I do more than just Sugimori style, though it is my main focus right now. :3

I used to do only traditional media work (and there was a time I didn't think I'd ever like doing digital work) but now digital art eats up all of my time. With your amount of talent I'm sure doing some digital art would be a breeze. :)

I've been meaning to comment for a while now so I'll just cover everything I've been meaning to say in this post:

The little clay figures are probably my favorite things in the thread - each is made very well and the painting is very clean. I've made a few figures myself and I've been meaning to find something new to make them out of so I think I'm going to find some polymer baking clay and give it a shot. :)

You've got some nice awards for your art, as well! Congratulations for earning them. The only notable achievement I've earned for my traditional media art is I have a paitning in the permanent collection at the Orlando Museum of Art, but I never get to see it - is that similar to what happened when you earned the silver key award?

The Asian-style watercolor painting looks very authentic - the style is perfect. And those betta fish pictures - are they colored pencil or watercolor (or both, or something else)? The colors are vibrant and really appealing.

RE: Shiningmilotic's poke'art ! ***1/5/12 Cute Kanto badge charms!

Wowow thank you! ^-^ You should try making figures yes yes yes! OMG I would looove to see them! I get my clay at walmart, lolz. I buy a fair-sized brick of white Sculpty for $6 which is great because the same brand for the same size is $10 at Hobby Lobby.

Bettas are colored pencil ;p I use Prismacolor

With the silver key award I painted a picture of an ocean shore with waves. My teacher thought it was pretty and sent it into F.A.M.E ----> http://www.famearts.org/ but this was years and years ago! I got my painting hung up in the local museum. Also that year I got a scholastic art award and honorable mentions for my ocarinas along with that ocean painting. With the Ft Wayne's district of art ranking awards go from highest to lowest:

Regional Awards:
Gold Key: The highest level of achievement on the regional level.
American Visions & Voices Nominees: Works named “Best of Show” for each region.
Silver Key: Works worthy of recognition on the regional level.
Honorable Mention: Work demonstrating artistic potential.

I have never won a golden key....lolz. Had I have known that I was entered secretly by my teacher I would have been more competative to get a golden key! LOL.

The Gera award.... woooowoowowowow I was soooo lucky to get that!!! I honestly think I was a favorite in that class... 0.o I have been googling that award online but nothing is popping up :/ It might be an exclusive indiana thing or something... idk. I won that in like 4th grade I wanna say? All i remember is I got a scholarship for art school in Indiana, a certificate, that ribbon, and my crappy portrait of my friend was displayed in Gera, Germany for a year. OMG sadly....all I have is my ribbon.... my stepdad rashed all those certificate papers away T-T Hopefully I can go to an art school here in Mckinney [and win more awards] lolz

Xous do you have an art thread or Devian art I can see??? =3

I would have never thought to check Wal Mart for the clay, but that's a lot more convenient than having to run to a crafts store. :)

Prismacolor colored pencils are the best! I've been meaning to buy a set of them since they were perfect in High School, but I haven't been able to.

Congratulations again on those awards and good luck with winning more awards and getting into art school. :D

My art thread here is here, and my deviantART page is here.

RE: Shiningmilotic's Art ***8/18/12 Rainbow Dash Gala Custom- super cute!

Ah, Rainbow Dash is so awesome looking! :D I can certainly see how people pay tonnes of money for those like you mentioned. What did you use to make the base of the dress?

RE: Shiningmilotic's Art ***8/18/12 Rainbow Dash Gala Custom- super cute!

thanks!!! ^-^ plain white hi-polymer baking clay! Its $5 for a huge chunk at walmart or $1.20 for a small chunck at Micheals craft store. It molds easily and bakes right in the oven!

RE: Shiningmilotic's Art ***8/ 31/12 Rainbow Dash necklace
