RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Probably something SP. It's the most consistent thing around.

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Well with copy cat coming out and spiritomb being played things like plox can get a better set up at the same time as you, with darkness grase to set up evos and the using copycat after your totaly done with your spirit to get a MASIVE hand then you pretty much win

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Probably FlyChamp. Working on mastering the deck. Still working somethings out. Should I keep my Xatu tech in or not? 2 times in Cities, GlisTomb stopped me from moving on in TC/getting in TC.

Oh and Jimmy, in your dreams. :p

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

You want my list? I won 3 cities with it, you'll have to tweak it with some HGSS though

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Sure. PM it to me please. I'd like to compare it with mine.

Hey Jimmy, do you know where Regionals is being held this year? (Please say somewhere in NC :3)

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Ok, PM sent, and I too would like to know where it is being held

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

It's in VA, sorta near Richmond. Quinton is the city name.

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Ok, well thats 10 hours from my regs :/ so it might be not likely

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Go to your Regs then. It's not worth driving 10 hours to come here >.>

I probably won't go to Ohio states. Why? It's 8 hours away, and we will probably get MD/Delaware states. So no need to go really.

New topic: What do you think will do good at states? Do you think the cards will live up to the immense hype? Discuss.

Any deck with solid matchups all-around. Jumpluff, Flygon, SPs, etc. should all do incredibly well. Plox seems to be okay with Double Colorless, but a few problems arise by playing it, namely, Call Energy and skipping out on the Spiritomb lock.

Donphan should see a lot of play, but it loses to Dialga G and just about anything Water-type.

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

I don't think Dialga will see as much play. I don't know why, but I just don't see it being as played as it was during cities. I agree with you a lot.

Do you think PLOX will still rely on Tomb to setup? I think so because unlike in HP-on, you can't go T2 Gardy/Gallade with Call + DRE. So to be honest, I think it will need Tomb to keep on working. Also, Pachi has been much better than Pichu in Jumpluff for me. Pichu sets your opponent up...which isn't that good for Jumpluff.

Dialga loses a lot of power just due to slower cards recovering with Spiritomb + DCE. If not for that fact, it could do much better.

Plox will probably have to play a few (if only for consistency) Spiritomb, just to prevent donk decks like Donphan running all over them. Like I said, Call Energy is mandatory in most decks, and Plox is no exception.

Overall, I do think that Spiritomb, while not the main focus like it used to be, will probably see play in Plox (at least ones in the top tables, anyway).

I think the issue here is that DCE is considered the "god card" in Plox, when it in fact only makes things slightly better. SpiriPlox will be the most dominating variant, and DCE makes it a tad bit faster, but not enough to warrant the huge impact that it has been hyped to make.

Pachi is by far the better option. Dialga G resistance is killer and a built-in FlyTrap/SP/Gyarados counter is too good to pass up. That and it doesn't die to DCE'd SPs.

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Well to play SP I need something to counter Donphan. All I can think of is Dewgong SV.

Quasire GL works. It runs to the bench too to not get damaged.

Not really. Quagsire GL three-hit KOs Donphan, and that's hardly an acceptable counter.

As for Dewgong, playing an entire stage 1 in an SP deck (besides Claydol) is way too inconsistent.

To be honest, there is actually little you can do against Donphan.

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Quag 2 hit KO's Donphan. Donphan's body is after W+R.

So what should I do? I mean, Donphan does get owned by some water stuff.

Quag does 80 damage. 80 - 20 = 60. Donphan will more than likely have Belt attached, which equals 160 HP. That's three hits to take out a Donphan, by which your opponent will be fully set up, which is what SPs are supposed to prevent, anyway.

I guess Quagsire is probably your best bet, but it isn't all that solid of an answer.

RE: Team Hurricane - The storm is coming

Uh no, with a Belt it will have 140. I think the best bet is a fighting resist pokemon- some decks donphan just can't handle at all.

Oh, right. That's still a three-hit KO, though. You could try Staraptor FB Lv.X. It resists Donphan and hits Flygon for big damage.
