Since Garchomp/Lucario is relatively accessible and possibly could be somewhat successful in the slower format, I may reconsider playing the game physically (rather than just on PTCGO). I'm hoping you all can help me perfect this list. I've chosen Looker over other draw supporters since Sightseer isn't out yet, and I wanted a non-shuffle supporter (Lillie nets three or less with Oranguru in play). I'm running entirely fighting type Gible so I can grab them with Brooklet Hill. 3-3 Lucario for consistency--I might test a single Lucario GX in here since it can attack for a single energy. I currently run Exp. Share over Choice Band to try to keep energy in play, but I might change it depending on whether or not high HP GX's become common. I've chosen 3 Guzma over Counter Catcher, but I may change that since it interferes with Cynthia, though it does work for KOing Zoroark GX.

Hey dude,

Glad to see that i am not the only one playing garchomp lucario.

Your pokemon list is almost identical to mine but i play a little more aggressive. I dont have my list in front of me but i do know i run 4riolu, 2 lucario & 2 lucario gx. How i have been successful at using the GX lucario normally by either starting with him or using him at the end. Just having in the game throughout the game has not been very useful because he then becomes a target.
I also use one of the basic buzzwoles to make some major damage with only one energy. I use one Alolan vulpix for beacon as a beginning set up pokemon. Very easy to grab because of brooklet hill. The pokemon i am also considering is the new deoxys ( similar to mewtwo with psychic).

As for the trainers and supporters i mostly use 4-cynthia, 3-guzma, 2-judge, 2 kukui & one lilli. I use to play exp share too but i saw myself needing the additional HP so i chose to go with a heavy choice band over the exp share. I do like using the counter catcher and escape board very much though, specially now that float stone is out!

Dope list!

Do you think it would be worth adding an Alolan Vulpix or two? Since you're running Brooklet Hill, maybe it would help speed the deck up?

I’ve been playing this deck in some form since ULP prerelease! Cynthia is my favorite human character, and finally getting to play a deck featuring her since my DPP days was exciting! I use a copy of Buzzwole-GX for the early aggro above Lucario-GX for exactly that reason. I’m also trying out Tate & Liza.

Have you considered to play a line of Zoroark GX in this archetype ?
It could give the extra boost of consistency and 1 energy attachment attack this deck needs.

As weird as this sounds, I've actually played that variant before.

From what I've seen while play testing, it's no where near as consistent as the non-Zoroark variant. With this deck, you need to preserve your DCE. Zoroark has a decent attack at 120 damage. However; compared to Garchomp’s 200 damage attack, I just can’t justify wasting a DCE on Zoroark when it could be put to better use.

Even if Zoroark is only being used as a draw supporter, you may as well just run something like Oranguru (Instruct) as it fits Garchomp’s playste a whole lot better.

It's still a pretty cool idea! I just think it falls a little flat.
