Terrakion: Better or Worse Now?

I created this topic to hear what everyone thought about where Terrakion NVI (retaliate) stands in the meta; has it gotten better or worse with the release of Plasma Storm? Darkrai EX has definatly seen a rise in play with the release of Hypnotoxic Laser and Virbank City Gym -- but does that make Terrakion better or not? On one side, Darkrai's rise in play (especially since Darkrai's favored tool is dark claw now) will make the bull better as a general Darkrai counter, allowing it to be more effective than in BW-BCR becuase of Blastoise's popularity. However, on the other side, with the arrival of the common Virbank + Hypnotoxic + Dark Claws in Darkrai variants, Terrakion looses one trait that made it so good -- it's bulkiness. Now, Darkrai varients can KO a terrakion with ease. What do you think about Terrakions viability in this format?

EDIT: Oops, I forgot retaliate read "damage from and opponents attack." That alone makes it a lot worse.

I think that there will be better options than Terrakion in this current meta. It has lost that one important thing. Also, you wouldn't need to play it in the main accelerator of this meta: Blastoise. Eelektrik has fallen out of popularity by what I've seen.

I think its worse because with htl it gets one shotted very easily and its too slow. Tornadus and lugia will both be popular at states and they both resist him.

The only thing (I think) that it has going for it is that it only takes 2 Energy to do 90 damage, instead of 3 like Darkrai.

I think Terrakion's definitely on the decline (especially when we have cards like Landorus EX to counter Darkrai now) but I don't think he's completely useless. Still very useful against a Darkrai and he doesn't give up 2 prizes. But I wouldn't run him as more than a tech.

Basically, I don't think he's as useful as he once was but Darkrai still has reason to have a healthy fear of him.

Not really as good as he was before, but still a staple tech in most Landorus decks just to revenge KO against Darkrai.

The biggest problem is the Laser. Yeah Darkrai can 1shot it, but you can't retaliate back. If a Pokemon gets KO'ed by poison, Retaliate does not activate

I'm glad someone mentioned the biggest issue with Terrakion. It can no longer come out of nowhere with attachment and Energy Switch because Retaliate won't get the boost. This along with the fact that it's OHKO'd makes it less effective. Of course, in order to OHKO Terrakion, you're opponent needs Catcher, Virbank, Laser, and Dark Claw, and you can play down your Stadiums and use Tool Scrapper, so Terrakion could still be usfull.

It got way worse. That isn't even up for debate really.

Darkrai now has a way to OHKO and Lasers get around Retaliate which was one of the biggest qualities of the card. I just don't see it now.

Just remembered that Terrakion is Landorus' only legit way to fight Klinklang. So it may be worse, but as long as Klinklang is in the format, Terrakion will have to be played.
