Ruling Slowking and Golurk

I noticed this question on reddit and would like to hear the official ruling for this.

Let's assume some pokemon is on the active and there is golurk with it's stop ancient trait on the bench. You use slowkings ability to move the energy and choose the golurk, does the energy get discarded or does royal flash just do nothing?

I assume you can't move it to golurk and if golurk is your only benched pokemon, the ability does nothing.

Golurk is a valid target for Royal Flush if it is on your Bench. How're, Theta Stop prevents it from being affected by Royal Flush's effect, so the Energy would be discsrded. This is just like P Kyogre-EX using Todal Storm to move Energy to a Pokémon with safeguard. However if Golurk is your Active Pokémon Royal Flush could still be used, but its effect will be blocked entirely because the Energy can't be removed.
