SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

RE: The official SSBB thread. This thread is for SSB Related as well

Please don't revive threads that are over a month old.

RE: The official SSBB thread. This thread is for SSB Related as well

I'm going to go ahead and revive this thread and keep it the official Brawl thread.

Anyone want to play?

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

I really love this game. Its so fun.

Kirby spamming = winning.

I once Falcon Pawnched an Electrode. It blew up in my face. Ha. ha. pun.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

My SSBB disk got scratched, so I need to go get it smoothed out. After that I'll be up for it, especially with my speedy new internet.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

The only characters I like using anymore are Wolf, Meta Knight, and Snake. I might try a game or two sometime if I don't lag like I did in my previous games with Bippa and safari.

And someone could try to find the old SSBB clan thread and recover some FC's from there, if they'd be willing.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

Wow this thread is old.

Anyway, Fox is the only character. Even without his Final Smash, he's deadly. Shame his throw-down, shine spark combo doesn't work in Brawl, I used it all the time in melee.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

I've actually been getting back into brawl recently, because my one friend got the game a couple weeks ago. Strangely, every time I try getting back into the game, my best characters change. It used to be Ness. Then It changed to Link. Then to Toon Link and Olimar. Nowadays, I mostly play as (purple)Luigi, (blue)R.O.B. and (pink)Captian Falcon.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

This game is awesome. I'm no good at it at all, but it's a blast to play. I especially find it fun to go into training mode and play in slow motion; I can really get a sense of all the combos and things you can do. Right now my best characters (by best I mean I lose less miserably) are Pit, R.O.B., and ZS Samus.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

I murder with Zero Suit Samus and Toon Link. They're both fast and stealthy, and when the time comes have devastating smash attacks for the KO.

Plus Wolf is a beastly character, especially with his meteor strike moves.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

Do you people play with items on or off? I like to have them off as much as possible (even final smash balls) just because of how random they are / can be.

Off. I like just straight up brawling with my friends, and items ALWAYS get in the way for me. I mean it's refreshing to play an item-based game once in a while, but they wear out their welcome very quickly IMO.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

The standard for me is items off, except for Smash Balls, which are set on Low. I might turn on useless items like Bananas and maybe Poke Balls once in a while for fun, but stuff like the hammers are just annoying.

Depends. I'll play casual games with items every now and then.

But me and my friends usually only play 3 stock, 8 min, no items.
and usually only on:
FD, Battlefield, Smashville, Paper mario place, etc.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

Smash balls on low is still too much. Someone like the furries or Sonic who can take two stocks with one FS proves they are too good for standard play.

All items off and set to none, please.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

I dislike ignoring one of the coolest aspects of the game by getting rid of Smash Balls. It's not like my friends are uber-competitive anyways, haha. I just enjoy getting out the Grenade Launcher every once in a while.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

Most Final Smashes are easy to avoid as long as you're smart. Although playing fast characters makes this a much easier to say.

4 Stocks, Items if people agree to it and I am playing on GC controller, no time limit. Works well enough. Also Final Destination because it is probably the best stage.

Most are, but some that can kill you when they're used or soon after they're used make them unsuitable for serious matches.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

We're bringing this thread back? Thank the heavens. I love SSBB. My FC's in my bio I believe.

RE: SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

I love playing as Samus (either Zero Suit or Varia Suit) and my favorite stage is Pokemon Stadium 2, especially when the fans come on!

EDIT: Can't play on Wi-Fi today, but whenever someone wants to, ask me for my FC!
