Why is no one talking about this game? Oh well, guess I'll have to change that.
A new Sonic game was recently announced for Wii U and 3DS as part of a temporary partnership between Nintendo and SEGA named Sonic Lost World. It takes place in a new planet called Lost Hex, in which Sonic teams up with Eggman to defeat a group of rogue aliens known as the Deadly Six.
Here is what we know so far about the game:
-Features a tiered speed system. Pressing the analog stick will make Sonic walk, you need to hold down one of the triggers to run, and then you can press the other trigger to Spin Dash. This allows for a better balance between speed and platforming in the game, lower speed allow you better control to tackle more precise platforming, while higher speeds are better for speedier sections.
-In addition, the game features a parkour system in which Sonic can automatically climb and run up walls while running.
-The Wisps return, and you now control them with the Gamepad. Confirmed wisps are Laser for Wii U and Drill for the 3DS. The 3DS version also features a new Wisp that destroys obstacles and enemies turning them into blocks that orbit around Sonic.
-The level design incorporates a Super Mario Galaxy style gravity system.
-Two levels have been confirmed, Windy Hill and Desert Ruins. Windy Hill is a typical hilly level (like Green Hill). Desert Ruins actually features several different environments, including a sweets themed level, and a Tall Trunk Galaxy esque auto run level.
-Bonus content is unlocked through saving animals (by defeating badniks and breaking capsules) and collecting Red Star Rings.
-The game also features several multiplayer features, including a Support mode in which the second player can use the Wii Remote to assist the first player, and a local competitive mode split between the TV and the Gamepad. The 3DS version also features an online Versus Mode, and both versions can share items between the two.
-Sonic is the only playable character, but Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will appear within the storyline.
