Sonic Lost World

Why is no one talking about this game? Oh well, guess I'll have to change that.

A new Sonic game was recently announced for Wii U and 3DS as part of a temporary partnership between Nintendo and SEGA named Sonic Lost World. It takes place in a new planet called Lost Hex, in which Sonic teams up with Eggman to defeat a group of rogue aliens known as the Deadly Six.

Here is what we know so far about the game:

-Features a tiered speed system. Pressing the analog stick will make Sonic walk, you need to hold down one of the triggers to run, and then you can press the other trigger to Spin Dash. This allows for a better balance between speed and platforming in the game, lower speed allow you better control to tackle more precise platforming, while higher speeds are better for speedier sections.
-In addition, the game features a parkour system in which Sonic can automatically climb and run up walls while running.
-The Wisps return, and you now control them with the Gamepad. Confirmed wisps are Laser for Wii U and Drill for the 3DS. The 3DS version also features a new Wisp that destroys obstacles and enemies turning them into blocks that orbit around Sonic.
-The level design incorporates a Super Mario Galaxy style gravity system.
-Two levels have been confirmed, Windy Hill and Desert Ruins. Windy Hill is a typical hilly level (like Green Hill). Desert Ruins actually features several different environments, including a sweets themed level, and a Tall Trunk Galaxy esque auto run level.
-Bonus content is unlocked through saving animals (by defeating badniks and breaking capsules) and collecting Red Star Rings.
-The game also features several multiplayer features, including a Support mode in which the second player can use the Wii Remote to assist the first player, and a local competitive mode split between the TV and the Gamepad. The 3DS version also features an online Versus Mode, and both versions can share items between the two.
-Sonic is the only playable character, but Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will appear within the storyline.

Can't wait to play Super Sonic Galaxy! <3

Yeah, the game does seem to be heavily inspired by Mario Galaxy, but despite that, I really like the direction they're going in, it makes the platforming more manageable. Anyone who's played Generations can tell you how annoying it is to platform at boost speed.

I took a guess of how many posts it would take after the OP for somebody to mention Super Mario Galaxy.
1.
This is not astonishing at all.

I'm looking forward to getting this game on 3DS and on Wii U when I get one. Looks great so far.

For me this still doesn't make up for Sonic 4 not being one whole game like Sonic Colors or Sonic Generations. This does kind of make me wonder about Sega's E3 rumors about the Spectrum though...

lololo

I do the same thing on every other forum (guessing, that is) the game is brought up on.

Guessing one still hasn't failed me. It's hilarious.

But seriously. Game is totally Galaxy... 2. But with more speed. Which is awesomeeee.

Hmm, offering a parkour system to Sonic game physics sounds quite rich. I can see they wanted to achieve an aspect of realism, except, y'know with less disgusting filthy shameful *hint hint hint* essence of that game.

The game looks okay. I may get it for the 3DS to add another game to my very small collection of 3DS games.

Release date for Lost World is October 13th, also, the Deadly Six's names have been revealed

From left to right, their names are:

Zomom, Zazz, Zavok, Zor, Zik, and Zeena

Uhh... Those names are horrible. Goodness sake, Zazz? ZOMOM? What is that, DA MOM or something?

Pretty cool release date... I say that because October is so jam-packed already it would have been neat for it to arrive at a different time. Like poor 'ol September.

Let us tell you about homestuck.

But seriously, this game looks good but I am saving money, Sega picked a really bad date to release this game.

Seriously, if I had just stumbled upon that picture of the 6 Deadly whatevers, not knowing what was going on, I would have NEVER guessed that was from Sonic. They remind me of Sesame Street or something...

New gameplay trailers shows off some of the Wisp power ups present in the game.

Man, I am so down with those villians. I can't even recall a final boss figure in Sonic that wasn't a) Eggman or b) Some bland big monster thing that nobody cares about. Sega have thrown new "good guy" characters at us time and time again, but villian characters are sorely lacking in numbers. I am excite.

I got a very very big feeling that Eggman will end up being the final boss again, (he'll prolly end up backstabbing Sonic and the Deadly 6 will likely reform themselves at the end of the story.)

Wow! I usually don't like Sonic games but this one is amazing. I am totally getting this.
