Here is a completely new idea of mine. It was eating inside of me and it had to come out. Without further ado, here it is:

Prologue: SOE

“Gather ‘round men. We have important details to discuss.” There was a round table where each man sat. There were, in total, eleven chairs around the table, but only nine were seated in. Two were absent.

Each man was wearing a hooded, heavy-looking black cloak. The cloak simply acted as upper body wear – their lower wear were long, baggy pants colored red. They wore the hood over their heads, hiding their faces in a dark shadow. Piercing the darkness were their eyes, which cast some light on their lips, allowing their mouths to be seen ever so slightly through the darkness.

“Sir, before we continue, I’d like to make an announcement about the ceremony we had last month,” said the man closest to the exit. “I, Sergio, and my friend, who is sitting right next to me, have figured out a plan to insert our troops into SOE without being captured. Our last ceremony was the execution of an SOE official. I believe our next ceremony will be the execution of the whole SOE, if the plan works” explained Sergio, with a stern look on his face. His friend, Kerijo, shared the same thoughts about the plan.

The man who had spoken at the very beginning of the meeting, and who was also the head of the cult, stood up from his seat. “Sergio, you just interrupted our very important meeting. Are you done?” he said, with an eager look on his face.

Sergio’s eyes widened in shock from his leader’s judgment, but he was not allowed to defy it, either. Sergio nodded, and waited for his leader to continue talking.

“As I was saying, we have urgent information to discuss. Our only spy in SOE has discovered news that could end our cult, but if we act quickly, we could stop it from happening,” he said, taking a breath before continuing. “Kimera, our spy, has found out that a new swordsman has been spotted. He’s young, so he should be easy for our men to take out. This boy is a threat to us and anybody who defies my judgment will not be tolerated with” he finished.

The group discussed a few other un-important matters before ending the meeting. Sergio and Kerijo left together. They were roommates. Even though they were high council, they weren’t very rich.

Sergio pulled the keys out of his pocket and inserted the smallest out of the three keys on his keychain. He swiftly turned it and the door made a click, showing it was unlocked. He firmly placed his hands on the freezing-cold door knob, twisted it, and entered through the door. He was infuriated by his leader’s judgment. Kerijo, on the other hand, was more of a “go with the flow” type of person.

The sky was lit with lights from the nearby party, which randomly fired fireworks into the sky every now and then. It made it seem like day-time, but it was actually quite late.

Kerijo noticed Sergio’s angry state and wondered if he should approach him with questions, but he decided it would be best to leave him alone for now.

It turned midnight and the two men headed off to their individual rooms. Kerijo fell asleep in an instant, but Sergio had a harder time. He was having a major headache and his green, glowing eyes were flashing brighter than ever before.

Sergio got up from bed and went down the stairs to the medicine cabinet. He took some sleeping pills and closed the medicine cabinet. On his way back to the stairs, he felt dizzy. Before he could even take the first step up the stairs he collapsed, his body almost noiselessly colliding with the ground – the sleeping Kerijo was left unaware.

His eyes opened. The green color was changing his blood, too. Instead of blood in veins covered by skin, they were now bright, green, and glowing liquids flowing through the veins, still covered by skin, but completely visible.

He got up, made a fist, and then approached the door that lead outside and smashed it with his clenched fist – instantly breaking and shattering it. He walked outside into the freezing-cold weather and, with wood splinters stuck in his knuckles, quietly said under his breath, “Now, I defy your judgment.” He closed his eyes and after a few moments, Sergio levitated into the air. He opened his eyes and found himself almost virtually flying, and then, he flew.

In a dark forest, a young man, only about seventeen, rushed recklessly through the brush. He was, no doubt, a swordsman – he wore a sword and small grenades on his belt. His clothing showed signs of rough travels – it was snagged and torn from his hectic rush through the woods and dampened from rain he’d encountered only seconds ago. His hair was black and sort of all over the place, even though he didn’t have much hair. He also wore a headband with the letters SOE written on it.

