Well i want to know why don't we have a sideboard rule in pokemon.
For those who doesn't know what sideboard is i will try to explain.
Sideboard consist in a group of card(15 in magic/10 in yugioh) that can be used to help you against the metagame and thus reducing the randomness of the game.
A match would be consisted of 3 games, and you can use your sideboard(always trading one card for another, never having more card in the deck then you had before) after the first game, to help you win against your opponents deck.

that's because we only have one game matches during normal rounds on tournaments...we don't normall get to best of 3 games until you get to top cuts

And this raises the luck factor on the game, witch i hate.

Plus, this was a game (originally) targeted at a younger audience, some of the rules associated with side boards (Like 4 copies across both decks and swapping back after games) are a little confusing for the Junior division, so it doesn't make sense to include it in this game.

It still could be included in the master's division.

yea, but that would be more trouble than what it is worth...especially being that having a best of 3 match format for premiere events would cause the time for those events to go way too long

you should probably not over tech your decks then. thus maximizing your consistency. then luck becomes less of a factor. also, no matter what it is a card game so there will always be some luck involved. sideboard with pokemon is just not that kewl.

So you really think people would go to a tournament if they know that the tourney would last 14 hours? That's clearly unreasonable.

Anyways, I'm not for this idea. Luck is a factor in every game. Magic and Yugioh alike. There is no stopping it. If Pokemon has more luck than other games, then let it. There is nothing wrong with that. And as stated before, the game is based towards the younger players. Adding things like this would cause too much confusion. Same goes with adding it to the Masters, causing confusion to them. I don't know, I think what is left in Magic/Yugioh stays there.

I agree but not for the same reasons everyone else does-
I agree because of SPs, think about a 15 card sideboard in SPs, you could COMPLETELY change your deck(easy to go from LuxChomp-Blazeray, etc.) I think SPs would run the format even more and while they will eventually rotated out ID think I'd want a sideboard for this game, all of a sudden a 40 minute match becomes 2 hours....
Lastly I think a sideboard wouldn't be a bad idea in a HGSS on format where it seems they are downgrading the cards but we'll see, as of right now a bad idea.

Yes i would, if it decreased the luck factor.

yea, but then you wouldn't have nearly as many premiere events because of the increased time factor of the overall tournament...because that would mean that professors and tournament organizers will have to work longer, meaning they will need to be paid more product

so because you have a problem with the luck factor of the game, which exists in any game, you want to make it so that there are less premiere events, even less prize support, and some super long tournament...in no way shape or form does the luck factor in this game constitute making such economically poor changes

I believe its already been stated that you could just make you deck more consistant, is it really luck based if you can get you main attacker (nonSP) active and ready to attack T2 every match, that isn't luck thats a good build
