Whoa, what the darn? Are you guys all drunk? Clearly you've never seen this card.

Hi, I'm Shaymin Lv. X. I'm a stage 1 (basically) with 100 HP and the flyest Poke-body EVER. I'm gonna throw a shitton of energy on my good buddy Yanmega from the bench and do a million damage while doing so. Next turn, I'm gonna retreat (lol1retreatcost), have the aforementioned companion Yanmega grab that energy back, and proceed to return all the energy I just attached to him back to my hand. Oh, did I mention Yanmega's 140 HP? I must not have. Let's also not forget his lovely retreat cost of 0!

Worried about getting sniped? Lol, Vespiquen from Undaunted. Worried about status? Run a 2-1-2 Venusaur line, but that's a little out there.

Edit: Feel free to throw in Carnivine as an early startup builder, on top of obvious staples that will get your Shaymin/Yanmega out quickly. Rare Candy or Broken Time-Space for Venusaur (and general speed), or Burned Tower if you really want.

Edit2: Someone should test out this decklist.

10 Supporter

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or has potential? Is it worth playing?

Shaymin isn't really that good one its own because as it appears, its more of a Pokemon used for support. Its Poke-body, Thankfulness, is pretty much why. It boost the HP of all {G} you have out (except for Shaymin). This can actually be a plus to many grass Pokemon out there, like Jumpluff and Torterra Shaymin can also use an attack called Seed Flare. You can attach any number of {G} energies from your hand to any of your Pokemon. If you do, the attack does 40 plus 20 for each energy you attach. OK, maybe it can be a good energy attacher-attacker, but it is probably going to sit on the bench boosting HP most of the time. Thus, Shaymin isn't that good on its own, but it does have some potential and it it can be worth playing.

2. What popular metagame decks is it used in?

As of now, some Jumpluff builds have been notable for running Shaymin Lv.X Basically, Shaymin is there so that Jumpluff won't be OHKOd easily thanks to the body. Otherwise, Shaymin isn't really used that much in today's metagame as it looks like Jumpluff may be the only card it is popular with right now in this current format.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?

I would obviously pair Shaymin with some sort of good grass type. Now, it's not only Shaymin I could try it with, but I could also consider running it with Torterra. Since Torterra has some very high HP, if you can play Shaymin Lv.X down and activate the body, you turn Torterra into one big tanking Pokemon that becomes hard to take down. Now that's one good way Shaymin can be fearsome in my opinion.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you would give it that rating.

I would give Shaymin a 3/5. Shaymin is definitely a decent support Pokemon that can be huge plus to some grass decks because of the Poke-body, which adds 40 more HP to all of your grass Pokemon other than Shaymin. This can make certain Grass Pokemon harder to take down, so Shaymin definitely helps to create some tanking options. Shaymin could even be a good energy attacher at some times thanks to its attack, and it can hit for some good damage too. The main issue, however, is that this card is easily taken down by Dialga G Lv.X. Basically, Dialga G locks the body, and this takes away Shaymin's uses. Plus, there can be some fast attackers that could find a way through Shaymin. Thus, this explains why Shaymin isn't an overly good card, but it does have options nevertheless.

5. How's the artwork?

I find the artwork on Shaymin to look pretty cool. Shaymin seems to show its awesome strength as a legendary, and it even almost looks like its unleashing a Seed Flare attack.