After running through the dark forest for about an hour, he stopped dead in front of a big, old tree. He drew his blade, which was covered in wet blood, and pointed it towards the tree. A mystical aura surrounded the sword, and a huge energy blast flew out of it. The tree shot up in flames. There was a small carving on the tree, too. The letters were: CE. The swordsman fled the scene and the tree burned to ashes.

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Definitely a good read, and a good break from the Pokémon stories. :)

I look forward to more from this. :3

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Very interesting. I was always secretly hoped that some kind of completely un-Pokemon related story would pop up in the Writing Corner, and now it did. Great story and hope to see more of it!

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Epic as always. I'm looking forward to reading it more.

(XD at the older Sloan.)

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Nice story !
Makes a good change to the Pokemon fan fics ^_^

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Cool, sorry about the incident with Magma King :O. You're storys are great, don't give up!

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

I have a pretty nasty cold, so I don't have much time for writing. The only time I see myself writing this week is in bed, on paper the old fashioned way. The chapter will hopefully be up in a week or so. Let's hope this cold goes away :(

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Chapter One: Becoming the Refugee

The sun arose and scared away the darkness. The world was lit up. Every human being that had a regular job had to wake up at around six to seven AM. After they would leave, their children, if any, would wake up and go to school at the appropriate time. The regular time that school starts is about eight-thirty AM. This leaves every kid enough time to get ready.

Most students are bright and eager to learn. They want to eventually leave school and to really get somewhere with their lives. Others, though, don’t take school very seriously…

The alarm clock beeped. The boy fell out of his bed from the sound. He took a look at his clock and he realized it was eight-fifteen. He had only fifteen minutes to get to school. He brushed his teeth for ten seconds, combed his hair, changed clothes, picked up his sword and schoolwork and headed to school.

He jogged all the way to school. It was about a five minute jog, at most. He got there just in time before class started. He entered with all the other students and took his seat. He waited for the teacher to enter the classroom.

Moments later, their teacher came in. His name was Mr. Frelto, but the students called him Fro, for short. “Hello students. I hope you all enjoyed winter vacation, but its time we start learning again. Let me start by taking attendance…” he said. “Jessie?”

“Here!”

“Hakuro?”

“Here!”

“Tina?”

“Here!”

And so the teacher got to the bottom of the list where there was only one name left. “Kaito?”

Kaito, the boy who had gotten to school seconds before the bell raised his hand. His hair was still somewhat messy. His breath stunk and his clothes seemed to be dirty. “Here” he said, partly groaning while saying it.

Mr. Frelto put the attendance paper down and noticed that it took longer than expected. “Ok, boys, head to the training room. You’ll be assigned a teacher. Girls, go to the harbor where your healing teachers will you give you your assignment for the day. Have fun!” he said, opening the exit. The children rushed out the door. Kaito took his time and slowly walked to the training room.

Kaito walked through the double doors. He glanced around, noticing that the students had all been assigned a teacher, or “sensei”, as they called it in the school. There was one sensei that was not standing by a student. He was standing alone waiting for his student to arrive. Little did the sensei know that his life would take a big turn in being Kaito’s teacher.

The sensei slowly made his way to Kaito. He bowed to show respect to his student. Kaito did the same. Kaito always got serious when it was time for sword training. Now that everybody was assigned a sensei, each pair went to a small, private room for their training session.

Kaito and the teacher made their way to the room. “Sit, young man” the sensei said, using hand gestures to specify where to sit. “My name is Shiko. How old are you?” he asked.

Kaito scratched his head, baffled by how quick the questions were starting. “I’m 17 years old” he replied quickly.

Shiko chuckled a bit. “Alright then. I’ll give you a little introduction about myself. I am part of the SOD, other known as the Swordsmen of Dignity. Each member of SOD is trained specifically in their strong aspect, so don’t doubt my skills. I was trained in the elements” he paused.

“So, you’re telling me you can cast magic spells and set people on fire?” Kaito said sarcastically.

Although he did not like Kaito’s attitude, he was willing to compromise. “You don’t seem very enthusiastic” Shiko said. He was about to continue, but Kaito interrupted.

“Why would I? School sucks and the day we get to learn how to fight, my father goes missing during one of his training sessions in SOD, the so called place where people learn how to harness their abilities” he said. He didn’t believe Shiko could do anything he said he could.

