Well, I'm assuming that there will be some levels in Sonic Generations because they already confirmed that they would have levels from the genesis days, to the dreamcast days, to the modern days.

Anyways, here is a link to part 1 of my Sonic Adventure summary type thing:

Part 2 of my Sonic Adventure Story Summary is up on my blog! Check it out!

I enjoy reading your commentary within the actual storyline. Keep the good work up!

Part 3: http://ziggyfin.blogspot.com/2011/05/sonic-adventure-part-3-just-dream.html

(make sure you find the link to the video after reading it. It's at the bottom of the page, but sorta hard to see.)

Oh, and Sonic Generations is confirmed for the 3DS.

Here is new news:(sorry, I copied the text, I don't have time to write it out myself)

Here’s all of the main details:
* The Nintendo 3DS version is being co-developed by Sonic Team and Dimps.
* The director of the 3DS version is Tetsu Katano, who directed Sonic and the Black Knight.
* 2D side-scrolling gameplay for both Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic.
* Momentum based gameplay and platforming are fully featured in the Classic Sonic gameplay.
* Modern Sonic plays a lot like the Sonic Rush games and Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colours.
* Nintendo 3DS version will have exclusive stages and boss stages.
* Green Hill Zone will be the only shared stage in both the HD console version and Nintendo 3DS version.
* Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is confirmed for the Nintendo 3DS version.
* Story has some differences between the console and Nintendo 3DS versions, but will be fundamentally the same.
* Console version will have many characters, but the Nintendo 3DS version will only feature the ones who are integral to the story.
* There is no Wii version. Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka says this is because “The primary goal for the console versions of Generations was reimagining the series’s classic zones in vivid, high-definition graphics.”
* Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘s Launch Base Zone ‘Big Arm’ boss fight is in the game, which suggests that stage is also in the game.
* Classic Eggman appears in the above mentioned boss.
* Exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version are challenges that you can unlock via StreetPass or Play Coins.
* The game also features an exclusive two-player race mode via local wireless connection.
* Modern Sonic stages take advantage of the 3D feature more than the Classic Sonic stages. An example shown and detailed is a part in the Green Hill Zone where Modern Sonic smashes through the bottom of a giant totem pole. The camera then moves to the front of Sonic and lets you see the rest of the pole collapse behind Sonic as he escapes.
* The 3D depth is also highlighted when Modern Sonic occasionally moves between the foreground and the background.
* Jun Senoue and his music team are working on the music for the game.
* Nintendo Power thinks the handful of tracks they’ve heard so far are “fantastic”.
* Special Stages are confirmed and are designed in Sonic Heroes style. As expected, you earn Chaos Emeralds from these stages. Whether or not Super Sonic will be your reward for earning all Chaos Emeralds is unclear right now.

I dunno... I have to actually buy a 3DS to buy Generations... but it looks like its worth it... dang...
Great Job again on the write-up, Ziggyfin. I really like the perspective thing your doing :D

Welcome to our newest member, Gengar_is_Pwnage!! I encourage everyone to stay active and contribute to the group, especially with Ziggyfin putting this awesome effort into his game summaries! What do you guys think of the Sonic Generations footage? Will you be buying it? For what system? Discuss!

Well, for me its love all around the board for Sonic, I have played every system (SEGA) have released to date (yes this includes Sonic CD, Game Gear and Saturn).

I've been playing since 1995 if my memory serves. And a good question to ask (to save some the trouble of possibly asking) is what games DON'T I own. I own most of the games to date. The few I dont own are those for the systems I listed already, and the DS platform and a few Wii ones I have traded in stupidly *face palm*

The Game gear, Genesis and D-cast are the best systems Sega released IMO.

Glad to be a part of this group :D

Well(to make conversation), I played Sonic the Hedgehog 1/2/3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Riders, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic/Mario(if that counts), and uhh...
I think that's it.

Anyway. I want to get a GameCube controller, a GameCube memory card and Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure DX, and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
I miss those games...

Sonic Adventure was by far the best (IMO) 3d game released. Great game play, awesome level construction, great soundtrack along with a plethora of other things I could mention. I still have a D-cast so I can play SA1 when I please. It just doesn't always want to work.....Well it takes a long time for it to work.

Sadly, I don't own every system SEGA has churned out. Just these:

Genesis
Game Gear
D-cast

Personally though, those were the best systems they released. The other (originals) just didn't measure up to the Genesis, and the D-cast was in an era of its own. It had what it needed to be the best system around (at the time). SEGA just failed at marketing it, which is why Nintendo bought them out. The D-cast was SEGA's downfall in their entire era as a company (the worst idea they had was making the Game Gear take 6 batteries, which it ate VERY quickly).

Does anyone know all the platforms this (Generations) will be on, not to mention when Sonic 4 part 2, and Generations will be out?

Also does anyone notice in Chillarmys post about Generations that Sonic doesn't sound like sonic during the jumps?

When I had a dreamcast, I had no idea what it was. I just remember because Sonic Adventure was my first game(beside a Disney game I can't remember).

@Gengar_Is_Pwnage: Generations will be for PS3, 360, PC, and 3DS. Although 3DS will have different levels and mainly feature Sonic. Whereas the PS3, PC, 360 version will have it's own levels (not including green hill) and have most of the Sonic characters make it in the game (but so far-not playable)

Sorry, but I don't really have time to do another write-up for a week and a half because of final exams and studying, but once I'm done....Bring on the SONIC ADVENTURE!!!

I seriously want to know why they never release the good games on the Wii (even though I have all 3). I just feel more at home on the Wii than the PS3.

Does anyone know when Sonic 4 pt 2 will come out, or is there a part 2?

Also a question for this group:

What was your favorite Sonic game/s and which game/s had your favorite sound tracks?

@Gengar:
All the "good" games are on the ps3 because it has a graphics card that can actually make it go hd. SEGA's not going to make the game all over again for wii but with worse graphics, because when they did that for Sonic Unleashed, the sales for the hd consoles sold much better than for wii. However, Colors was for the wii because Wii owners needed some 20th anniversary gift. Personally, I like the HD games a lot more.

Sonic 4 pt 2: Right now, they are probably fixing up mistakes that they had in part 1, due to the fan's demands for little errors. But they're probably not releasing it until the other games come out because they will get more of a profit if they release them father apart. But the game is still a go.

My fav Sonic game has to be Sonic Adventure 2 battle because of the story, the different characters, and the chao garden! That game also had my favorite music. However, I do like most of the theme songs for the other more recent titles such as "Endless Possibility" for Unleashed and "Reach for the Stars" for Colours.
