I am new to competitive play and I want some advice on what to play in a Seismitoad Deck. Here is my current deck list:

Pokemon:
  • 4 Seismitoad EX
  • 3 Thundurus EX
  • 2 Trubbish
  • 2 Garbodor (Garbotoxin)
  • 1 Jirachi EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:
  • 4 N
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 Muscle Band
  • 2 Float Stone
  • 3 Hypnotoxic Laser
  • 3 Enhanced Hammer
  • 2 Virbank City Gym
  • 3 Shauna
  • 3 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Escape Rope
  • 2 Skyla
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 2 Colress
Energy:
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
  • 8 Lightning Energy
Strategy:

Any advice on how I can improve this deck would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I would recommend dropping the Thundurus EX, since that card never sees any play at the moment. Most Seismitoad decks these days run multiple copies of Shaymin EX from Roaring Skies, and if we get an XY on rotation after worlds this year, then you won't be able to play your Garbodor cards again. same goes for float stone, Skyla, Colress, lasers and virbank gyms.
If you intend to play with these cards until the rotation is officially confirmed however then by all means go for it. Those cards are really good in this type of deck.

For now I would make these changes.
-3 Thunderus EX
-8 Electric energy
-2 Skyla

+1 Trubbish (More chance of getting Garbodor into play)
+1 Float stone (More of these for Garbodor)
+1 Virbank City gym (2 is not enough. especially when your opponent has more stadiums then you)
+1 Hypnotoxic laser (you need these at max 4 for the best chance against your opponent)
+4 Crushing hammers (these are great for disruption against your opponent)
+5 Water energy (since you have no need for electric energy, with Thundurus gone, water provides Seismitoad with the basic energy, and can use it's second attack Grenade hammer, as a late game finisher.)

I too run a Seismitoad EX deck. My current list was posted a whle ago: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/threads/seismitoad-ex-garbodor-m-manectric-ex.124500/#post-2724916

A group (8) of us gathered at a friend's house last night and play tested for several hours. There were a variety of decks played including: Lando-Bats, Night March, P Kyogre EX, Seismitoad EX, Dr Rayquaza, Gengar EX, etc.

Like you, I've also included an L Poké (Manectric EX in my case) as an alternative attacker. In addition, I have 1-1 Garbodor line, but decided from some playtesting, I need to bump this back up to a 2-2 line for greater consistency.

What might appear to be odd is the presence of Leafeon (PLF) in the deck list. Although it is not considered a "natural" Seismitoad EX partner, I'm finding that it is an effective counter to the major G-weak Poké, as well as any deck that may stockpile energy (e.g., M Gardevoir EX or Fairy Box).

I also plan to re-incorporate a Mewtwo EX. In playing against Lando-Bats, my opponent would mostly attack with Lucario EX taking away a Weakness advantage I had over Landorus EX.

One suggestion I would definitely make is for you to playtest with Rough Seas. The healing capability of RS is very, very good and can save your L and W Poké. Another advantage of Rough Seas too is that you can "safely" attack with Toad's Grenade Hammer knowing that the 2x 30 damage can be healed off your benched L and W Poké.
