RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

Super Mario Sunshine is really fun. As you progress in the game, you unlock new nozzles for FLUDD, which is the device you use to squirt water. The game is so much fun, that when you die, you still want to play! I highly reccomend you get this game! (Bought it at gamestop ;) )

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

Mario Sunshine is one of the musts for the GameCube. If you can get your hands on a copy of the game you should definately do so.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

I've beat the game several times. Really good game. It's a great platforming game, easy (unless you're going for 100%), but there are a few things that you've gotta get over. The game does has lots of recycled boss fights, too many Red Coins missions (about three per world), and has quite a bit of glitches.

Overall, I wouldn't let the problems shy you away from the game.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

Oh goodness. This is one of my favorite Gamecube games for sure. I've never beaten it but I don't even own it. You could probably get it at a Gamestop and if not, online. Now that you mention it, I wanna go get a copy myself...

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

Best GameCube game ever. I almost beat it, and I was amazing at the Shadow Mario levels. I don't really play anymore, though.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

SMS is a decent game. As was mentioned before, it's really not that difficult unless you're going for 100% completion (in which case the difficulty shoots into the stratosphere). It plays just like Super Mario 64, except you're outside instead of in a castle.

To me, SMS is one of those games where you either love it or you hate it. If you have the opportunity to get this game, I would recommend doing so, to give it a try if for no other reason than that.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

Ahh one of the best games ever!

I love just running around Delfino Plaza and just letting the Yoshi eat all the fruit and change into different colors.
It's also fun exploring the different worlds 'cause there's so much to do and look at. I agree with the above, it's not entirely fun if you're so serious about finishing it. I also agree that dying won't stop you from playing again. I've failed tons of times but figuring things out is always a nice little challenge. Or you could just get to a far point with all the nozzles and fun features and start slacking on your quest like me.

While this is somewhat the 'down side' of the game, it does contain something no other Mario game has. It is the only game in which Delfino Plaza, the 'main area' (as the castle in 64 and the observatory in Galaxy), contains tons of stars, and can be seen as a level on its own. I think this was a great addition, and it's a shame it hasn't been used again.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

I love SMS. I agree with PMJ though, you either love it or hate it. I'm about 95% done with the game, but haven't completed it yet. I also agree with Pokequaza, Delfino Plaza is like a stage itself. Find it if you can get it. Definitely one of the better Mario games out there.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

The castle in 64 has fifteen stars. While not a lot, it's certainly no small amount.

Mostly I dislike Sunshine for the reasons Glsicor (sic) listed, as well as my personal dislike of the FLUDD mechanic, the blue coins (which I just find to be annoying) and terrible, terrible voice acting. It's not a bad game, but it is, in my opinion, one of the weaker games in the series.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

I really liked FLUDD alot, and he was cool. But the blue and red coins were really not cool.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

I just cannot beat a certain level in that game :( It's amazing, however. One of the best GC games I've played.

the people that hate mario sunshine have something messed up in there heads.
it would be EXTREMELY hard to hate a game like super mario sunshine.

It's very difficult to not like SMS,its just one of those games that grips you and sucks you into playing more.

In all honesty,I enjoyed SMS more than SMG and SMG2.It was vivid, addicting, and overall just fun.

Which level would that be? I can probably help you.

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

You one level I couldn't beat was the secret level with the Yoshi that was like impossible. I could never beat it. :(

RE: Super Mario Sunshine(GameCube)

I've beat every mini-level, and every level. I have to go back and finish finding all the blue coins, and I should beat the game.

A high end, or the high beginning, for the GameCube. Its perspective differs from SM64, only because it is in a town, and one of the great thing about this game is Yoshi.
