You know I think Lugia ex FA and the shinies that are NOT 5Ban Graphics look a lot better than the full arts and shinies 5ban Graphics did.

If you gotta go 3D get those guys to do it, or tell 5ban Graphics to step up their game a bit.

One of the main reasons I found most of the 5ban Graphics art lacking is probably because they didn´t picture the Pokemon in their environment, like traditional art does/did. Look at Kouki Saitou's or Masakazu Fukuda's art for reference on that.

Personally, if they want to continue 3D art, I´d love to see less, but amazing quality renders like the ones that the new artist hatachu does:

That Serperior is gorgeous, as is the environment. Everything looks so realistic, look at that grass!

Agreed completely, Dracidius. The 5ban Graphics stuff in the beginning sets (with the fade-to-black background, ie Serperior, Hydreigon, and Crobat) is bland. Repeating the same background (minus color) but with different type-specific add-ons was a poor creative choice, though I'm not sure it was entirely 5ban's fault. Kouki Saitou's Beartic got the same treatment, so it was probably the creative director's fault. I actually don't mind the one's they did with more natural environments like Reshiram Promo 23.

Regardless, I do seem to enjoy the stuff by other artists (such as hatachu) more.


Overall, though (at risk of repeating myself), I though the art direction was poorly handled in the entirety of the BW series. I can only hope XY breaks this.

In my opinion, the best 3D artwork they did was the Plasma ones. I agree some of the early ones were a bit bland, but starting with Dragons Exhalted they looked alot better.

Also, I really liked the artwork in certain areas, like in front of the castelia cone shop and victory road, I hope they do that again.

In my opinion, the best artwork is the hand-drawn artwork, or the artwork that looks hand-drawn but colored by computers. So pretty much, there is very few pieces of 3D artwork I enjoy.

I love them. Although I wouldn't want them in XY base, maybe mid-gen when I know the games by then.

Now that we will have a non-legendary EX Pokemon, does anyone think this will start dominating X&Y card series immediately?

Dragon energy cards, as stated before. And I think it's about time that some types like Ice get their own cards! A snowflake would be a.perfect symbol. I love the way te cars looked in the neo era and before that. If they could combine that with the way the holofoil a looks in the BW series it would be sick.

Ice is too small a type. Flying, Bug, Rock/Ground and Poison are probably the only types with enough potential to split off into new types. (I don't consider Dragon to have been a good idea.) And Bug and Poison won't happen, since they'd likely retain their current weaknesses anyway and thus be redundant aside from Bug hitting Dark-Types for weakness.

Releasing EX( or whatever GEN VI super rares will be called) in a logical fashion. Entei and Raikou came out in DEX but no Suicune. If the legendary pokemon EX are part of a group then release them together as the entire group.

No more EX more power for the stage pokemons. Fairy set like dark in dark explorers that brings fairy as a new type . I also have an idea to make for each set a gym badge trainer lol 8 gym badges for 8 sets

God I hope not. The whole EX thing just makes the game too fast for me and am I the only one who thinks the non legendary EX pokemons art is lame? From what we have seen so far only 2 but still..

EXs will stay
New type--Fairy
New game mechanic that everybody will hate for a week and love immediately after that week ends

Wants
NO MORE 5BAN GRAPHICS. EVER.
EXs need to go--come back, Pokemon Lv.X!
More 'archetypes' of sorts with groups of Pokemon that do different things to assist each other in different ways

Since we've seen EXes reprinted and S1 and S2 Pokémon being reprinted as basic EXes now, I'm pretty sure that EXes will continue on in XY. Not quire sure how happy I am with that, but on the bright side, if they keep EXes, they'll probably keep Full Arts, too.

My wants:
1. Keep EX Pokemon reasonable. No more 180 HP 90 DMG with spread. *Glares at Drakrai*
2. Make 'Stage 2' Pokemon more playable. Give them more HP to stay up to par with the EX's or make them have stronger attacks.
3. Make some of the rares more obtainable. Be it in tins or promos, I do not want to pay 50$+ for some cardboard.
4. Make the game cheaper. As in make the pull rates higher so Catchers are not 15$. (Reasonable price but really?)

What X/Y will bring to the TCG

I am just curious as to what people are expecting and thinking that X/Y will bring to the table for TCG. For me I want more decks that require strategy. (I.E. Deck and Cover, GothLock, etc.). Decks that are not just throw two DCEs on a EX and wipe out everythin else in the format.

Is there anything positive about the current TCG meta? If any, the only positive thing that could be said is. "welp, at least it's not Stormfront-on with BW rules, because that was a load of bull"

XY better find ways to nuke those 180HP EXs that turns this game into a brainless game.

Oh god, Gothlock is only hard when you don't get the lock. Once you get the lock, all you need to do is pray your opponent doesn't have two Keldeo Float stones. The entire format is practically dead right now and I have the EXs to blame for that. Catcher is just there to help try balance this stupid format.

Now that I am done with yelling at two versions of cardboard, I would like actual immunities to exist. With Plasmaklang coming into rotation, it made resistance obsolete. If you can make immunities, then we wouldn't need to keep a Plasmaklang in our deck. I would also like more than Hooligans Jim and Cas, N and Ghetsis to affect our opponents hand. There should also be the ability to play 2v1 (I already tried that, it did not work well) and new cards to counter existing cards. Also, some EX are extremely dependent on the game outside of the straightforward battle (Prize Cards, Lost Zone, Benched Pokèmon, etc.) and that makes them either a complete waste of space in a deck or a ridiculously powerful card. I am not telling whoever makes the cards to stop making them, just don't make them ex and so weak.

The cards will just become even more overpowered, and power creep will consume them like they did with black and white

sorry for sounding pessimistic but I really dislike the power creep going on at the moment
