Ruling Technical Machine TS-1???

Say you want to evolve a Magnemite and you use Technical Machine TS-1 can you choose Magnezone to evolve into or do you have to evolve into the next pokemon being the stage 1 Magneton?

magnezone doesn't evolve from magnemite... it says it evolves into magneton so that's what you do.

It says to put a card onto one of your pokemon that evolves from another. Say for example you had a Charmander. Charizard doesn't evolve from Charmander, Charmeleon does.
