The best thing to run with shuppet is- shuppet!

Used to be a pretty good deck. Runs shuppets, uxie, and dunsparce from HS (has the same attack for 10 less). Basically, it used Exp belt, and 4 plus power. You attach it all, and hit for 30 + 20 + 40 = 90 total. then back to the hand with it all, to rinse and repeat for next turn. Dunsparce is the same thing, but for 10 less damage. He's just a tech for garchomp, flygon, or anything resistant to psychic. Uxie is good to set yourself up, and can attack with a similar attack. It can also be level X'd for more draw power, and for another backup attacker if needed.

It used to be ran with Mr. Mime from MT, because he would be a good wall to stall with for a turn. But since he's rotated, it might be hard to find another good wall staller- you know, something that prevents them from attacking you. Also, spiritomb/vileplume decks will shut this down, since you cant play your tools down.

A good wall, next set, might be Cubone/marrowak. You can use the banette from PL to discard marrowaks from your hand, or you could use Blissey from PL to do the same, but heal cubone. Cubone reduces all damage done to him by 20 for each discarded marrowak. so get 4 in there, reduce by 80, plus 20 more for each defender on him, if you decided to run those. Its complicated, and a lot of stuff, but it could be funny. Just a thought.

I think all and all, this is still a viable deck, if you can get it set up right. But for it to be good in the current meta, you need to do 2 things:
-Find a REALLY good wall/staller to send up after fade-out
-Find a way to counter, or at least work around, trainer lock, which is BIG now with vileplume.

Find an answer for those two things, and you've got yourself a hilariously fun deck. Good luck. :)

I think crobat G is pretty important to run in a shuppet deck.
The Wall doesn't matter that much because you should be able to win by your first turn usually, but if not you can just put up a crobat. It has pretty decent HP.
You could also use a card like shedinja SV, but i am afraid that it will ruin your consistency too much,

Run Mewtwo Lv.X, Shedinja SV, and Spiritomb PA.
Use Shuppet's Fade Out, and return it to your hand. Then, switch out to Mewtwo Lv.X, Shedinja SV, or Spiritomb PA depending on your opponents deck. Basic, Mewtwo Lv.X. Poke Power, Poke Body, use Shedinja. Use Spiritomb early game to try to screw up your opponent. Make sure to use Dodrio UD to keep everything's retreat at zero.

I ran a deck like this, and it was loads of fun. I might want to build it again...

How do you think gengar would work with shuppet? i might try dunsparce mewtwo and dodrio.

Question about shuppet and dunsparce:

when you use fade out and you have pluspowers attached do they go to your hand to or do you discard them?

When you use fade out, EVERYTHING attached to shuppet/dunsparce comes back. which means continual 90 damage once you have it all in your hand.

At first, I thought running gengar with shuppet would be a bad idea, just because its a stage 2, and seems big and unnecessary. but thinking on it, it has 2 REALLY great functions:
-can wall with it, and DARE your opponent to knock it out and risk fainting spell
-can be a GREAT back-up attacker if you go against trainer lock. "Oh, you locked our trainers? That's cool. Poltergeist."

I think the stage 2 aspect of it means the deck will be a little slower. But having a good wall and a great backup attacker, especially against trainer lock, may make this a viable idea. I'd suggest trying it with a line of 4 gengars, for consistency and promise of always having walls to stall with. Ideally, this is a turn 1-2 donk deck, but realistically speaking, thats not going to happen every match. So make the deck prepared for a long haul.

Gengar might be fast with bts/rare candy then power up for 1 or 2 energy if needed. and fainting spell would be the best wall possible to run with shuppet. then gengar also has free retreet.

Should i put in skuntank g, crobat g, or dunsparce?

Yeah, shuppet was a great deck. Some odd n00b won regionals with it, too. (Oh, wait, that'd be me... :p)

Don't run Gengar with it. It slows it down too much. To me, those are two seperate decks, and should never be one together. Although, that is a nice idea on paper.

And, I would run both Crobat G, and Dunsparce. Also, run Cyclone energy with Dunsparce. Trust me: The option to force switch your opponent every turn is VERY disruptive. You'll want to run 1 or 2 Dunsparce, and 4 Crobat Gs. You'll also want to put 4 Poke Turn for the Crobat G, so you can reuse them.

Hope I helped.

Just so everyone knows. He ( bpalmer357 ) has made the deck and the deck list is up here. If you have something to say do it there. that way this thread won't be brought back up.
