XY Shiny Locks

Does anyone hate shiny locks? It started in the 5th gen and now its on X and Y.

Feel free to use this thread to share your opinion and discuss shiny locks on Pokémon!

Xerneas and Yveltal have been shiny locked, and therefore they cannot be found as shiny pokemon and any pictures, videos, or stories of shiny versions of these Pokemon are false/faked. No further discussion of "evidence" of these Pokemon being found as shiny will be entertained in this thread or anywhere in the X/Y forums. All posts suggesting that these Pokemon have been found as shiny will be treated as spam from now on.

Edit: Mewtwo and Zygarde are shiny locked as well (as far as I know) so the above statement applies to them too.

I think they do that in a way that their events don't get underestimated, so you must be paying attention to the news, but the bad thing is that sometimes some events are only made in Japan, for example Arceus -I know it's not shiny but it's an event- and then we -the rest of the world- don't get that Pokémon or must trade it and I don't like Japanese named Pokémon.

EDIT: But well, I was saying that we could get it, but not in the same event.
 
@Eron There have been two Arceus events, outside of Japan. :p
A wifi distribution and a global link distribution.

On topic, I like shiny locks. Like Zekrom and Reshiram, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde are shiny locked because there are only one of each in the Pokémon world. Thus, a shiny Xerneas..... can't/doesn't exist. (Same should go for Mewtwo, but ohh well)
 
When BW came out, I thought the Shiny version of Reshi/Zek would be available in the opposite version, like Shiny Zek in Black.
 
So Mewtwo isn't shiny locked? I haven't even caught mine yet, but I'm going for a shiny one now. :3

Kyurem and Zygarde are not shiny locked.
 
I don't think Kyurem was Shiny locked either.
Shiny Yveltal and Xerneas do exist, but the game makes sure you never encounter one, as they have cutscenes and in the cutscenes, they appear normal.

Considering that no one in the world has caught a shiny Zygarde yet.... you can't state that its not shiny locked.

But you're right about Kyurem, it has never been shiny locked.
Although it should have been... (I don't think there has been any evidence of multiple Kyurems in the Pokémon world)

Nope as multiple of ny friends have got one after 2-3 months of soft resets. One in 8,192 man...

And I never thought about shiny locks like that... I always thought it was cause of they didn't feel like adding the extra colors for cutscenes. But the only one in the world reasoning makes sense.

On a side note why would you want a shiny Mewtwo? It's like pukish green. Or key lime pie... but it's closely uglier than a shiny Scizor.

Yeah, Shiny Locks annoy me too. I wonder why the implemented the first place?
 
I really hate the shiny locks. While they might make more sense canonically, it takes away from the game a bit for me. Sometimes it's fun to try and get yourself a shiny legendary. Or, even, it just makes resetting for IVs more fun because there's always that chance you could stumble upon a shiny. Plus, if shiny locks on all legendaries is the new forever thing, it makes me worry that countries outside Japan may not really have access to them should future shiny legendaries be distributed as events.

Plus, for the "only one" argument, I mean, you can also trade for multiple Zygardes/Mewtwos/etc. For there being only one to really have any meaning you'd have to lock those Pokemon from being traded at all otherwise how can somebody have more than one of them at any given time?
 
Why?
Just saying, they are one time Pokémon, so why not to have them shiny?

It's fake, the picture has been around for so long now, there was also a yellow yveltal but the person who photoshopped it didn't make it say shiny under the name.

I have saw some pics of a Shiny Zygarde (It`s Pink) Can this? I`m not sure..And there are Pokemons who were Shiny Locked and I have 3 of them (Zekrom,Arcues,Reshiram) (not on X/Y)

I'm pretty sure ALL legendaries in XY are shiny locked. You could easily get any shiny prior to XY because the DS games could easily be hacked by anyone. Even I have a shiny Zekrom, Reshiram, Meloetta, Keldeo, and others and I'm not a tech junkie :p
