Here is a completely new idea of mine. It was eating inside of me and it had to come out. Without further ado, here it is:
Prologue: SOE
“Gather ‘round men. We have important details to discuss.” There was a round table where each man sat. There were, in total, eleven chairs around the table, but only nine were seated in. Two were absent.
Each man was wearing a hooded, heavy-looking black cloak. The cloak simply acted as upper body wear – their lower wear were long, baggy pants colored red. They wore the hood over their heads, hiding their faces in a dark shadow. Piercing the darkness were their eyes, which cast some light on their lips, allowing their mouths to be seen ever so slightly through the darkness.
“Sir, before we continue, I’d like to make an announcement about the ceremony we had last month,” said the man closest to the exit. “I, Sergio, and my friend, who is sitting right next to me, have figured out a plan to insert our troops into SOE without being captured. Our last ceremony was the execution of an SOE official. I believe our next ceremony will be the execution of the whole SOE, if the plan works” explained Sergio, with a stern look on his face. His friend, Kerijo, shared the same thoughts about the plan.
The man who had spoken at the very beginning of the meeting, and who was also the head of the cult, stood up from his seat. “Sergio, you just interrupted our very important meeting. Are you done?” he said, with an eager look on his face.
Sergio’s eyes widened in shock from his leader’s judgment, but he was not allowed to defy it, either. Sergio nodded, and waited for his leader to continue talking.
“As I was saying, we have urgent information to discuss. Our only spy in SOE has discovered news that could end our cult, but if we act quickly, we could stop it from happening,” he said, taking a breath before continuing. “Kimera, our spy, has found out that a new swordsman has been spotted. He’s young, so he should be easy for our men to take out. This boy is a threat to us and anybody who defies my judgment will not be tolerated with” he finished.
The group discussed a few other un-important matters before ending the meeting. Sergio and Kerijo left together. They were roommates. Even though they were high council, they weren’t very rich.
Sergio pulled the keys out of his pocket and inserted the smallest out of the three keys on his keychain. He swiftly turned it and the door made a click, showing it was unlocked. He firmly placed his hands on the freezing-cold door knob, twisted it, and entered through the door. He was infuriated by his leader’s judgment. Kerijo, on the other hand, was more of a “go with the flow” type of person.
The sky was lit with lights from the nearby party, which randomly fired fireworks into the sky every now and then. It made it seem like day-time, but it was actually quite late.
Kerijo noticed Sergio’s angry state and wondered if he should approach him with questions, but he decided it would be best to leave him alone for now.
It turned midnight and the two men headed off to their individual rooms. Kerijo fell asleep in an instant, but Sergio had a harder time. He was having a major headache and his green, glowing eyes were flashing brighter than ever before.
Sergio got up from bed and went down the stairs to the medicine cabinet. He took some sleeping pills and closed the medicine cabinet. On his way back to the stairs, he felt dizzy. Before he could even take the first step up the stairs he collapsed, his body almost noiselessly colliding with the ground – the sleeping Kerijo was left unaware.
His eyes opened. The green color was changing his blood, too. Instead of blood in veins covered by skin, they were now bright, green, and glowing liquids flowing through the veins, still covered by skin, but completely visible.
He got up, made a fist, and then approached the door that lead outside and smashed it with his clenched fist – instantly breaking and shattering it. He walked outside into the freezing-cold weather and, with wood splinters stuck in his knuckles, quietly said under his breath, “Now, I defy your judgment.” He closed his eyes and after a few moments, Sergio levitated into the air. He opened his eyes and found himself almost virtually flying, and then, he flew.
In a dark forest, a young man, only about seventeen, rushed recklessly through the brush. He was, no doubt, a swordsman – he wore a sword and small grenades on his belt. His clothing showed signs of rough travels – it was snagged and torn from his hectic rush through the woods and dampened from rain he’d encountered only seconds ago. His hair was black and sort of all over the place, even though he didn’t have much hair. He also wore a headband with the letters SOE written on it.
After running through the dark forest for about an hour, he stopped dead in front of a big, old tree. He drew his blade, which was covered in wet blood, and pointed it towards the tree. A mystical aura surrounded the sword, and a huge energy blast flew out of it. The tree shot up in flames. There was a small carving on the tree, too. The letters were: CE. The swordsman fled the scene and the tree burned to ashes.