“Fine then, shall I demonstrate?” Shiko asked. Shiko got up and his robe fell off, leaving him in his uniform. The pants were long and black. The shirt was white, unlike the pants.

He raised his left arm and twisted his wrist. He kept twisting until a mystical aura began to shroud around his arm. It was fog-like, yet it had a sort of glow to it. As the aura accumulated, he began to do the same thing with his right arm. After a couple seconds, his whole body became mystified by the glittering aura. Shiko closed his eyes and meditated while standing. His eyes opened and they were completely different color than before. Before they were brown and now they were green! He pointed his palm at the wall and concentrated even more. A small energy ball was forming. Then, with a loud noise, it shot off of his hand and sped right through the wall, leaving a near perfect circle. “How’d you like that?” Shiko asked.

Kaito was in awe. He never really understood how diverse fighting could be. He thought it would be just two people wacking swords at each other. Then, taking a single breath, he let out a word. “Whoa.”

---

The man we had seen before (the one running through the forest) was now in a small meadow. Trees were everywhere. Patches of grass all over the ground were cut in a specific pattern. The man with the SOE headband mouthed what seemed to be some sort of ritual and began to hum in a deep voice. The patches of grass began to glitter and glow. In an instant, the swordsman disappeared. After a few seconds, he re-appeared with two other swordsmen by his side, both also wearing the same headband as the first SOE member that was seen.

“What time is it?”

“3:50 PM. The boy gets out of school at 4:00 PM. If we travel by foot, we should arrive at about 4:05 PM.”

“Then let’s go.”

The three swordsmen dashed away, using all their effort to get to the boy in time.

---

Back at the CE city, it was morning and Sergio arose from bed. As usual, he went down stairs and turned on the TV as he made himself breakfast.

As he was watching TV, a stunning news story was put on. “We have just been notified that the leader of CE, Dorik Archimer, was found dead in his house this morning. We also have found one of the security tapes shown from the scene, showing Dorik’s killer and how Dorik was killed. Before we show the video we would like to assure you that the killer has been confirmed as Sergio Edzel. Here’s the video” the reporter said.

Sergio was shocked! “That has to be a mistake! I didn’t kill anybody!” Sergio spoke aloud. The video played on…

Sergio enters Dorik’s room. Sergio’s bright eyes seemed to set off an electrical current because the camera was being glitchy. Dorik entered the room and as he looked up, all he could see was Sergio’s fist. Sergio punched Dorik and it was so powerful that Sergio’s fist went right through Dorik’s head. Dorik dropped to the ground, still as a rock. Sergio stepped over Dorik’s body and left the room.

“And that was the video. We also have information that the CE officials are heading to Sergio’s house to arrest him” finished the male reporter.

Sergio looked at his fist. It was covered in dry blood. “No, this is impossible, I’m…I’m not a killer!”

Just then, a dart shattered through the house window and pierced Sergio in the neck, releasing some sort of fluid into his bloodstream. Sergio’s eyes fluttered for a few moments, and then he collapsed. He was unable to move, paralyzed, to some extent. The CE officials barged through his door. Each and every one of them was wearing heavy, strong clothing to protect themselves from any strong attacks that might be heading their way. Their plan went perfect, except they forgot about one factor…

Kerijo silently walked down the stairs holding a somewhat large shotgun in his hand. He cocked it and jumped in front of the CE officials. He fired about 6 times simultaneously. Each official dropped dead. One of the bullets went off course and struck Sergio, triggering his transformation. Kerijo, who had known of Sergio’s ‘transformation’ for a while, planned Sergio’s escape. Sergio got up and Kerijo handed Sergio a backpack full of necessary items. Sergio accepted the friendly package and ran out the door.

About 6 CE officials surrounded the confused Sergio. Sergio was more powerful like this, but he could not control himself. “We have you surrounded, put your hands in the air” one of the CE officials said. Kerijo ran out the back door. He came out front and distracted the CE officials. Kerijo pulled out a pistol and fired upon the officials. With the officials being distracted by Kerijo, Sergio had his chance to escape. Sergio saw his chance and ran as fast as he could. Kerijo distracted them long enough for Sergio to escape. Sergio was safe, but Kerijo was not.

