Terrakion with and without Landorus Discussion Thread

It's become a Tech-Only card. If you want to run a good troll deck, try Donphan or a Groudon EX Varient. If you wanna have some fun, try Groudon EX and Krookodile from BW, it works like a reverse DonChamp.

^ Untrue. Terrakion/Lando/Mewtwo is the best Terrakion variant. Not only does it have speed on its side, but it can counter tanking Mewtwos. Terrakion can still be a deck, but straight Terrakion doesn't work as well. Terrakion is a tech, but not ONLY a tech. Sure, it helps counter Darkrai/Zekeels/etc, but you can't rely on it the whole game.

@Nigel
You should add the Darkrai Matchup to the OP. Hammers is 70/30 in Darkrai's Favor because Sableye can keep streaming hammers. Darkrai Tornadus is 60/40 because a T1 Tornadus w/ Eviolite can set up KOs and destroy Terrakions "energy chaining". However, Terrakion can manage to take weakness and catcher KOes and the prize trade w/ Tornado EX is even. Its pretty much all about Darkrai's T1-3
Also, the Zekeels matchup should be changed. 90-10 is COMPLETELY absurd. After the end of States, people found out how to beat Terrakion, and though close, it is not an Autoloss. Zekeels can do 30 to the Energy Terrakion, catcher another one, than Raikou the enery one so EXP share doesn't work and Terrakion loses their energies. Aggre Mewtwos w/ Eviolite works too. Zekroms can Pluspower KO them. The matchup is actually really close now, about 55-45 in Terrakions favor because it has weakness, but it is slow and can be thwarted (yeah I said it) by smart moves and a good player. Not to mention that Tornadus EX is such an easy tech in card for Zekeels.

Once tool scrapper comes out, terrakion will become a tech only card because it will loose it's energy acceleration to it.

Like heatmor, very few people will run Tool Scrapper. Maybe a 1 card tech, but still very few.

I will run 2 in my zekeels, because I'm scared of garb odor shutting of my eels.

1-2 of the tool scrappers.

Tool Scrapper won't be that common as people are hyping it up to be. It HELPS but it take 2 to actually help at the times you want it to. Also, I can freely say that NOBODY will run Zebstrika/Garbodor, so when you see Garbodor, just catcher KO it. Not difficult.

I will probably run 2 Tool Scrapper, but not for Garbodor. I will run it because of all of the new Tools comming out. That Large Cloak that adds 20 HP and the Rescue Scarf that brings guys back to your opponents hand. Rescue Scarf probably won't be that popular, but I know I'm going to run Large Cloak, so I'm going to assume my opponent does too, and I really don't want to face a Garchomp with 160 HP. Getting rid of Tools will probably be a big thing in the next format because now there are so many of them.

I currently run it in my Darkrai/Hydreigon. I'm not sure how widely it will be played, but having a potential autoloss towards any deck means this will most likely be dead.

With the only Energy Acceleration decks being Eels and Dark decks, Exp. Share will be seen a lot, so a 2-of Tool Scrapper isn't a bad idea.

Now I'm gonna run Zebstrika Garbodor!

and btw I run 3-4 (testing with both still debating) Scrapper in my BW-on Zeels works pretty well

Really? Ins't it super inconsistent.

Yeah but it won't always be helpful to discard the tool, like Eviolite when you already have the KO.
