Shop Reputation System?

Oh, really? I never saw that. I'm going to check that out right now. Does anyone have any ideas to make that area of the forums any better than it is? I can't say it needs anymore improvement currently, but I'm just wondering to see if anyone has any more ideas. :)

Read my posts Brett.

We're talking about a diffrent sort of guide. Which I'll not call a guide.

Yeah, or maybe C88 could add it to the guide he currently has. Some tips would be useful maybe for certain art programs or such, and some useful additional tips for running a shop. Hmmm... :)

Mine and Phoenix's goal at this point is to finish the C&C. Then I think we could possibly focus more upon the FC, and CM.

Yeah, and you guys are doing a great job. It must be such a privledge to moderate that subforum. But yeah, when you finish up with that subforum, move on to FC and CM. Take your time. I'm sure there's always some improvement to be done with every forum but there's always pros and cons with each. :)

A few things, and If I sound harsh please I'm just trying to prove a point and have no intention of being rude or mean.

Phoenix: If you had zip experience then why did you open a shop? I understand that you grew from it and learned, but wouldn't it have been better for both you and your customers if you have learned another way? Now there are a ton of ways to learn and gain experience with art, such as the Elite clan, (which I understand wasn't when you started but now is available) regular posting in the fan creations forums - I believe, as being part of, the art community is always helpful, or if you want to do the shop thing then join an already successful shop as a worker, then when time comes and you want to open your on shop you will have the dedication and experience you need. People will come to you and it will clear up dead shops with 5 posts because the owner abandoned or was irresponsible.

C88: I understand that right now the Clans and Clubs are being worked on but I don't think the Celadon Mart needs constant moderation, just organization. Like LuckyLuigi7 said just have someone who is very experienced in the working of a shop (Many candidates, G2F, Light Manaphy, Bonsly1994, whoever) to right a "Good Shop Guide" and someone to run a shop approval system who doesn't necessarily have to be in the Clans and Club reformer team (Once again many candidates)

I don't see the big flaw in this whole plan? I think it will really help.

I like art.

I opened the shop because someone had PMed me a request. Looking back, the reason for me saying my work was bad because I did it the nub way. (You know, stretching card art and adding text.) Fairly popular shop. I closed it because I started getting busy. I also opened the shop because of inspiration and I just wanted to make it. That's why alot of people (beginners) with nub art make shops, Matt. They like art and they have a desire to help the community.

I'm not offended at all, Matt. ^_^'

Also, NO APPROVAL SYSTEM. I've already explained why. Right now: I plan on sending Brett some stuff to update the guide with.

Good I didn't offend :)

Well first to respond to what you said Phoenix, I see your point but members could easily help the community by joining a shop and giving it a shot, if they like what they do they can make their own shop. I have owned a shop and worked in one on multiple forums and I know how demanding it can be and how the first impression of what it's going to be like is not always the right impression.

Well I looked at the Celadon mart a bit closer this time, going back a few pages, and although I still agree with my original choice I think we can redefine the term approval system for everyone's benefit. What if there was some sort of system in play, labeled as approval system, that allows anyone able to create a shop but have a first page approval, as I have seen quite a few shops that just post saying what they make with out any forms, examples, proper shop anything, which is the sign from what I've seen of creating the shop irresponsibly or carelessly. This sort of approval system would allow anyone to make a shop just make it a bit more formal and still accomplish, cleaning it up! This would allow everything that has been debated here and still accomplish most of the task.

Phoenix is right, before you should make a shop, you should join a successful shop to know the things needed to be known to make a shop.

Apparently, people wouldn't request on a dirty shop, who will? It just means the artist was not responsible enough to clean it up, leading to the visitor to think that the artist might forget his/her request. So, we just simply need an approval system, not to approve the art of the person, but the SHOP itself. It is fine if a person is bad at art and is still making a shop. Why should they not? They have the freedom to make it. Because in due time, they will improve, but when they improve and the shop is still dirty, then it's useless.

Yeah, we should have a system that inspects a shop after it is made, and makes sure that the shop is doing it's job or not. Something that could not be abused, and there could be a team of members given the job to do so. How does that sound? :)

Firstly, we can't have two rep systems at the same time.

That's the end of this discussion. WPM has been very clear he wants to keep the S/P system, and if that takes the one spot, it's obvious there's no room for yours.
