Ruling stadiums

if there is a stadium in play, can you play the same stadium down?
i have been doing this since stadiums came out.
because there are cards out there that have affects based on if YOU have a stadium in play or not.
so is it legal to discard a stadium with the same stadium from play?

You can't play a Stadium if the same one is in play already.

Also, it's only legal to play 1 Stadium per turn, as per the official rulebook.
