Starmie HGSS

I think it may work, the problem is getting Feraligatr set up in time, and getting the energy back out...

I'm really hesitant on this one. The shuffling-the-energy-back-in hurts this deck a LOT. How do you get a constant stream? And of course, you don't want to topdeck energy when you need something else... I don't even know what I would play to make this work.

You need 4-4 Starmie and 2-1-2 Feraligatr (at least, maybe some Cleffa). And then how much energy? Well, you'll need to get, what, 4 or 5 energy per turn to keep up? Maybe a bit less- 3? And then how do you get set up? That takes up space... and then recovery; you'll need to get those Starmies back. FSL? How do you get energy to keep up, then? I just don't know about Starmie being able to cope with everything it needs to do to stay running. If you can get the energy to come every turn, this deck could be okay, but MagneBoar and ZPS are still autolosses. Maybe even Steelix. This deck has an alright matchup against ReshiBoar (if it works) due to Weakness, but you'll still need to get out 4 energy per turn to OHKO the Reshiram, and it'll still OHKO you back.

I'd like to see this work, but I don't think it can.

Well, I play it with a lot of PONT/Copycat/Judge, Interviewers of course, and Engineers. I use Delibird and Mantine as techs and my deck works out pretty well. It's not that hard to get the energy back out. But I do understand what you're saying, it sucks when I need an IQ or PONT and I just draw energy =P

Feraligatr is a bad card. This deck had a teeny bit of hype when HGSS was first released, and it didn't work then. It won't work now, because the format is slower and less consistent. And Feraligatr will always be a bad card.
The only way this deck will work is to get some massive, massive milling to guarantee that you always get the energy you want each turn. But it's not good enough.

haha, typo. I think in context it's pretty clear what I meant to say, but yeah I'll fix that.

No. Test it yourself and figure out that it's a bad deck.

Won't be able to keep up with the format, even it's sort of fast setup. 90hp is easy to ohko + electric weakness (Zekrom and Magnezone).

Tho i disagree with 6-Dimension's message about feraligatr being bad, it's not. it's water type emboar with uncommon type weakness (grass). tho it just loads water types. I bet Kyurem/Feraligatr will be Tier 1 or Tier 2 deck when kyurem comes (Eviolite)

Ferarigatr is good, but it is maybe possible playable with Kyurem (from next set) and Starmie can always be good tech for it even like that.

Yeh I don't like it either, Magnezone is the most played card right now, next to Yanmega, and this deck is weak to both of them. Most decks carry reversal, and will outspeed you and kill your Totodiles before you can evolve. It might be ok against a poorly built Donphan, but like 40% carry Zekrom now a days. The Metagame is definitely not right for this deck. Sorry to say.

Edit:

It's funny, because almost every deck at Nats is carrying Yanmega, and no one plays Emboar's weakness.

Indeed, Feraligatr may be slow, but well builted it can do anything special.

lol my friend posted the battle me thing. but I've played it at league, I've done good, but I havent got to play Magneboar yet =P
and it does get OHKO'd by everything!