“Run my friend, run” Kerijo whispered to himself.

One of the CE officials pulled out a dagger and threw it at Kerijo at high speed. The dagger’s point struck Kerijo in the forehead and then sliced through, advancing to the brain. Kerijo fell from the impact, and moments later, died.

---

The three SOE men stood in front of the school at 4:05 PM. Their calculations were correct. But as always, Kaito lingered every second he could spare. Kaito closed his locker and put his backpack on. He stepped out of the school and walked down the stairs. He was looking down during this, se he ran right into the three men. “Oww…sorry guys” Kaito said.

“Are you Kaito Hinsho?” the man on the left asked. Kaito nodded. “Come with us” he said. He placed his hand on Kaito’s forehead and mouthed one word. Kaito and the three men teleported back to the meadow that the three men had travelled through just minutes ago.

Kaito, startled by what just happened, acted by his instincts. He had his sword strapped to his belt. Shinko, his teacher, taught him a move. So Kaito used it.

Kaito drew his sword and hit one of the swordsmen in the back. The sword cut through his stomach, killing him. The two other swordsmen acted quickly. They jabbed Kaito in the back and then seized the sword from Kaito. The swordsmen did the same exact ritual as last time and Kaito and the men disappeared and re-appeared, but this time, underground, in a laboratory of some sort.

The swordsmen had Kaito’s hands in a wrist lock, so Kaito was powerless. He barely knew how to fight anyways. “Kaito, we’re not here to hurt you. Sorry for the scare. My name is Gale. Gale Hinsho” he said.

Kaito, startled once again from what Gale said, took a step back. “You’re…my father” Kaito said. He was trembling in place.

Gale placed his hand on Kaito’s shoulder. “Son, I’m the co-president of SOE. We have a job for you. You’ll be protecting someone very important. He is a thirteen-year-old boy named Do M. We don’t know his last name, only the first letter” Gale explained.

Kaito laughed at first, glad to see his dad, but the smile soon faded away. “As happy as I am to see my father, I’m no protection. I can’t even fight! What kind of guardian am I?” Kaito ranted.

Gale laughed and put his hand on Kaito’s shoulder again. Kaito nudged the hand away. “Everything will be explained soon enough. Right now, we need you to get some rest so we can conduct the tests as soon as possible. Big day ahead of you tomorrow” Gale said, sending Kaito off.

The two swordsmen threw Kaito into some room and locked it from the outside. In the room were a small bed, a desk, and a few chairs stacked on top of each other. Kaito pulled up a chair and sat in front of a desk. He sat and pondered about what was going on and what his dad was doing with SOE, because he knew his father was a part of SOD. He stared around the room looking for some way to escape. As eyes darted around the room, and he noticed an air vent in the ceiling. Kaito stacked the four chairs on top of each other right under the air vent. He climbed on top of them and pulled out a knife that the swordsmen did not seize from him. The nails were tightly pierced through the strong metal and each nail was screwed onto one edge of the air vent. Kaito put the sharp part of the knife in one of the corners and twisted until the nail became unscrewed. He continued doing this until the air vent seal fell. He jumped and grabbed on to the edge of the inner air vent. He pulled himself up and got on all four to easily maneuver through the tight space. Before he began making his way through, he put the knife back in his pocket. He then heard the door to his room unlock. That triggered his movement. He trotted silently and stayed unheard by the swordsmen.

The swordsman that had unlocked the door pushed the chairs out of the way and saw the air vent was open, and that Kaito was gone. “Code 3, code 3! Kaito is gone. Search all air vents. We need him!” he screamed into the transmitter.

The search immediately began and Kaito found himself surrounded by the light from each room. Before he knew it, two swordsmen had their hands on him. They carried him out. “We have the boy. To stop all other possible code 3’s, we’ll need to tell him what’s going on before he gets too hectic” another swordsman said into the transmitter.

