im reading the technical machine TS-1 and I dont get it. What dose it mean I can evolve your pokemon without a basic pokemon or you nees the basic pokemon to make it a stage ?!?! PLEASE HELP !!!

Search your deck for a card that evolves from 1 of your Pokemon and put it onto that Pokemon.

What exactly makes no sense about that?
