TCG Fakes Shiny Shinx's Text-Based Fakes - Gatr and Family!

My intentions here are for everything I draft up in this thread to eventually become a fully-fledged fake card in my other thread, however, it's a lot easier to put together a simple text spoiler than it is to assemble a fake card in Gimp, so I'll probably never get everything carried over.

ex Temples of the Past

Venture into the deepest corners of the Hoenn region with ex Temples of the Past! Brave the hottest deserts, the coldest frozen wastes, and the deepest caverns, and your reward shall be the legendary Pokemon Regice, Regirock, and Registeel, all appearing as powerful holographic cards! Channel the powers of the wild with new Pokemon-ex, including Gligar ex, Masquerain ex, and Hitmontop ex!

This set is meant to fit in immediately after ex Dragon, and would use the ex-e card layout. I'm going to leave the remainder of the ultra rares (those not revealed in the set blurb) unknown until I actually finish their spoilers. (If anyone wants to guess the lineup, go ahead! Every Pokemon-ex in TP has a non-ex counterpart in the set.) The designated prerelease card for this set is Noctowl (45/94, UC).

Any thoughts? Revolver Kick seems a bit strong, but so far, I think that's the only glaringly unbalanced aspect of these cards.

Some great ideas here, and it's refreshing to see some more DP style cards. I agree Hitmontop is a bit unbalanced at present, however there is a couple of easy fixes. Revolver Kick should be a [F][C] or a [F][F] and Drill Kick probably should be dropped to 50 + 30. Nevertheless, I really like the ideas. ^.^

Fixed Hitmontop ex, made Revolver Kick [F][F] and Drill Kick 50 (+30).

Bump for today's addition, Gligar! I really like the potential of this card for some kind of control deck, although it really needs a proper partner...

Any thoughts? IMO this is the most interesting idea I've had so far.

Gligar - Basic - 60HP - [C]

Power: Flying Sting
Once during your turn (before your attack), if Gligar is on your Bench, you may switch Gligar with your Active Pokemon. If you do, choose 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon and switch it with their Active Pokemon.

[C] Anchor Tail
Shuffle Gligar and all cards attached to it into your deck. During your opponent’s next turn, the Retreat Cost for the Defending Pokemon is [C][C] more.

That's a really neat idea there! Shuffling the Pokemon into the deck is great for support Basics, as it means it won't be KO'd by your opponent during the next turn. My concern would be the Retreat Cost of 0 on Gligar, as it is free pivot much like Keldeo-EX. Perhaps you could make a partner in crime for it? :0

I actually intended to give Gligar a Retreat Cost of 1 when designing the Power, but it slipped my mind when I actually came around to entering the Retreat Cost. So Gligar has been balanced, but instead of revealing its perfect partner, how about Feraligatr and company instead?

Feraligatr - Stage 2 - 120HP - [W]

Poke-power: Tear Apart
Once during your turn, when you play Feraligatr to evolve 1 of your Pokemon, you may look at the top 3 cards of each players’ deck, choose as many Energy cards you find there as you like, and discard them. Shuffle the other cards into their owners’ deck.

W- [L] R- RC- 3
Croconaw - Stage 1 - 80HP - [W]

[W][C] Whirlpool - 20
Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon.

[W][W][W] Waterfall - 60

W- [L] R- RC- 2
Totodile - Basic - 50HP - [W]

[W] Bubble - 10

[W][C] Frighten - 10
Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent can’t attach any Energy cards from their hand to the Defending Pokémon during their next turn.

W- [L] R- RC- 1
Any thoughts? Riptide is an obvious homage to one of two Feraligatrs to ever see serious competitive use (anyone remember the other?), and Croconaw and Totodile are intended to help set it up and otherwise assist.

Back after a while out, with the next Johto starter line.

Typhlosion - Stage 2 - 120HP - [R]

Poke-power: Blaze Up
Once during your turn, when you play Typhlosion from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokemon, you may look at the top 6 cards of your deck, choose as many basic [R] Energy that you find there as you like, and attach them to your Pokemon in any way you like. Shuffle the other cards into your deck.

[R][R][C] Flame Wheel - 60
Flip a coin. If heads, choose an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon and discard it.

W- [W] R- RC- 3
Quilava - Stage 1 - 70HP - [R]

[R] Burst Blaze 20x
Flip a coin for each Energy card in your opponent’s discard pile. This attack does 20 damage times the amount of heads. If you flip at least 1 heads, shuffle all Energy cards in your opponent’s discard pile into their deck.

[R][R] Fire Spin 20+
Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 damage plus 10 more damage.

W- [W] R- RC- 1
Cyndaquil - Basic - 50HP - [R]

[C] Ignition
Attach 1 basic [R] Energy from your hand to 1 of your Pokemon.

[R][C] Minor Eruption - 10+
Discard the top card of your opponent’s deck. If it is an Energy, this attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage.

W- [W] R- RC- 1

Thoughts? I went for more of a support line role, allowing it to be used both as Energy acceleration for other attackers, as well as a recursive attacker, similar to Entei-EX DEX.