The swordsmen threw Kaito into a small, isolated room like the room he was in before. In the middle was a small table with chairs on two sides. The sides were opposite of each other. Kaito took a seat and waited for anything. He was completely clueless of what would happen.

---

Sergio was far away from the CE officials’ sight. He reached the forest that divided the land of SOD and CE. As he was about the cross the border he noticed a sign. It read: “Now leaving Chaos Eternity land, now entering Swordsmen of Dignity land”. Sergio glanced around to make sure nobody had followed him. Luckily, he was alone. He stepped over the border and took a few steps in SOD land, but he sensed a presence near him. He heard the tree beside him shake a couple times. He looked up the tree trunk and saw a heavily armored SOD member with a dart in his hand. The SOD member looked down at Sergio and threw the dart at him, puncturing Sergio in the neck. Sergio was un-affected by it this time. In this transformation form, he was almost immune to everything.

The SOD member, confused about what just happened, used his instinct and jumped off of the tree. Sergio concentrated his eyes on the SOD member and rolled his eyes. The SOD member was thrown into the sky at high speed. He landed back down right in front of Sergio. Sergio covered his eyes at the horrible sight. “Did…did I do that?” he said out loud.

“No, I did.”

Sergio looked to his left and saw a man wearing black pants and a green T-shirt. The man had tattoos all over his body, though, none were exactly understandable. They were mostly gibberish letters and shapes randomly placed throughout his body. “Why did you do that?!” Sergio exclaimed. His face turned from angry to angrier. He was still in his transformed state and could not fully control his emotions and decisions.

The man just laughed at Sergio. He was quite amused by Sergio’s angry display. He pulled out a pistol from his right pocket. “Because he would have killed you if I didn’t” he said. He began tossing the pistol up and catching it. “Kerijo sent me to help you. He planned your whole escape. If it wasn’t for him, you’d be dead.” Sergio hesitated when looking at the man’s gun. It was something he had never seen before and only heard rumors of. “But I’m here for a bigger reason. I’m here to show you that you do have a weakness. You’re not invulnerable. You’re very easily killed. Like this” the man said, pointing the gun at Sergio’s foot. He pulled the trigger and the bullet flew through the air at supersonic speed and jammed into sergio’s foot.

“AHH!” Sergio screamed in pain. He reached his hands down to his foot. Blood was spilling from all sides. Sergio was in agony and all he could do was feel sorry for himself. “YOU CALL THIS HELP?!” Sergio screamed. Sergio got up and ran as fast as he could with the injured foot. He pulled back his arm for a powerful punch, but a loud crack stopped him in his tracks. He looked at his arm and saw that it had been shot by the man’s pistol.

The man laughed even more. “Woops, I forgot to mention, I’m a CE official. My bad!” he said. “But don’t you get it? You’re just like me, except I can control my abilities. You’ve got a long way to go before you’ll be as powerful as me. But for now, you’ll have to practice in jail. Ready for 10 years in jail? If not, suck it up. Because it’ll feel like crap. Oh, and from now on you’ll be calling me Sir. I’ll be training you and making you more disciplined over the next 10 years!” he said. The man levitated into the air and shot himself at the speed of sound at Sergio. They dashed through the sky breaking the sound barrier as they flew.

They landed swiftly and the man laid Sergio on the ground. He placed his hands on Sergio’s wounds and a bright aura covered them. Sergio’s wounds healed and completely disappeared. It was as if he wasn’t even injured at all! Sergio stood up and the man was holding the handcuffs already. He tried them around Sergio’s hands and led him into the jail. “By the way, my name is Gale. Gale Hinsho.”

---

Kaito glanced around the room he was placed in. He heard someone turn the door knob, so he turned around and waited for the person to show himself. Sadly enough, it was Shiko, Kaito’s teacher from the school. “WHAT?! What are you doing here?” Kaito exclaimed, and his sort of eager and scared look disappeared, and became a frown, a downright frown.

