SoCal Regionals date+location confirmed

So, it looks like it'll be in Long Beach, with the cities format. It'll be on the Queen Mary, which is traditionally also where states are held. Pretty cool! This is pretty useful, as my cities testing will carry over to regionals as well. Hope to see you all there!

Awesome, see you there. Hopefully we can arrange a pokebeach meeting spot or something.
 
I don't know yet but hopefully. It's still three months so not exactly anything to freak out about.

If I'm not in top cut the next day, I might try the VGC. It'll be my first video game tournament, so it might be interesting.
 
I'm actually planning on making it too. I have the following Monday off and it's the closest Regionals to me (it would be the second time I've gone on the boat for Pokemon haha).

I do not know if I'll be playing or judging (if I'm judging, I'll have something special planned in store, hopefully), but I will definitely be there.

DNA: How do you Ref at events like these. I have passed the Professor exam but am yet to get to use my powers!! lol
 
You need to contact your area's PTO. Chrisbo would be a good one to talk to.

Generally, Regionals and States around here are only allowed to be judged by people who are experienced and have done it for a while, i.e. the 'inner circle'. Battle Roads and Cities are generally used as 'testing grounds' for people who want to get into judging.

I was invited to judge Regionals and States last year (Regs I accepted, States I declined), so it's a fair bet I'll be invited to do so again this year.
