Shiftry / Floette / Miltank

Pokemon:

  • 4-2-4 Shiftry FF
    3-3 Floette FF(64/106 Flower Veil)
    2 Miltank FF
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 3 Professor Juniper
    2 Colress
    2 Bianca
    2 Pokemon Fan Club
    4 Rare Candy
    4 Ultra Ball
    3 Energy Retrieval
    2 Silver Bangle
    2 Switch
    1 Startling Megaphone
    1 Sacred Ash
Energy:

  • 4 Double Colorless
    12 Grass

Strategy:
The strategy is really simple, get out Shiftry as fast as you can with the candies and attack for 20 damage for every bench pokemon in play. The Floette give Shiftry +20 HP each so with 3 Floettte in play Shiftry has 200 HP. And Miltank is in there because of its top attack which lets you do 80 damage for 1 energy as long as there is at least 1 Shiftry out.

This is just what I have so far. I have been thinking about taking apart 1 or more of my other decks to try to make this deck better. Its biggest weakness is Charizard EX, or possibly Entei EX. Other fire types are troublesome as well, but I can get around them a bit easier on a normal basis.

So what do you guys think? Any suggestions would be nice. I still think ther is quite a bit that I could do differerent with this deck but I figured it was a good start.

RE: Shiftry/Floette/Miltank

You could put in some Verizion EX for some energy acceleration and status immunities. You could also put in Abamonsnow for the match up against fire Pokemon

I would put in Virizion EX if I had any. As for Abomasnow, I don't think it would work for me personally. I now it only takes grass energy to attack but I feel it doesn't help that much. One thought I had though was to tech in a couple rainbow energies and put in 1 or 2 Suicune.

Virizion Abomasnow is actually pretty interesting. It can OHKO all fire types with a muscle band/silver bangle. It only confuses its opponent with virizion out. It also keeps your deck more consistent than adding rainbow energy. This also acts as a nice counter to pyroar, who would otherwise wall suicune and fry the rest of your team. As Abomasnow can survive pyroar's attack even with a muscle band and discarding fire energy. While Suicune will be OHKOed as well.

Well, then perhaps ill give Abomasnow a try. Thanks for the idea. But should I go 1-1 or 2-2?

I'd suggest a 2-2 Abomasnow line - greater access and setup consistency. Your Shiftrys will more than likely be 1HKOd despite the Floettes, IMHO. So, I'd suggest replacing the entire Floette lines with a 2-2 Abomasnow line, a Virizion EX and a Lysandre.

No ACE Spec?

No Skyla? Or an Ace Spec? I personally really like the Floette in here, if they can't OHKO you Shiftry, they'll have a lot of trouble in the prize exchange, which is huge because they're only going to draw one prize anyway. Abomasnow is interesting, and I think it may have some merit, but I think you should start with a 1-1 line and see how much it helps; the Abomasbow is more of a metagame thing IMO. Muscle Band is gonna be better than bangle in that case, because then Abomasnow only needs 2 energy to OHKO Pyroar.

-2 Miltank
-3 Grass
-2 Bianca
-1 Pokemon Fan Club
-2 Silver Bangle
-1 Ultra Ball
-1 DCE

+2 Virizion EX
+1 Abomasnow
+1 Snover
+2 Muscle Band
+3 Skyla
+2 N
+1 Computer Search

I really wanted to add 2 Level Ball in here, but there's not very much wriggle room at all. Also, consider running Dowsing Machine in here, but that's preference.

One of my main problems is I don't have any Virizion EX. Otherwise it would go in my deck. And the reason I play silver bangle instead of muscle band is because I only have 1 muscle band at the moment. Thanks for all of the suggestions so far. Once I make some some changes I will post my deck on here so you guys can see the changes and see what you think.

Yeah, Virizion EX is a pretty expensive card, maybe try playing with some proxies and see how it works for you there.

Yeah, I probably will play proxies just to see how it works.

Definitely play proxies just for playtesting. That will be very helpful for you to gain more card and deck insights. Should you want to play in a future tournament, you could perhaps borrow any needed card(s) to replace your proxies (if you had not already traded for/bought those card(s)).

I would consider milotic FLF in this deck, it plays to counter pyroar but more importantly it allows a much faster setup for shiftry then virizion EX which uses up an attack per turn.

But while Milotic is faster, it also costs prizes to use. I have already thought about using Milotic but it just doesn't seem worth it to me. At least no in this deck anyway.

1 prize is worth decimating an EX or clearing all your opponents energy; Milotic can save games!

I like the list, though I think it needs some... tech to deal with some of the big decks. I love Shirftry, almost thinking Leafeon would be great in here (counters Blastoise/Yveltal) as well as Abomasnow (counters Fire decks)

Which Leafeon are you refering to? The team plasma leafeon or a different one?

Team Plasma. I'm building a simular deck to this, though online even after 50 packs I only got 1 Floette... so instead, running Milotic, Leafeon, and a couple Miltanks

Okay, I admit, I seriously underestimated Milotic. I was play testing the other day with it in my deck and holy crap!! I beat a friggin Darkrai/Yveltal deck for crying out loud. Anyway so far I have a general pokemon line for this deck the trainer line is still being played around with but this is what I have for my pokemon line so far:

4-1-4 Shiftry
2-2 Abomasnow
2-2 Milotic
2 Virizion EX

What do you guys think? And what are your suggestions for a trainer line? Any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated.