Shiko took off his robe like he did at the school and was fully dressed in his uniform. He was holding some sort of electric device in his hand. His hand was placed firmly around it and Shiko walked slowly to behind Kaito and pointed the device to Kaito’s head. “This will only sting for a moment” he said silently. He pressed the button on the device and an electric beam shot out of it and hit Kaito. The beam stopped firing out and Shiko put the device on the table. Shiko grabbed Kaito’s head and pulled it up. He pulled up Kaito’s eyelids and Kaito seemed to be alive, just unconscious.

Shiko took a seat and waited a few minutes for Kaito to regain consciousness. After about 10 minutes, Kaito raised his head and rubbed his eyes. “What…what happened?” Kaito said.

“You have been given the Anti-Boost. It’ll help you defend the boy on your journey” Shiko said.

“What…what are you talking about? What’s an Anti-Boost?” Kaito asked.

“Don’t worry about that now, boy. But just hear me out. Don’t fight against what is wrong, fight for what is right.”

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Very nice, Lenny. :3 I look forward to more.

The only error I saw was this one:

It wrote read: “Now leaving Chaos Eternity land, now entering Swordsmen of Dignity land”.

(Or, "On it was written:")

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean. I somewhat understand the error, but what should I change the error to?

EDIT: Ahh, I understand now, lol. The sign can't write :/

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Wow that was awsome ^_^
Although quite alot of killing already xD

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

i haz critisisism

"Each man was cloaked in a hooded, heavy-looking black cloak. The cloak simply acted as upper body wear – their lower wear were long, baggy pants colored red. Each wore the hood over their heads, hiding their faces in a dark shadow. Piercing the darkness were their eyes, which cast some light on their lips, allowing their mouths to be seen ever so slightly through the darkness."

So... there are a couple of things you can do to make your writing more fluent, and this paragraph is a good example of what you shouldn't do. In the first sentence and a half, you have used the word "cloak", which is a big nono. Your first and third sentences start with the same word "Each", which doesn't flow too well either (you should only do this for words like "the").

Please don't be insulted by the fact that I criticised you though- the fact that I even bothered to try and correct you just shows that I think your stuff is worth reading :D

I'm not insulted whatsoever. That is actually quite minor criticism. And as you know, after every single chapter I write "All criticism is appreciated". Thanks for catching that. I see how it doesn't exactly flow. I'll edit it right now! Thanks! =D

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Can't wait to figure out about Kaito's journey. :) Nice work Tomer.

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity

Heh, yeah I did start the killing already. But you guys have no idea what will happen next xD

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity (Ch.1 is up!)

Ch. 2: In Captivity

Kaito came into consciousness. He realized that he was back in the room he was held in for the first time. The one with the bed and chairs and air vent, except this time, the air vent was covered in concrete. Kaito snickered, but felt a burning sensation on the back of his head. He rubbed it, trying to get the feeling away, but it wouldn’t stop. He clutched his hands around his head and became extremely dizzy. His eyes lost focus of everything and his pupils turned green, with a bit of a glow. The transformation began. As Kaito lost consciousness, the beast gained it.

Kaito had no control whatsoever of his body. The beast was rampaging inside of him; screaming and shouting. After several moments, the beast took full control.

The beast turned the knob of the door, but it was locked. “GRAHH!!!” the beast screamed. The beast was using Kaito’s body, but using his own mind and strength. He body slammed the door and smashed right through it. A guard noticed this and pulled out his sword, but the beast already saw it coming. The beast extended his hands towards the guard and a green, electric wave blasted out of his hand. The guard was shocked into paralysis. The beast turned the opposite way and continued walking.

“Stop right there, son” a man voice spoke out. The beast turned around and saw his father. “I knew you couldn’t handle the power of the beast, but I have no choice but to stop you. You’ll have to be trained” Gale finished. He pulled out a small pistol from his side pocket and loaded it. The beast charged at him with immense speed. Gale pulled the trigger milliseconds before the beast was about to devour him. The bullet struck the beast and he instantly fell. The transformation was reversing and the beast was returning to its sleep within Kaito. Gale walked over to his wounded and unconscious son. “You’ve got a lot to learn, my boy.”

