Is Registeel just for the Gardy MU? Because I don't really think it's worth it to split energies for that. Actually I think Gardy is a pretty good MU for Genesect. You're trading single prizes and as long as you can keep the energy on the board you do massive damage.

Lurantis GX and Rayquaza GRI are better than Registeel.

Lurantis with a bunch of grass energy means your elixirs will actually hit. 7 basic energy isn't great for elixir.

The problems I see with Lurantis and Rayquaza are that:
Lurantis is an evolution, you don't really want an evolution for your starting Pokemon
Rayquaza requires two energy instead of one (though I definitely did consider Ray in this list).

Going on with the next point, I may consider one Rayquaza and two Alolan Vulpix. Not sure how consistent it will be, though.

Registeel is for the Gardy matchup. You're hitting super-effective numbers with energy acceleration. I do like your point about the energy split though.

Add mewtwo gx
Mewtwo GX is not that great in this deck. You would need 2 grass energy (plus the psychic energy) with Venusaur out attached to Mewtwo GX to hit harder than Shining Genesect. It's not like Gardy GX, where it hits for both the amount of energy attached to both. It's not worth a 2-prize attacker. (I personally don't know why I'm running Drampa though)

Changes to list:
-2 Registeel
-1 Drampa GX
-1 Hoopa
-4 Rainbow Energy

+1 Rayquaza GRI
+2 Alolan Vulpix
+5 Grass Energy

Mewtwo GX is not that great in this deck. You would need 2.5 energy with Venusaur out attached to Mewtwo GX to hit harder than Shining Genesect. Even if Ray requires 2 by default, it's a cinch when you have Venusaur.

What I meant is that as a starting Pokemon, in the beginning turns when you do not have a Venusaur in play, you'd have to get two energy onto him. However, I think that Alolan Vulpix would be much better, as you could search out things like Tapu Lele, Bulbasaur, Venusaur, etc, which is why I switched Registeel for Rayquaza.
