Sell now, Buy back later?

I pulled a few Mewtwo EX and FA before the tin was announced and sold them before.

Yeah, I'm gonna ask around to see if any stores will get the Plasma Storm on time, they are usually late where I live.

I would say if you are collector do not sell! Until the day comes when you don't want them anymore. I always keep 1 of each card, especially ultra rares. As sets are only in production for a year or less, it will just get harder and (I find) more expensive to get them later. Sometimes there are things like luxray LV X or darkrai EX, but those are rare. Sometimes right after a group of sets is retired they will be cheap (primes) but surely in a few more years will go back up again. I play it safe and keep 1 of each! With new cards, they are very pricey during the prerelease but 2 months after packs hit stores, prices drop and that is also when they reveal things like promo darkrai Ex (which drops price of FA and pack version).

That promo rayquaza LV X that used to be everywhere in tins, is now like $30. Now I wish I had kept my 3rd copy!

Well from what I've seen pokemon card values work like this for current sets:

High cost -------> Rotated out ---------> Low cost -------> High cost, especially if mint.

I think this is pretty normal for trading cards, nothing new really.

I am a collector, but I don't collect newer English stuff so i'm okay. I am attending a Pre Release with my Girlfriend and 2 friends for Plasma Freeze. My girlfriend doesn't play or collect neither does my friend's friend. So we each get 16 packs, 2 deck boxes and 2 Promo's each basically, obviously My they would have to open the packs etc but 16 packs worth of cards which is almost half a box. I'm sure I will get a fre Ultra's and Decent Trainers. I just need someone, when the set list is announced to compile a list for me, of what Is good and worth something in this set.

In Plasma Freeze, Thundurus EX and Deoxys EX will be worth 35$+ each and over 50$ if they are full arts.

Ghetsis normal is around 5$ and Ghetsis full art is likely 20$+.

The UR cards will probably be worth a decent price as well. If there was any set I would buy packs for it's this one. Having two EX's that are going to be worth over 35$ each can help you break even on a box depending on the pull rate I think.

I'm glad I kept all my Lv X's instead of trading them to friends...
With SR Ultra Ball and FA Juniper (possibly) this set is going to be one I would buy if I could (probably not though if I buy singles because I'm almost never going to get them within a reasonable amount of money), and certainly a popular one. Though I'm unable to go to a prerelease...

Yeah, I might get a box instead of go to a prerelease. I might get a box but a friend want's to split it, would it be fair to just have half a box each or to randomly mix the packs ?

I would weigh the packs and keep the heavy ones for myself :D

Just kidding.

Prereleases are overpriced in my opinion. I would get a box if I were you and keep it for myself - that way everyone is happy (just you lol)

Yeah but Pre release including travel and food is £35, a box is £75 lol bit of a difference in money ?.

Ouch, I thought we had it rough here haha. I'd still go for the box because it's a guarantee and you can sell Deoxys and Thundurus for £20 easy if you really want the money back.

I've seen people at prereleases pull all reverse holos, it was actually pretty funny at boundaries crossed watching Landorus destroy some terrible reverse holos! LOL

Also, you will be getting 8 packs for £35 which is £4.375 each pack while a box of 36 packs costs £75 which is £2.083 per pack which a big difference.

It's only really worth paying for a prerelease if you're in it for the experience. Simply buying a box is much cheaper, and you're also much more likely to get at least some good pulls.