---

Sergio awoke from his deep sleep. One of the guards unlocked the cell he was in. Sergio was handed his breakfast and the cell was locked. The food was grimy-like and mashed up. Sergio had no clue what it was, but this was all he had. A small light turned on in his room as well as in all the other cells. One by one, the criminals were escorted to their respectful places during the day. Sergio’s cell was the second to last in the row, so he waited several more minutes than the rest. The minutes passed and finally, Gale showed up. He unlocked the cell, but the fury inside of Sergio could not be held inside of him any longer. “YOU SON OF A-“ Sergio screamed. Sergio grabbed Gale’s neck and pushed him backwards into the wall. The last word could not be heard due to the loud crack noise of Gale and the wall’s impact.

Gale was feeling no pain from Sergio’s attempt. He raised his knee quickly and Sergio was struck right in his ribs. Sergio lost his grip on Gale, but was certainly not finished. Although, Gale had different plans. Gale raised his right arm and pointed it at Sergio. A small flash of light splattered across the cell and Sergio’s attention was drawn to Gale. “You wanna learn how to do this? Then come with me, or I’ll easily let you rot in jail. Follow me or stay behind, your choice” Gale said. Gale began to walk towards the exit and soon after, Sergio decided to follow.

Sergio caught up with Gale. They both walked down the dark halls of the jail. They reached a door that read: “Only Warden Allowed” on the front of it. Gale pulled out a key from his pocket and put the key in the slot and opened the door. They both walked in and the warden was sitting on his chair, smoking a cigar. “What’s the problem, Gale?” he asked. He was a very fit man; you could see his biceps almost ripping through his shirt. His face was well rounded and he had a buzz cut, just like the other criminals, except Sergio.

Gale sighed from relief. He’s used to seeing his boss bad tempered and drunk. “Sir, I need the key to the weight room, please”.

“No can do” he replied. “I’m about to head down there myself. Unless you two want to come with me” the warden said. He got off of his chair and waited for their answer. “Well?”

Gale was about to speak, but Sergio spoke out first. “No, we’ll pass” Sergio said, rolling his eyes at Gale.

“Now what in the world is that supposed to mean?! Being rude to me? No, you’re not getting away with that!” the warden said. He pulled his hand back and made a fist. Sergio saw the punch coming, but had no reaction. The warden struck Sergio in the gut. Sergio placed his hands around his stomach, trying to sooth the pain away.

But Sergio was growing weak and the beast within him prospered from that. Stealing Sergio’s lost energy and using it to transform was the beast’s power.

“Sergio, control yourself…” Gale muttered. Sergio’s eyes flicked green, but returned to their normal state. Sergio fully maintained the beast for his first time.

The warden pushed Sergio out of the way and exited the room. “I…I think it’s about time to tell me what I am” Sergio said. Sergio stared at Gale with a puzzled look. “What am I?”

Gale nodded and told Sergio to follow him. As they walked down the hall, they saw more criminals in their cells. Each one had a bruise or scar indicating their crime. When the two reached the end of the hall, Gale pulled out a new key and unlocked the door. They stepped in and the room was filled with different weapons and files scattered across the room. “You and I are not like the others. We have a special blood type that combines well with some chemicals. With testing on duplications on our blood, they finally made the right combination. The government started this project after they figured out the right chemical mixture and I was the first test subject. Thankfully, I survived this grueling incision. But I have you know, with these powers come weaknesses. You may think you’re indestructible, but you’re not. When the government needed a way to control us, they created our weakness…guns. On the third day of training, half of the test subjects were shot. Some were severely injured, but most died. I can’t even bear to think about it…must I continue?” Gale stopped and took a breath. The memories were so painful and they would stay with him until he died.

“But I don’t understand. I wasn’t one of those test subjects. How come I’m like this?” Sergio asked, still puzzled and trying to put the pieces together.

There was a small silence between them for a few moments. Gale was trying to flush out the memories, but in the end it was hopeless. “The government found out a problem with the formula. It was hereditary” Gale said, and paused to let Sergio think for awhile.
Sergio pondered on this new information he had just learned. “So, my mom or dad was injected?”

