Hmm, I think they won't use Giratina for the Third Game 'cause he's not anywhere in the Sinnoh Dex... I minded the Lake Trio. Why?

* They are Legendaries;
* They are in the Sinnoh Dex;
* They DO play a major part in the game;
* This will be very like Emerald, since Rayquaza stops G&K as the Lake Trio stops P/D.

There's enough? If not, I have 1,000,000 more reasons to be the Lake Trio.

Why not Darkrai? He coulpd stop Dialga/Palkia in the 10th movie. And the 3 hypothetical games have the names of stones, like any other Pokemon game excluding the first ones and Fr/Lg.

@pokemonmasterpa:
it wont be an event pokemone o_o thats for sure

@mew's eidolon:
you mean the whole lake trio?
3 pokemon on a cover doesnt sound good to me...

1. they're legendaries, so is giratina and its the third counterpart to dialga and palkia
2. who said giratina has to be catchable before getting the national dex?
even if it was, GF would just put it into the sinnoh dex
3. why on earth would they put them on the cover if they already played a major part in the main games? giratina isnt involved in any way, and that tells me that it will get a big story in the third installment
4. i dont see what the fact that rayquaza stops groudon and kyogre from battling has to do with the story in DP?

i'd like to hear your other 1000000 reasons for the lake trio =q

Opal...Opal...Opie...Opal...Opie...Opie...AHA! They took their name from the Andy Griffith Show!

Bad people -_-

Lol I think it sounds kind of cool. Only time will tell if it's a real version..

Arcanine out.

Well, it won't be an event Pokemon, and can you really see 3 Pokemon on the cover? Especially the Legendary Trio who look sort of, Wimpish?Lets face it, the covers of the games have been reserved for real bad*** types of Pokemon. The Legendary Trio this time around don't really fit that discription.

Other than Giratina, it could only be Regigias, Heatran, or Cressila. None of them really seem to have that much of a story to them. Giratina, on the other hand, seems to have a hidden story to him that could play into the Sinnoh mythology. So for that reason, I see him being on the cover. And they could always make him #152 in the Sinnoh dex if necessary.

I doesn't have to be on the dex, like rayquaza, it will probably only be catchable after playing out the game.

Girasol or opal seem reasonable names for the 3th game, although I hope they follow the gen3 trend, and make a jotho remake 1st :)

Hmmmmm, Giratina has a space on its heard that they play an Opal, lol

Really, looking at Giratina, it has to be him. He is confirmed as the third counterpart to D/P and would make a perfect Game Mascot. Getting him in this game is mysterious enough as it is. The third game could further explore how Giratina fits into the D/P mystery.

> --And it's the same standard play you've seen in all the rest of the games so far. I think my biggest beef though is ineffective use of the touch screen. It would've been so much easier to reorganize your monster team by drag/dropping to switch instead of the little menu that was standard in the games. Or tapping the pokeball on the top left of the touch screen to bring up the switch screen in battle and so forth. Little intuitive things like that would've, IMO improved the game play and would've been simple to bring out. Guess we'll need to wait for *Pokemon Opal *to be a minor upgrade to Diamond/Pearl with those sorts of tweaks.--

Like a centipede, it has a long, segmented body, with six basilisk-like legs. Giratina has two black wing-like protrusions coming out of its neck. Its neck also has three yellow circles around it that match the color of its head. These look very similar to a ribcage <http://www.answers.com/topic/rib>, opening up the length of its body. Its head is similar to those of Dialga <http://www.answers.com/topic/dialga> and Palkia <http://www.answers.com/topic/palkia>. Giratina's appearance recalls that of Ultima WEAPON <http://www.answers.com/topic/weapon-final-fantasy> in Final Fantasy VII <http://www.answers.com/topic/final-fantasy-vii> and Final Fantasy VIII <http://www.answers.com/topic/final-fantasy-viii>.

> It may be named after the stone Girasol, which is also called the Fire Opal <http://www.answers.com/topic/opal>. Many have been debating on what gem will grace the title of a possible third game follow-up to Diamond and Pearl, and many believe it will center around the Ghost/Dragon Giratina.^[/citation needed/] The name of the possible third game will probably be called Pokemon Opal Version.
>
> It seems quite possible that Giratina is named after Girasol, since Dialga and Palkia are similarly named after Diamond and Pearl. It also shares the Dragon type and learns the same or similar moves as Dialga and Palkia at the same levels that they do. Its stats, too, are similar. It seems to be the dimension Pokémon to go along with time and space.--

> It seems as though this new game is very likely to be made. Though I thought that since they brought back many of the old G/S features they may make a game after the spirit Mespirit. However there is no exact jewel mentioned to be on that pokemon. For now, my bet goes on Opal.
