being played. I have not yet encountered a Seismitoad-Manectric-Bats deck. Given all the stuff you want, the Pokémon count does seem a bit high compared to other decks. But, create your deck based upon your idea; make it as efficient and effective as possible; and play-test, play-test, play-test, play-test. If the deck isn't working, tweak it, and play-test more. Keep in mind that 1 possible outcome is that you may dismantle the deck all-together knowing that it just didn't work - but you tried. :)

I want to get Seismitoad out as an attacker as quick as possible to prevent opponent from using item cards not sure what the correct setup would be.
With the 3 Toads and 4 Zubats (that can evolve into a free-retreating Golbat T2), you have a good chance of Quaking Punch'ing your opponent T2. You then need to figure out how to easily get your Manectric EX into the Active position when needed...

We actually tried this exact same deck at cities last month. It didn't work out too well. Seismatoad doesn't really fit in well with this deck.

I played this and got third place with it at States last year. It was a completely different format then, but I remember being impressed with how it seemed to have a way to beat just about any deck I encountered. The deck was very versatile, and I think it's still worth a shot, though I'll admit I'm not 100$ sure how relevant it still is. I know that my list played 3 Manectric and 2 Seismitoad instead of the other way around. If you're having trouble getting bats onto the Bench turn one, a Battle Compressor / Brigette engine might be worth looking into. It works better in Wobbuffet Crobat decks, since you can grab Wobbuffet with it too, but it's still something to consider.

Thanks for all the input, especially Tux. Your breakdown gives me a lot to think about on creating a deck.

Thanks for the data point

What do you mean by completely different format? Its still standard I believe...

As this will be the first deck I build I would rather not put in the extra time and cost if it is not relevant anymore. I tried to look at the metagame forum and it seems like they are still taking about Manectric and M-Man. I wanna build a competitive deck as my goal is to start playing in local tournaments.

You can make this deck very competitive with a few changes.

-2 seismatoads
-1 team flare grunt
-4 DCE

+2 Manectric
+1 head ringer
+4 special electric or electric energy

So just a Manectric/Bats then? I think I saw some deck list on here for that.

Also does anyone know a good/free way to try these online? I signed up for PTCGO but you have to like earn all these cards. Its not easy to get the cards you want to build a test deck

I mean that last year when I played the deck, the format was BCR-PCL I believe.

This came from another deck I was trying to put together. Main goal is to get Seismitoad out to item lock while setting up manectric and bats. Octillery provides additional draw support needed to get the bats out as well as Sycamore, Birch, and Shana. Instead of running 4 Sycamore I broke it up to still provide the draw support but without always discarding my hand.

I have 2 spots still open and not sure what to fill it with or if this deck would actually be any good in the current meta. Open to all ideas and tweaks

The deck can still work. The problem I saw with it was the DCE that you would only want to use for Shaymin and Seismatoad. If you pull those but dont have an electric energy you're basically shutting down half of your deck trying to find what you need. The symetry is there for what you want the cards to do, the problem is getting that cards you want. I see the problem going both ways. 1st had Seismatoad but no DCE or 1st hand Manetric but no electric energy.

Yes just manectric and bats. It's called the BATMAN deck. Basically you want to get 2 manectrics out, then 3 zubats on the bench to start adding their damage up as you evolve them. Using Overun with manectric to do 20/40 dmg on active if you have a muscle band attached, and 20 dmg to one of their bench. You would then use overrun against an EX that you attached a head ringer to or if they have a tool attached already for 120/140 if you have a muscle band attached. Super Scoopups or AZ is then used to pick up your damaged manectric and bring your fresh bench manectric out for more damage. Escentially with the use of bats your dealing enough damage to their active or benched that it should be a OHKO everytime. Very fun, easy and powerful deck.

Couple questions for you which may help you with your deck. What's the main goal of the deck? If it's to item lock with Seismatoad, then you should run 4, that way you have a better chance of pulling one off the 1st draw. If item locking is your goal, then you should build your deck based on item locking. If you're item locking to build Manectric, I'm not sure why. Manectric is easy to build up as he requires 1 energry to attack and do 20-40 dmg (if muscle band attached) to active and 20 to the bench. Turn 2 with a Manectric you should be doing 120-140 damage to their active. Not running head ringers allows your opponent to not attach a tool to their pokemon which shuts down Manectrics 120-140 dmg attack. Running 2 Remoraid and 2 Octillery, I get the idea behind it, but that's taking up bench space at this point. If you want bats on your bench for the damage they put out, you're not going to have room unless you run a Sky field. Rough Seas doesnt flow with your deck as well. Just healing a pokemon for 30 dmg is ok, but doesnt flow with what you're trying to do with your deck. Same with Red Card. It's a card to disrupt your opponent, but again only running 1, what's the point? I wont say how I would change your deck right now until I see what your end goal is for this deck, then we can adjust it to how you see fit.

I will send you a PM to a website that is completely FREE to play any deck, from any era online.