Gale nodded. “Although, not many women were injected due to the fact that there weren’t many women with that blood type. So it was most likely your dad. But you could also have the case where both of your parents had it, but that’s even more deadly for you. If there are two parents with it, as our studies showed, the beast within you gets stronger every day, whether you’re losing energy or not. But that doesn’t seem like the case, so you shouldn’t be worried” Gale explained.

“Will you help me?” Sergio asked.

“With what?”

“Finding my parents. They disappeared when I was 14. Will you help?” Sergio asked again.

“You’ll need to be trained first. You’ll need to be able to control your anger and power out in the real world. You don’t want to be killed by a gun, do you?”

“No, of course not. When does training start?” Sergio asked.

Gale sighed. “When the Warden finishes up with the weight room.”

Kaito’s mom was at home cleaning the dishes. Her apron was wet and her long hair was tied back. She turned off the faucet and there was a knock on the door. She scurried to the door. “Who is it?” There was no answer. She opened the door only to see two men dressed in red. “What? Who are you?” she asked. The men pushed her out of the way and entered the house. “Excuse me?!” she screamed.

One of the men turned around, pulled out a dagger and held it against her neck. “You wanna shut up?” the man angrily replied, although he spoke softly.

Kaito’s mom was trembling. Her whole body was immobilized, or at least it felt like it. The door closed shut from the wind. One man stayed to guard the mom while the other one searched around the house. “So, mind telling us your name?”

She continued to tremble, but was able to mumble the two words. “Nina Hinsho” she said.

“So Nina, can you tell us where your son is?” he asked. She was about to speak when someone knocked on the door. The man slowly walked to the door and looked through the small peephole. “Just the newspaper girl.” He opened the door and the girl pulled out a small dagger from her back pocket and sliced the man’s neck.

“Ma’am, come with me. These men will kill you” she said. She looked like she was Kaito’s age, 16 or 17 years of age. Her body was thin yet muscular and her brown hair reached down to the top of her back. She also had a sword strapped to her back. “My name is Sahina. Come on, you can trust me; we’ll get out of here alive.”

Nina nodded and the two girls silently exited the house. They headed to the town square where they could easily blend in. Although, their plan had one problem…

The second man glanced through the window of the top floor. He noticed Nina trying to escape and pulled out his weapon, a taser gun.

“Damn girls don’t know who they’re messing with” he spoke silently. He pulled up the window and aimed for Nina. The gun shot made no noise and the small bullet struck Nina. She tripped and scraped her face. Her face became bruised and cut all over, but she wo0uld feel no pain because of the tazer bullet which numbed her whole body. The man aimed for the second girl and hit her, too. She fell just like Nina and lost feeling of her body. “Boom.”

Kaito raised his head to see a man with a gun in his hand. It was too dark in the room to make out the description of him. All Kaito heard were his footsteps.

Kaito tried to move his arms and legs, but they were tightly strapped in chains connected to more chains and then connected to the wall. “What do you want from me?” Just let me go home…” Kaito warned the man.

“Shut up. The lord will be here soon” the man said.

“Nobody tells me to shut up. Nobody.” Kaito swung his arms and the metal chain broke apart from the wall. The chain’s momentum swung it around and hit the man. The man then continued his way to plummeting to the ground. Kaito got up from the chair and smashed the man’s face into the wall. He was clearly being controlled by the beast.

The light turned on in the room and a TV screen foalded down from the ceiling. An image of a man I his mid-30’s appeared. “Very nice. I like that power, that anger” he said. “Now, we’d like you to do something for us. In return, you’ll know how to use your powers without going berserk, you listening?”

Kaito growled and frowned upon the image. He took a few steps back and then charged right through the TV at full speed. “No, I don’t listen to anybody.”

Would've been longer, but I'm really sick. I got strep and then it developed into bronchitis, so yeah. This is almost half the size of Ch. 1, but I hope 2000 words is enough of a read for you guys.

RE: Swordsmen of Eternity (Ch. 2 is up!)

lol, nice.

I'm thinking of making the chapters of my story a bit longer too lol, it seems to be a success :p (hardly anyone reads mine :()

I do prefer stories based on existing animes and such... completely fictional stuff rarely interests me...

still, in general i give you an 8/10 :p
