That New Card Smell!

I was wondering if anyone ever sniffs inside of a pack of newly opened Pokémon cards. Yes, I know it's weird, but it's a great smell really. I hope I'm not the only one who does this.

I like sniffing them, too. I compared my old Skiymin Lv.X to my new one by smell.

I don't see the point of this thread, but I never take these cards out of one of my tins 'cause it keeps the new card smell fresh if you keep it closed. xD

Yep, i love the smell of fresh cards. I think that, over time, our brain connects the euphoria of receiving awesome cards from a pack, unexpectedly, with the crisp smell of new cards, eventually creating a good association with opening a pack.



That's just my theory, tho.

One of the things I love about prereleases is how abundant that smell is. It's a great smell.

I agree. I love smelling crisp bills too. :]

But yeah, I think I've sniffed cards a couple of times. They do have a nice smell, but I don't buy it for that. ;p

Yes!!! i have smelled the cards ever since i was a kid! (i sorta still am ) but its good to know that i'm not the onley one that loves the smell of those blessed cards!

The smell of new cards in a freshly opened pack always gets my hopes up of getting good cards.

What's even odder is that I have better luck opening packs at premier events. (my first booster X at states, and oodles of holos at RR Pres.)

Getting back on topic... yeah, they smell good.

Sometimes I sniff fresh cards out of packs for a reason.

1. Make sure they are not fake.
2. Make sure no one open the pack
