I saw this over on Nintendo's pokemon site and thought it might make a good tech/rouge card since so many decks revolve around EXs nowadays:

90HP Psychic (Basic)

Ability: Safeguard- Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon by Pokémon-EX.

{C}{C}{P} Psychic 50+
Does 10 more damage for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon.

Weakness {P}X2

Retreat cost {C}

It won't stop those non-ex dragons(so it's probably KO bait for those) but Psychic is a card move I'm very familiar with and the thing is against powered up pokemon it'll do 60-90 damage depending on the number of energy cards your opponent has on his pokemon. Unless someone catches on to your little scheme early in the game you might be able to count on at least 70 witch could potentially two hit KO alot of the EX cards. I don't plan on making it a centerpiece but despite the 90 HP it seems like it'd be worth tossing in next to some of the other high-end hitters.

What do you guys think?

It's used to counter mewtwo mostly. You don't play it down in a garchomp matchup because it does not help at all. You only play it down at the right time. The card is used for certain circumstances.

It also gives you a near autowin to Quad Entei. This card is really good. A lot of the meta uses EXs as attacker (D/H, Terra/Mewtwo. Zekeels, RayEels, Quad Entei, Other Darkrai variants. etc etc.) and this card can wall your opponent while doing decent damage.

Just open with it and you win the quad entei matchup

Quad-Entei's really not that great of a deck, and they could still attack with Blissey/Chansey.

I don't think that is going to work very well.

Yes, because those 4 words really let us know why Sigilyph is bad or Thundu[/u]rus is bad. Seriously, give us some more information. And for the record, Thundurus is not good. Sure, maybe last format it wasn't bad in Zeels, where it could score cheap ko's early on against Smeargle and Shaymin, but in blw on, it just can't compete. Look at Darkrai. Awesome ability, more damage, snipes for 30, and doesn't discard an energy. How can you compare Thundurus against something like that and expect for Thundurus to come out as better?

thunderus isn't an ex?

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I still find Thunderus can be useful in my Eels deck, has been very helpful if get out right away against that nasty new Garchomp deck. Being able to kill Emolga / Swablu / Altaria / Gibble or Gabite right away is a must and this can do the trick. Plus of course feeding energy to the discard pile early for Eels to use.

???
Raikou does the same thing better.

Raikou>Thundurus
End of story.
This has gotten completely off topic....

If you really want to counter it, play Bouff (Either) or Terrakion. They both OHKO it, but Terrakion is harder to tech. Bouff DRX doesn't ohko, but it can have a "double eviolite", preventing much damage done to it. Bouff BW is the easiest to tech, but it is easier to KO and only has 1 good use really (Unless your opponent ignores it)

And? If you use an EX, you can catcher around Sigilyph. I'm not trying to say Darkrai is a counter to Sigilyph, I'm trying to show you Thundurus isn't the god you make it out to be.
Mora: I don't quite understand. Are you trying to say that it seems like I'm saying discarding energy is good? If so, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Darkrai would not be as good as it is now if it discarded an energy. It makes it more versatile and doesn't force a lot of pressure on your energy supplements. I know its off topic but I just wanted to put it out there.
