Meanwhile, in the Western World, SLV just started. I wasn't sure what to expect from the opening titles, but I have to say I adored it. My only regret is that it was too short. Still, that drumbeat at the beginning was absolutely fantastic. I didn't expect it at all, but it worked. A fine way to end the D/P saga, in my opinion.

So we got all the best bits of "Greatest Everyday", the best Legendary Pokemon, like the original birds, Mew and Mewtwo (last we saw them was Advanced Battle, IIRC) and that awesome profile headshot of Ash's team that I loved. (Probably because it's the only time I've ever seen Staraptor look so smug. Same with Buizel. And I love Infernape's little smirk.)

But anyway, that's just me. I'm sure there are those out there that think the original opening was the best and will forever remain, but by all means feel free to discuss that.
 
The opening was short. :\
I was hoping for a longer one. Though I did like how all the legendaries were shown and Ash's old Pokemon. I hope that this season is the best one surpassing the previous Diamond & Pearl seasons.
 
Well, I sort of missed the episode but just looked at the opening. It was pretty good and a bit short still good.
 
The episode was pretty good. For some reason it seemed short to me. Ah well I can't wait to see the final episodes of the season. Theres probably going to be a huge battle most likely between Ash and Paul.
 
Ugh. The opening ruined it for me. High Touch! 2009 was better than it, which is REALLY bad. Yes, the episode was actually somewhat of a good filler, but ugh the opening.

Yeah, as I said in the chat, I hated the Legendaries, and the intro was pretty terrible IMO.

I also have to say that the intro wasn't the best. I still miss the first intros of when the series had first began. The intro is short and the theme of the song doesn't tend to fit in.

^Thats an epic fail. Thats a nice way to start off a new season of Pokemon with two Pikachus instead of one.
 
On the contrary, I liked the song better. More about being the best and reaching your dreams, instead of the earlier DP era stuff about changing the world and doing the right thing.

And that drum opening. zOMG.

This Saturday's episode should be interesting, IIRC it focuses on Buizel. Bui-bui!
 
The intro wasn't too bad, but it definitely wasn't the best. Was pretty short too.
 
I am not very fond of the intro either. I just like the shot of Arceus with the Dragon Trio, however, that is all I like.
 
The Japanese Opening gives away too many spoilers on the new season which I have no idea why Nintendo or whoever is in charge of the Anime thought it was okay, the English version does cut some of the spoilers but not by much with some mediocre music.

The Japanese version of the new opening is SOOO much better, heck you pratically get to see almost every single Legend in the series minus Phione, Celebi, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune despite that you see Ash's Sinnoh League team, along with Dawn's Togekiss (how on Earth did she get a Togepi?), and the final confrontation between Paul and Ash.

Ash's Sinnoh League team is a bit of a disappointment, no Oaked Pokemon in the team like I dunno Snorlax or Charizard? Instead we get Infernape, Torterra, Buizel, Pikachu, Staraptor, and Gible. Why Gible? Ash should've Oaked a Pokemon for Gible cause unless it evolves into Garchomp I probably don't seeing it doing too well in the Sinnoh Conference other than winning by power hax.

Yeah like Gible uses Draco Meteor on Paul's Ursaring or Magmortar and wins. That'd just be unbelievable...

Buizel should've already evolved into Floatzel but they've never let Ash's Water Pokemon evolve with the exception of Kingler back in the Indigo Conference in Kanto.
 
Maybe they are waiting for the Sinnoh League to evolve Buizel, then?

Dawn receives a Togekiss as a gift.
 
Yeah, I'd love to see Buizel evolve, so I'll be following the Japanese synopsis on bulbapedia to see if anything interesting happens. I'd also like to see Gible evolved after mastering Draco Meteor, that'd be interesting.

Also, as much as I love Charizard, i don't think he's coming back for the league, but I hope I'm wrong. As much as I enjoy Charizsrd swooping down and siesmic tossing hapless enemies here there and everywhere, I think Infernape will see the same degree of use, given that he's probably Ash's strongest party member.
 
Jasmine returns in the series later plus I'm looking forward to how Ash and his friends meet up with her again since Johto, of course Dawn wouldn't remember since Misty was with Ash and Brock back then. I always used to think that Ampharos was her main Pokemon but I've been wrong about that only to realize that it was Steelix instead.
 
Yeah in Pokemon D/P/PL. You can find Jasmine in Sunyshore City. She actually does make a return in the upcoming episode.
 
Aww, I was really starting to like having a woman do the vocals for the openings, it was a nice change of pace. They do a much better job too, in PUSA's case. Well, I have to say this is my least favorite Pokemon opening song. I hope the next one will be better, and hopefully it'll be performed by a woman again.

Also, the music on this one just wasn't good. Galactic Battles was totally rocking. This one was boring.
